Should government devices have ANY social media apps???
No but people install them, also remember contractors work for the government sometimes come w private company phones that are not directly attached to the government policies. So the contractor would come with the cell into the office. With TikTok running in the back. Also the greatest risk many people not safety minded are not cautious about what the information they share with other people.
TikTok having access to everything on a users phone means that they can see the users email.

Most companies have training about not using unsecured phones to do company business. People don't seem to understand the difference between companies operating in a democracy vs dictatorship.

The only difference is that we know for the fact, that google, meta and apple abused that data (thanks to Snowden), while we can only assume what's going on with TikTok.
And while TikTok may know your email, it CAN NOT read your emails.
You even need to explicitly allow it to see your contacts (or images) AFTER the installation. That's something that NO APP can do (at least on Android) without you specifically allow it.

Democracies and the companies in them are not perfect, but there are checks and balances on their power. The authoritarian CCP regime has no checks on its power. Ruler Xi is like most power obsessed dictators and will use whatever tools are available to him, including TikTok, to further his unchecked power.
Tiktok can even download zip files and execute binary without the device owners knowledge in addition to opening other apps, like banking apps etc.... FB doesn't do that! Also TT gets your contact list, and much more data than FB.

The differences are those companies don't directly answer to the government, where as Chinese firms do when required if you look at firms such as Tencent or Alibaba, because CCP is above the law. (although sometimes I think it's a good thing because those tech Giants are abusing their power such as monopoly or trying to bypass central bank system).

It goes well beyond that. If among 100 persons, 7 persons have Tiktok, they can know the whole network and connection of the 100 persons. And even if you don't show your data, China still know when there is network activity near a sensitive site like a parliament, a military base. They can even take pictures and turn on the microphone. So the fact it's a private phone and not a working phone is NOT relevant. It should never be installed.

If you've ever been in the audience for a TV show (I've been to many), you can see this infrastructure more clearly.
Think of it as a "head up display", that's pointed at the TV personality.
The video camera can shoot through it, pointing at the TV personality, without having it show in video.

Tiktok pushes only destructive feedback, it's a tool used to destroy our fondations, human and moral structures though pushing destructive content. With algorithms they also shift the opinion of any type of group, whether they feel sympathetic to China or not.
Tiktok is managed by the communist party of China and their goal is to make China stronger. It does not have private financial goals. Tiktok is a tool to take over the world, and this is not a hyperbole.
