My brother plz, stop buying monitors 😂
looks like someone has to ...monitor his purchases
@@oussama7132thanks I hate it
He needs them for all his keyboards.
It's cute that you think he spent any money on it. In fact, he probably doesn't even have one at all. It's all a show, paid for by MSI.
Waiting for the ASUS ROG video :)
seeing plouffe without the hat is so weord
facts
simply awesome
Na he looks normal it ain't weird haha
it's like Linus with or without the beard
Considering that he is wearing hat for the whole video I am wondering why they did that for the thumbnail it doesn't even look like it's his forehead
I didnt even know Poof was bald
And it's cool

His hair went poof
Plouffe out here like "man I regret not waiting longer because this monitor is perfect" without realizing that tech moves so fast that if he were being patient for the perfect monitor, he'd be waiting forever.
Thank you, you said what I was thinking, only more concise. What does he think tech is just going to halt and his old product will reign forever? How does he not understand how it works yet?
I try and remind myself of that anytime I get that feeling. Even if you get the best it won’t be the best for long.
Its almost like its a sponsored video.... The number of times he has to say "the other monitor" is pretty funny
It’s not a new panel or anything. Clearly there was a flat panel model coming so if that’s the preferred option, should have waited.
@@MrEL91N facts I was thinking about this like 1 day ago

Here in Europe the Alienware is "the best gaming monitor" at the moment, for just 1150€ versus the MSI which is 1500€... that's a different story
And there is a promotion going on, I paid 1060 €
@@icksbocks where are u from? I’m from Italy

@@gingerman5123 oh yeah! I’ve got it for a while before the aw3225qf and it was amazing too, but i’ve changed it for a little bit more clarity cause i’m very sensible to the fringing issue of the text
Where?!
It costs 1400 € here in France, while the DELL costs 1100 €. Don't know why but that makes this one a very bad deal here
Yes Dell is much better option even if they was equal price u still go and buy DELL.
@@dreamseeker9207 The MSI has way more features. Imo it is the better product, so it's a no-brainer if you live in NA as it's cheaper too.
Not the case in Europe, where you've gotta decide if those extra features are worth like 300€ to you.

I'm part of the problem
whats wrong with it?
949$? It's 1649$ here in Europe...
We get shafted similarly here in Australia. High end parts are often 30-40% more expensive AFTER currency conversion.
Yep but it's usually a lot more than 30-40% more for a lot of these expensive products. This monitor for example is $2199 AUD which is $1453.74 USD which is about 51% more than what's mentioned in this video so it if had actually been the same price in AUD that it is in USD for Americans then it would be $1435.51 AUD so we're paying an extra $763.49 AUD for no reason.. Once again we get shafted...@@TheKazragore
Because Europe. Everything is more expensive in Europe.
@@TheKazragoreI just checked and it's $2200 here in Australia. A cool $600AUD more than the conversion plus GST would suggest it should be. Love the idea that we should just inherently pay more for everything, just because

Just want to point out, don't mistake this for the MAG 321UPX. MSI said the 27 and 32 inch MAGs will not support firmware updates, which would make me weary as an early adopter. Only the MAG 341CQP and the MPG series can be updated. It's worth it to pay the extra $50 for the MPG version if you go with MSI.
wth, why would they not support firmware updates
@@AlexDicy To cut costs, they removed some features including the USB Type-B port that you would need to update the firmware.
For example, the MAG 27" and 32" versions will never get fixes like these:
MPG 321URX QD-OLED Firmware Update Changes (Version Released February 27th, 2024)
- Fixed an issue when adjusting RGB Brightness under "RGB LED" doesn't change and then resets.

- Fixed a display abnormality when using Screen Size 1:1.
- Fixed an issue with Picture-in-Picture (PIP) mode that caused a white block phenomenon when "Auto Scan' is turned off and the monitor is power-cycled.
- Fixed an issue with PS5 2560x1440p VRR abnormality.
- Fixed Low Blue Light (yellowish tint) under “Color Temperature - Normal”.
- Optimize OSD Language for 29 countries.

@@CindersTV wow that's a lot of fixes for a monitor that has just been released. I wonder why they can't use the remaining USB-C to update it tho
@@AlexDicy According to their website, the USB C in the MAG 321UPX is only used as a video port like HDMI or Display Port. It also only has 15W charging compared to the 90W charging in the MPG. All the monitors I have owned recently use USB Type-B for firmware updates for whatever reason. Type A would be for peripherals, and Type C would be for video and power delivery.
I learned that the MSI monitors will also shut down after they do their automatic pixel refresh instead of going back into standby mode. Hopefully, they will fix this next because that would be annoying to deal with.
@@CindersTV alright, thanks for all the info!
At 10:24 it looked like a staff member was reaching from behind the camera until they suddenly interacted with bird house, lol

Yes, I saw the same thing, its really give me a shock. I'm watching it with LG C1 OLED, but man, OLED with HDR is truly impressive.
Heh..glad to see that I'm not the only one
i love it when the panel on these Reviews looks so sharp and clear on camera that the image could be edited in.

That image of the guy groping the birdhouses I literally thought was someone sticking their hand into the shot from out of frame before I realized he was touching the image.

Just got a G8 OLED (QD-OLED) last week, and I'm blown away by the picture quality. The viewing angles is the biggest surprise to me. It's like looking at a bright sticker! Zero color shifting.

@@redg2197 glossy finish. I haven't seen an OLED display with a matte finish yet.
Im happy with mine too.

Same. I haven't had the urge to buy a new monitor in a while, I have an LG 32GN63T-B in a 2 monitor setup and been wanting to fill the unused space and this one bought me in an instant. But turns out it is not available anywhere. We shall wait then.
fr 😢. all i need is a new monitor to complete my setup
5:10 - A monitor like this deserves to be on an arm. After switching to an amazonbasics (rebranded ergotron) monitor arm setup, I will never go back. The range of motion combined with all the freed up desk space is so worth it.
Yeah good luck finding one. I recently was on the market and ended up getting the Alienware 32 as I could actually find it. But if you're worried about the curve, I've never had a curved monitor and honestly don't even noticed it after two days on the AW3225QF. Side bonus, with the gloss finish (as opposed to matte anti reflective), curve helps with reflections. So I'd take the curve just for that.
But it's great that nowadays we're spoiled for choice with OLED.
10:25 - I thought someone from the set tried to touch the bird houses (or props) i nthe video 😂
I'm glad that Plouffe is confident enough to show in camera with no hat. Go for it! :D
Cheers to Young too.
I bought the 27in 360hz version of this monitor and I love it!! I just wish Discord would support HDR streaming, because right now anyone watching your stream sees a very washed out, bright image, and my friends and I stream our games every night. Unfortunately I'll have to keep HDR off until they support it.
The MSI QD-OLEDs are crazy, but damn did EU get screwed over on the pricing.
No brainer if you live in NA, not so much if you don't.
This is the first time I've ever seen a monitor that looks like I'm looking through an open window.. Through a compressed video. That's amazing.
OLED Care 2.0 is why I got the MSI version of this panel. It's a great feature.
Bald Plouffe has Default RuneScape Character energy and I'm here for it, someone get this man a Bronze Sword and Wooden Shield!
His head in the thumbnail was brighter than the monitor 😭
I have to admit, the footage from SDR viewer perspective is amazing here - at 10:44 I can see a pretty solid color reproduction on the reviewed monitor, despite me running older Dell U2720Q display.
what mouse would be great with it.... what display options or cords should you use.... What gpu's should you use at minimum with it to make sense in its purchase.
$950? that's not bad, in the UK everywhere has it on pre order for £1300
Yeah Europe got screwed HARD on the pricing. It's such a no-brainer if you live in NA, it's better and cheaper, but here you've gotta decide if the extra features are worth like an extra £300+.
@@TheAdamena facts ma men. that's why most of the people in uk and europe bought the new alien 4k. much cheaper and affordable . Right now waiting for the hp monitor 4k with 2.1 to be announced and showed to the public.

What do you think about buying this monitor with 2.0 displayport and the upcoming 50 nvidia series? Do you think is better paying 250 extras to have displayport 2.1??????? Thanks
Not much of a steal in the UK £1300 pre-order right now :(
Almost all 4K OLEDs will be around that 1100-1400 price point
car money for a plastic rectangle that lights up
@@emiel255 Thats the price for entry 55" OLED TVs...
@@DanielM.-mq4rm true but then you are stuck with an 55 inch OLED which is way too big for most people’s desktops plus not really a high refresh rate which also means that upgrading your pc with a new GPU in the future won’t be worth it as you won’t be able to get a lot of frames out of it cause of the low refresh rate unless you of course then also upgrade your monitor which will cost a lot
Something to think about especially since most people tend to keep their monitor for a long time
50£ more for the new asus 4k oled . this prices are insane in europe and uk

6:45 Yeah, but most people don't buy a VERY expensive monitor to own it for 3 years. I still have my old 24" 1920x1200 Dell that works well and I don't feel like replacing it.
My 14 year old 24" 1080p monitor finally died the other day, so this is why I'm here looking for an upgrade lol
Really looking at getting the new pixio oled monitor as I have had their monitors with 0 issues for the past 4+ years. One question I have is what is the life span of an oled monitor in terms of burn in? The warranty is good for 3 years but what is a reasonable estimate for life after that? Would hate to spend $700+ and need a new monitor in 4 years
Curve is so much more comfortable, I only notice it when I switch between a fell times, but is there, my eyes are so relaxed when I look at the curved display...
I am a fan of curved displays and so is anyone who has tried my rig and most have gone on to get one themselves.
So it's $949 which is €867, but it sales price here is €1300+ and in Germany €1400+. It's just not a good option 😢
To be fair. Over there the price is without taxes. But still way more expensive
Just found your channel today "taking my time and researching before I buy" 😂
Really enjoyed the vibe of the video. Chilled but everything I needed as a viewer. Subbed today.
As I'm from Scotland the availability and pricing is all over the place, the dell alienware models are a lot cheaper here and in stock all the time but I don't want curved 😂 been looking at the 27" 1440p 360hz models until recently I'm drawn more to these 4k versions as they are just a lot more flexible. Still use my series x from time to time.
Do you know if the msi version will get dolby vision in the future ?
Hey Plouffe, quick question, please respond:
Regarding Image Retention and your comment to not leave static stuff on screen for a long time - how do modern screens like that handle Game UI/HUD when gaming sessions take like 6 to 8 hours on a weekend hardcore session?
Chad Bald Plouffe
watching this on the MPG 321URX right now. its incredible. colors are way better than my lgc2 and text fringing is nonexistent. the KVM, USB c input with PD, and nice menu navigation is just awesome. and in the US it came with a $100 steam gift card after leaving a review. cant beat it.
I think you’re on a high with your new toy. These monitors are great but the panels are higher quality on the TVs still.
Good luck buying this monitor. Been trying since last month and they have just drip fed this release
The picture on the display is so clear and vivid it looks like it was comped in on a blue rectangle. Absolutely mindblowingly vivid color. It looks “real”!
price getting better but I'd still take a TV. LG C3 at 48" is $1k. While it does not have 240hz, 120hz is plenty especially on OLED
Absolutely true , those monitors are double overpriced and forced people to bother with clicks hidden behind the screen instead of a convenient remote control 😫😫😫😫😫
@@LEMON48 another good point!
Absolutely, I’m still gaming on my C1 48”. Bought the LG Oled 27” and was left in the dust. I use it occasionally. Felt like I wasted my money.

@@zodiacfml I have a rog 240hz ips panel which I use it for school/work. I'd say is my main panel. The only reason I use the 27" Oled is to play COD. Gaming on the C1 is far superior. HDR, sound, everything.

We're quite the minority though so I don't think it's gonna happen.
Maybe when QD-Oled becomes so cheap they put it in office monitors.
@@RandomUser2401Not everyone wants a huge ass monitor.
They are going to start making smaller OLEDS from what I’ve heard. A lot of people have been asking for them. I’m not sure when that’s going to happen though, soon I hope.
It's bonkers how sharp it looks compared to the rest of the video, which is mindblowing. Was this a composite video? If not, that's absolutely wild.
I bought a ViewSonic VX4380-4K 43, for productivity mostly but I gane on it more and more. what monitor (flat and 16x9 ish) in the 40" to 43" range would you recommend? would this MSI have a version in that range?
Curved 16:9 TV's only existed for like a year a decade ago and were swiftly and luckily deprecated. I just do not understand why monitor makers keep thinking it's a good idea.
When you sit closer to the monitor, the curve makes your peripheral vision, especially in gaming, a lot more active and important. At least, that's my experience, which is why I prefer the curved monitors.
That being said, non-ultrawide curved monitors still baffle me.
It is only useful with (super) ultrawides think 34 inch and above. Anything lower than that is just ridiculous and doesn't even look good most of the time
Way big difference when you're sitting 12 ft away from a curved TV versus less than 2 ft away from a curved monitor.
It's just marketing: ohmegerd curvd monitah gotta have that. I actively despised the curved on my 32" monitor whenever I was aware of it, and now I sit 1.2m away from an 42" LG C3 and it is fine. It was almost liberating to not have a curved screen.
False comparison fallacy. Curved TVs were stupid because you sat too far away from them for the curve to make any difference AND it impacted the viewing angles in a negative manner. It was a marketing gimmick that only detracted from the experience.
The curve of a monitor at proper distances absolutely benefits the users, because it requires less head movement. In fact, you can technically move the monitor closer to you because you're able to take in more of the screen.
Does the camera seem a little wobbly in this video compared to others? Very sick monitor, I think it's time for an upgrade.
Hey. This might be a simple question. But why does the panel look a little purple in the off state @ 3:09. Will that affect the black level of the panel, or is the camera somehow distorting the actual color?
Thanks
Without disllayport 2.0 , it can't even reach 4k 240hz

I have a new system I'm building with a 4090 Strix OC. I want to work out what monitor to get. The LG WOLED 32 inch monitor isn't out yet in the UK and I'm not sure whether to wait for it or look elsewhere.
What is the protection on the screen like for shipping? Dell has been shipping with packaging that has been scratching the coating off the screen....
I'm thinking of upgrading my monitor. I will have to put the MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED on the top of the list. I'd love a 32" flat 4k OLED panel.
Hey whats the colour fringing like? Because my 1440p qdoled has a big problem with it
I swear at 10:24 I thought he was going to get fist bumbed but its in the scene on the monitor lmao 😅
This MSI or ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM which one is better ?
i have 4080 and want to take full advantage
I like the thinness so much I'd love for a screen with the electronic deported in a separate box that you could hide under the desk.
I'm a bit disappointed that the Lab section is so short and provide none of the metrics pertinent to gaming (input delay, detailed response time at various refresh rates...).
Is this something that will be expanded in the Lab in the future? I really hoped the lab would provide detailed enough data, since neither rtings nor Hardware Unboxed (Monitor Unboxed) can afford to test litterally every monitor out there, so it would be GREAT to have another good source of thorough monitor testing!
I think its worth mentioning that the step down, the MAG version, doesnt offer firmware updates where this one does. That super important for OLED should they be updating the image retention algorithm.
Yea... I jumped on the aw3225qf as well and while I love it, I think this one would have been worth waiting for. I do like the curve when playing FPS games but that's about it.
Glad there is finally a 27inch QD-OLED 32 inches is just to big for my preferred sitting distance still way to expensive for me to buy one right now but maybe in a year
So what kind of PC spec are you talking to get the most out of this, without getting into silly money? Given this is over $1650 in the UK.
So I have a Dell S2716DG I just upgraded to a 4070 ti super and was wondering what would be a good upgrade to a similar monitor. I still want 1440p I don't care for 4k and 27-32 inch is my range. I do love that I get 4 3.0 USB ports but the TN is definitely showing its contrast weakness and I wanna see these games with HDR. Any suggestions would be dope.
Q3 and 4 seem to be shaping up for some insane monitors based on ces coverage. Can't wait
got mine about 2 weeks ago, loving it. Just wish I could disable the Panel Protect that kicks off automatically every once in a while. Monitor will go black for a few minutes and the only way to get out of it is to turn the monitor off and on.
This monitor looks like absolute perfection, like...look at how it looks on camera, it looks like an irl painting with moving objects, so, imagine how it looks up close.
Now everything same, but 23'' 1080p panel and im buying 3 right now.
people get used to huge prices for components so easy. Just 5-10 years ago paying $1000 for a monitor was insane.

😥 here in Australia its on pre-order for $2199, its crazy expensive for some reason.
im looking at buying 5 monitors now im looking at flying over seas to pick some up
When is this monitor going to be available?
would you say its better then ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM?
what id like to see more is monitors with remotes or useing the usb cable to have software controls of the monitor setting
As a fellow early adopter of the AW3423DW, I feel your pain. I use two monitors and I would love to get just a tiny bit of real estate back with this monitor as opposed to my ultra wide. The ultra wide is nice and all, but I could do without the curve as well. This is tempting, not only for the higher refresh rate, but also 4K so I can put my 4090 to use.
I just bought a "certain other " curved monitor. Here in Australia, it was $1800 straight from manufacturer. The Msi Retails for $2400 out here, no MSRP drop for us. $600 cheaper is a big deal.
Currently the MSI MEG 342C is currently my top runner for my next monitor. I do want the curve (never had one, but i want one), the built in KVM, and HDMI 2.1 so I can hook up my console to it if I want (compared to the Alienware for example)
What about the magenta tint people are reporting when you use QD-Oled during the daytime? How much of an issue is that ?
Not even close to that price in Australia - we can only get it for $1450 USD
I love how every 3 months Plouffe makes a new "I made a mistake" monitor video
5:40 mentions how its nice and thin.... after making a point of there being no need for it to be thin when its chunky in the middle anyway. Felt a bit odd, I'm guessing it was a sponsor point.
The video on the monitor looks so good it sometimes almost seemed pasted on. It looks incredible.
4:35 Why when it off it looks purple? The "off" state isn't suppose to be quite black?
No dedicated power button, instant deal breaker
What games could you play at 4k 240hz and nice high quality settings?
Is this dsipaly considered an 8-bit display or 10-bit display and if it's considered a 10-biy display then is the Samsung galaxy phone displays like the galaxy s24 ultra which is AMOLED not oled, considered a 10-bit display?
And if you have a 10-bit Bluray movie then can you watch it on an 8-bit panel? Will you get any enhancements by watching a 10-bit movie on an 8-bit panel or display?
This monitor looks interesting; I'm glad they're gonna have firmware updates for it unlike their new MAG series. I'm waiting for the Aorus 240hz OLED before I purchase anything, but this is a strong contender.
The image from the monitor is SO good, my brain keeps thinking it's not real an was inserted in post.
Portrait mode would be very interesting for very niche cases, like playing sound voltex konasute
