Hey people. For those saying these are old clips, yes they are. This was a show promo for the Storm Arwen show. The clips are from pervious storms, as it says in the video description. "You might remember these clips from previous storms 😉" The 787 from Storm Erik the other 2 are from Storm Ciara.
Tip, read before posting your comment or you risk looking really silly. It is right there in the video description that this is a show update/promo, and the clips in it are from previous storm shows. Duh!
Ah, so it's not just a click bait title. Gotcha.
@@BigJetTV oh ok
...both guys , 🤣😂🤣 nit wits 🤣
UA-cam recommended, this old video with a actual clickbait title, 😂🤣 👏👏
These pilot have some mad skills and quick decision making. Very impressive how they handle those beast. As a maintenance technician I love seeing this and what these jets can do!
Like dancing with a fat chick
Must be such an adrenaline rush landing one. What a crazy skillful job.
Gonna be a whole lot of "EEEEEASY SAN!" action tomorrow haha
Lol ewwww 😀
Ha ha tickled
As a 32 year Delta pilot, I can truly say “I was there many times “. You’d think you might get an ata boy from the people deplaning, but all they were concerned about was making their connections.
I would be one that would make an ata boy comment when deplaning. I have before quite a few times when traveling, even for a rocket takeoff.
❤️
Same here. I was 39+ yrs with USAirways. Been there many times in all kinds of different aircraft. Usually the cross wind component is the deciding factor but there are times where it could be over the limit and the runway conditions certainly enter into the equation. I've landed in Buffalo years ago, in a DC9 and it was gusting to 70 kts but it was pretty much down the runway. I could site many such situations and any professional pilot has usually seen them all if he or she's been around long enough.
ATA BOY!!!
If you kept me from dying, I'd give you a hug if you'd let me. Just saying.
Spare a thought for the poor pilots struggling against massive windshear, microbursts and strong crosswinds. All the while they are expected to provide a "smooth" landing.
That's why they get the big bucks.
That's their job!!
There’s no need to be sorry. I’d happily whack it into the ground. The difficult bit is shedding the excess speed you have to carry on windy days. That and spilling your tea.
Please remain seated while the captain bunny hops what's left of the aircraft to the terminal. Also we sell sandwiches.
Yes tell me about it ………………!
wow this is when the pilots really earn their money. Brilliant stuff
How much do they earn? In general?
@@hudycat depends, experienced pilots, £36,000 -£48,000 in a first officer role. captain £54,000 - £75,000. Those employed by major operators can earn £97,000 to more than £140,000.
@@danielleforder ohh 😲 thank you 👍
??? If the Plane would have been grounded....
Full throttle....
Daily Business....
They are Human, and if you have enough Money and some skills
Go your way!
By not knowing how to land?
Just to explain to some the last clip. Most probably, the pilots sensed the first bounce as being much higher but that didn't happen as the spoilers killed some of the lift as they had partially deployed. You can see the point when they actually elected to go around(watch the spoilers. When the plane is on the ground, they autostow when the thrust levers are advanced) which is actually early on. It take a bit of time for the engines to spool up(you know now when he actually started to go around, but notice how long before you saw the effect from the jet thrust) and if the speed is also low then much better to let the plane land, gain speed and rotate when the speed is correct. They could have started to bring the nose up immediately but then you go into tailstrike territory
Interesting commentary, thank you for explaining :)
Great catch, thought the same thing. Those spoilers went back in almost as fast as they came out. They called the go-around pretty much immediately on the touchdown.
Final straw might have been how far off centre they were?
@@ABowlofWeetabix Hi weetabix, I don't think so. Obviously we can't really get an idea of the lateral deviation from the video but the rudder is the clue for that, there is a large deflection on touchdown which is consistent with the decrab on a crosswind day then it is pretty stable. Most pilots who touchdown off the centerline, will quickly try to regain it, regardless and you would see more rudder action. You don't really see that here👍
Thanks for that, Skypert. Almost looks like the nose gear is way right of centerline, but hard to say.
My utmost admiration and respect for pilots , whilst we enjoy their skills
Impressed how this plane climbs back into the air after the pilots abort the landing. ,great footage too ,
How so? He is landing against the wind, that means he has 90 mph help. Overshoot and that is the logical thing to do.
Speedbird -when those throttles are pushed forward he has 75000 HP being available for a go around .
Happened to us in Vegas in 2017 "touch and go" as its called
respect for the pilots, but also respect for the engineers who designed those planes
2 minutes of complete explanation as to why air travel is so safe. I am never terrified on a plane (even landing on Ryanair in a thunderstorm). I am always terrified on the M25.
totally get it. Although not sure if you mean the traffic jams or the crazy people sitting on the motorway.
Ryanair pilots bash the planes around like hell. Done that, got the t-shirt, never again thanks.
@@Sandra-A I've never had a bad Ryanair landing interestingly. Last few were smooth as butter despite popular belief. Are we talking only about landings in bad weather?
@@Sandra-A think they are under time pressure, get in, reload and out to the next destination, unlike long haul for example!
I’m the same, I used to fly twice a week for 10 years and still do so once a month, and not once have I been terrified; on the motorway however, it’s like running the gauntlet these days. Since when did overtaking on the inside become a thing? As far as I know it’s illegal, yet it is now commonplace especially among van drivers, and I’ve yet to see or hear of anyone being punished for it unless it causes a crash. I always use a dash cam now, and send footage to the police on a regular basis.
💯💯💯
Huge weight on the shoulders of those pilots to get safety on the runway… Awesome machines with awesome people behind the controls..
Pilot had no choice but to abort as he lost control of the front half of the plane. The back wheels touched the ground but rather than risk crashing from a sudden crosswind he took back off for another attempt. Respect.
🛬🛬🛬🛬
Was just watching Heathrow airport on tv and seen you recording on top of the van keep smiling and keep vloging big like 👍👍keep up the good work 🇬🇧
The recovery to climbing out was impressively quick on that first attempt. Mind you he was helped back into the air by the landing gear! :D
The worst feeling is when you know you’re coming into land and then hear the engines go to full throttle.
So I live in Nova Scotia Canada. Since Tuesday we have had none stop rain and for the first two days very high winds! I am talking about 60+ hours of non stop rain! close to 200mm ! That wind and rain has been headed over to the UK since Tuesday! So the weekend show should produce some pretty cool landings!
So I live in the lower mainland, British Columbia, Canada? You want to talk about wind and rain? 😉
@@fifthbusiness1678 I saw what you guys got out there! What we got here was a drop in the bucket compared to you guys!
Great catch on that first landing he flew back up like a bird,,amazing pilots ,,well done guys,,
I'm SO excited for tomorrow!!
Your enthusiasm is as amazing as his touch and go..He finally touched down way too far down the runway to safely stop on a wet runway.
I don't think that was the reason. You can see they touch down pretty much on the marker, but speedbrake doesn't come up straight away. I think they made the decision to go around just as they touched down, it felt too sketchy, but they rolled down the runway a bit to regain some speed. That's my guess anyway!
Blancolirio sent me. Love the channel. I'm enjoying sausage, eggs and airplanes on the Connecticut coast. Keep up the good work, I'm an old pilot and really enjoy this.
Some days are diamonds and some days are stone. 🎼. These guys are good 👍. Thanks for the ride, glad I wasn’t on that flight, but those pilots are great.
That frist one looked like a mini micro burst hit it...close call.
Can you flippin adam and eve it ! 😎
years ago my wife and i where flying back from the dominican republic . when we where approaching manchester , the captain came over and said we where diverting to liverpool as the wind was too strong . then 10 minutes later we where told we where diverting to east midlands . we where bottling it . just before east midlands we where diverted back to manchester . scarey .
Why do pilots keep the wheels down for what seems like a long time when initiating a go-around?
thank God they’re such good and such expert pilots….. hope they’ll find a safe landing somewhere soon enough
I love it to fly in bad weather or stormy areas and shaking the aircraft ❤️
1:56 I love the excitement in his voice!
That is some good footage. Keep up the great work!
When I was flying back from Bucharest last week, plane hit a lot of turbulence, that so, cabin crew had to come and check no passengers was hurt by the turbulence,
wow great catch, Jerry! and with all things considered, Great landing by the pilots. or "landing". he took off again. no matter how much you get paid or how good you are, there are always times when a pilot won't have aperfectly smooth landing. as long as people are safe, thats what matters.
Glad to see you reach a milestone...touch n go
dat lick at 0:16 o.O them pilots are heroes for no splashing these machines all over the place
harsh conditions
godspeed ! to all the speedbirds
Everyone MUST hear the reaction from you Jerry! :D
I was landing into Laguardia Airport NY at night in heavy wind storm and the plane was rocking like that as we were landing and the whole plane went silent and broke out in applause when the pilot landed
That first jet..unreal...,lot of people had brown pants after that!!!
Excellent Brit pilots! 💛🙏🏼
That was fun!!
Love the commentary 😊
Wow will be here to see this
I held my breath Jerry. Thank god them pilots were able to control them airplanes ✈
Nothing but screams of sheer terror coming from that plane 😂
So excited! Maybe we will see a go around! 🌬 ✈️ I hear it will be 75MPH in some areas!
@Airliner World that to!
Yeah but at heathrow it'll be 30-40 mph gusts, in the north east of Scotland it'll be 75mph winds
I would expect 50 mph gusts you will see a lot of go arounds.
@@TheGalonator still a lot, I think it’s windier than that mate.
@@aviationin4k258 🤷♂️ at the met office app, it says the highest gusts at heathrow today will be 41mph whilst the lowest will be 33mph(basically and the day progresses, the wind speed increases. You can check for your self if you want.
I've been on a Monarch A321 performing a go-around after bouncing hard on the runway, and it was quite a rush/fright. My missus screamed, actually screamed. I don't know why the pilot chose to abort the landing as it was 30 degrees of hot Greek sunshine, no wind, no rain, nothing. But I think the most frightening part was after the hasty climb-out, the pilot eased the engines back and performed a hard 180° turn. It felt like we were dropping out of the sky. And yes, my missus screamed again!
I remember flying with Monarch, I never had a bad experience with them. I suppose you and your other half were just unlucky.
@@hme7519 ..... or lucky!
. . . . bet you wish you could provoke that response out of your missus!
@@MsVanorak .... she just squeals and pants nowadays.
That was a go around. Great decision. Fantastic
Respect- that you were out there in that weather! It was awful! Oh, and nice video 👍🏻
Hands to panic stations! It's gonna be a good one! Don't forget to Jerry ;)
Nothing like sound of those engines roaring on a Go Around. On board it's quite a rush to hear!
The car horn tooting at the right moment! Hilarious!!
Great video man! Thanks a lot for your work. Greetings from WAW :)
All three go-a rounds with the aircraft well into the climb and none of them got the gear up.
Amazing, very Nice catch Dude!! 😍👏👏
O.K., now THAT is heavy weather! Some solid piloting there.. if ya can't land it, go around, if ya can't stop power on and climb away. Kudo's!
That 787 is having landing gear inspection for sure
The first clip with car horn sounding is a couple of years old.... 😉 I remember commenting on it..... 😁👍
Thumbs up for your energy!
Thanks. Exciting stuff !
Forgive my ignorance but is it still a 'go around' if the wheels touch down? And once they have touched down does that interfere with the engines spooling up in order to take off again?
Fridays gonna be a blast at Heathrow
Thank you for sharing.
Forecast is it won't even gust above 38 tomorrow at Heathrow and that's late afternoon, so don't raise your hopes for anything very exciting.
and the max demo x wind component for 777 is 38kts.....and the direction is 80-90 from the right.....sooooo
These guys are something else..... im a terrified flyer but they are so in control...
So comforting to see pilots taking the option of a go around, rather than pressing on.
Keep calm and carry on.
Can somebody explain why they took off again when they seemed to be on the runway safely?
Maybe they landed too far in front of the sweet spot and decided to go around ???
Amazing skills
Btw the second clip of the 777, it's incredible to see how the pilots thrust their plane, we can see just after the touchdown they apply full throttle ( spoilers retracted ), and even when they notice they're on ground and they could stop, they do not put the throttle back and decide to go around
These are interesting and new to me. Just subbed ya! Love your channel
I understand airport runway configurations are made through prevailing wind studies. But do many UK airports have crosswind runways?
Bloody hell! What a pilot x
Love your energy! Please never shut up 😂
Congrats on the Touch&Go tho.
Wowww the BA first one was scary…I didn’t want to stay in that landing 😅😅😅
It was a bumpy attempt of landing. Incredible take-off angle and lots of shaking while climbing !!!
Not long ago I was on a flight witnessing just 10% of the total drama shown in this video and it was a tense situation, so I can't even imagine what customers felt inside of this huge plane!
Fantastic video
Oof that first one took a mighty whack. The way it dropped those last few feet must have been one hell of an experience. That's why we have highly trained professionals at the controls. Could have gone very wrong!
Nice vidéo. I enjoyed it.
Where was the big storm that was supposed to sweep across the Northern plains and Northeast at the beginning of this week?
Remember when i used to be a pilot and flying planes in windy weather is something else. Quite fun too be honest because you can get some distance if you make the paper planes correctly.
Incredible video!
You guys are too cool! ♥️
Pilot with balls of steel❤❤
I still can't believe that an aircraft is rock solid on the ground and a light feather in the sky
This is looks scary in video, but when you are in the plane you really feel it. I love roller coasters and anything that starts with extreme. But when you suddenly can see the runway from your window seat you know things are going to be scary.
When you clearly see the 787 being a masterpiece of engineering!! Even with the problems this futeristic plane has at the moment.
This happens in wellington all most every other day
That go around was because there most likely would have been damage to the aircraft if it was allowed to make that second bounce.
Heavy damage.
Totally awesome.
Pilot friends of mine who fly 777's say they prepare for this and experience this frequently . First Class passengers complain that they spill their Champaign , Give me a break !!!!
that idealing the grew mistake didnt use landing denmic power contro plus keep engine in fly position
Great stuff! On 777 I saw it coming because the spoilers did not show. Forget to arm?
Here at Aberdeen we have a red warning
100-120mph winds and 'massive' snow predicted in the Cairngorms tonight. No rescue helicopter will cope with that if anyone gets in trouble.
GREAT VIDEO!
I do not know why, but it is a lot of fun to watch Big Jets.
fantastic video friend
“Can you flippin adam and eve it!” What a punch line! 😆
Some great decisions made here!
This is fab! Thanks for the mention Jerry. Are you at Renaissance?
The new Murray Walker commentary 🤠
What really surprised me was how long they left the gear down after the go around was initiated.
Pilots with balls of steel; mad respect.
The pilot did a great job to avoid any mishaps.
