Yay!! Do the ironing pad SOON! It looks so useful, especially with the grid. I've been looking too, since I saw yours and there is nothing out there. Looking forward to this a ton.
I recently purchased the Brigit Tee pattern, and I’m starting my pattern prep and fabric shopping for it. This is the second of your patterns that I have purchased, and I am so impressed with how well-drafted they are and how clear your instructions are. It is truly a delight to feel completely confident as I begin a project with one of your patterns.
Thank you so much, Lorie! That is so nice to know. I really do try to make them nice for y'all so I am glad you are enjoying the patterns :) The sewalong will be going live today for that pattern!
Ooooh!!! I’m so excited for the new square-necked t-shirt pattern! I’ve been admiring all the ones you’ve been wearing for months - can’t wait for that! Love watching your process and your projects come together; it’s so inspiring. Happy Anniversary! 😊
Awesome! I've been playing with the construction for the square neck tees so much and I think I'm finally happy enough to make the pattern :) Thanks a bunch!
Ooh…eyeing the construction on that square neckline!! 🤩 Looking forward to it and totally hear you on the Big List/Pull Away conundrum. Lots of that going around, I think. 💜
You can make that ironing pad much like a pot holder but add some type of board so it can be transported. I have one that I use but it’s only fabric. It is more practical to use than an ironing board.
I love your ideas - and the ironing pad project is awesome - I have a thick wool ironing mat I bought from somewhere ...that's my table top ironing surface -
Happy anniversary 💞💞💞 I agree, it's overwhelming to have a long to-do list and often it stops me from doing anything! Love your winter sewing ideas! And I think the ironing pad is a great idea! I currently iron on my wooden kitchen island benchtop 🤣 I would make an ironing pad for sure!
I love your square neck tee. I was noticing that the construction looks a bit different than one I tried (and failed at!) The neckband was mitered corners…it proved to be my undoing! I think you have a winner there. 😊
Thanks, Denise! I have made so many of these things, trying to get them just right. I feel like this version is my best so far (and it is a quick and easy sew)!
@@shellylemons I have a chemo port scar but I don’t really care anymore if it shows, lol. But width seems to be the issue, and this pattern looks good in that regard, as you suggested. I hope you have many cancer free years ahead of you. 💕
@@shellylemons I wasn’t saying that you had a port scar. I just was saying that I too had a scar to deal with. Best wishes to you and have a great day.
Thank you for sharing how you pretreated your wool. I will be making a wool jacket in the near future and need to pretreat the wool but wasn't really sure how to do that.
Wayfair has a Omnigrid foldaway cutting and pressing station. Reg. $55, now $32. This looks very handy. The ironing board takes up so much space and can be cumbersome. I don’t know what it is compared to what you have.
❤ A big yes to all of the above! Your square neck tees and updated tees sound perfect for your next pattern, can’t wait to see it come out. Lots of great chatter about the Birch waistcoat for the fit adjustability, which we all need. I’ve been a slips-of-paper/sticky note freak in recent years and need to adopt a notebook for my sewing. I use notebooks for everything else, so why haven’t I for sewing😅. Inspiring vid today. Love the dark green coating- perfect! Hope you had a lovely anniversary!
I'm so excited to see how the shirt hacks/pattern and iron pad come out! And I appreciate you taking it slow and being more intentional, that's my goal this year with sewing as well. 💕
OH MY GOODNESS YES!! I am so happy to hear that you will be releasing a square neck Knit top!! its something I have been wanting but have not been able to find a pattern!! Cannot wait for that!! (any chance if you do a sew along for that pattern, could you provide info on how to raise the neckline on that type of pattern??)Thank you!!
Your square nech tee shirt is so cute... I like the long sleeves but get too warm in a crew neck... i would love a versatile tee shirt with some cute necklines... as for the ironing pad yes please... I often travel with my sewing n would love to make one... thank you...
Thank you so much for this video! Happy Anniversary! And yes please do that ironing pad!! I appreciate your passion for sewing and all the projects you teach us, I’m preparing to make some things from your site. I too am not used to planning (in a book) my sewing but I’m going to. Thanks again!
Congratulations on your anniversary, cannot wait to make the vest I have a few fabrics in my stash that would be perfect. I love your square neck top it looks really neat at the neck edge. 🧵🪡💕
Oh, I can't wait for that tee pattern! And Wawak has a "Heavy-Duty Heat Reflective Ironing Blanket" that might make a great layer between the chipboard and the grid fabric. Quick and easy! Plus it's probably big enough for two.
I’m very interested in the ironing pad. I’m in California I’m done with my winter sewing mostly but enjoy your channel. May check out the square neck tee.
So excited for your projects! Looking forward to the square neck tee and the ironing pad. And please make a tee version of that half placket top. I have a sweater I’ve been eyeing that is constructed that way and I can’t afford and haven’t found a pattern for 😊 love your videos. Keep up the great work!
You’re so good at giving fit advice and giving tips so I’m very excited for your square neck pattern and video! Oh!! And the ironing pad. Yes please. Happy 9th anniversary :-)
So glad! The navy blue fabric is a kind of velvety knit from JoAnn (I bought it a while back--not sure it is is still there, but it is really comfy and cute fabric)!
Oh yes! I’m excited about the ironing mat project. I have been looking high and low for the one you have and can’t find it anywhere! Looking forward to seeing your tutorial. Happy anniversary btw and hope you are having a great new year so far.😊
Hope you a wonderful 9th wedding anniversary!! I do love your square neck tee but I’m very petite and don’t think it would work for me but I’m thinking about buying your tee pattern . Looking forward to your next project!😊
Speaking of t-shirts... I love the comfort of a jersey shirt but I feel like I'm looking for something a bit more elevated that lasts longer. Regular tshirts just seem worn out after a while and I become very uninspired to wear them. Do you have a video about knits / materials / etc. For different styles? I've liked modal or bamboo in the past but when it's too thin it feels too slinky. Hope I'm making sense haha
Yes I know exactly what you mean! I should talk more about selecting knits when I do the next knit project, thanks for mentioning that. The modal and bamboo feel so nice but I never end up wearing them because of how slinky they are (unless it's pajamas!). :)
Happy Anniversary Casey! Isn’t love grand!? My 27th is coming in May!! I really can’t wait to see the peacoat finished!! Also, I loved your Clare coat, I really want to make that pattern at some point!!!
Thank you! I'm getting excited to finally work on that peacoat! I just ordered a bunch of interfacing and lining fabric and am planning to hit the ground running as soon as it arrives. The Clare Coat is such a great pattern (Closet Core Patterns is amazing!). I made that yellow coat and my first puffy coat with that pattern. It's a winner! If I hadn't shrunk the sleeves on that coat I would have worn it so much more 😅 It's a shame because it really is a beautiful coat...
I really liked that clare coat.. are you planning to remake with pretreatment? Or a variation? I would need a sew-a-long. I cant wait to see all your creations this year!!
Happy Anniversary! Can't wait for the new t-shirt pattern and the folding ironing pad! I love the pink/mauve fabric of your first t-shirt. Would you mind sharing where and when you bought it?
Hi, I'm a senior and would like to make clothes thst fit rather than buy plus size and have to take it in. My body is odd shaped. Lol what I mean, I'm plus petite, have smaller top and huge bottom because of front and back oversize. If I buy a dress pattern it will not one side either top or bottom. I would like to make my own basic size pattern taking my body measurements. I live alone and there is no one to help me. What can I do? I don't have anyone I would feel comfortable enough to help me with it.
Yay!! Do the ironing pad SOON! It looks so useful, especially with the grid. I've been looking too, since I saw yours and there is nothing out there. Looking forward to this a ton.
Will do! haha :) I even had my mom scouring the internet for an ironing pad--she is quite the internet sleuth and even she couldn't find one! 😂
Search Quilter's Cut & Press. You can use your rotary cutter on one side and iron on the other. I found mine at Walmart when I was visiting family.
@@ava9387Hmmm, Quilter's Cut & Press, I'll try it.

Thanks, Paula Jean! And it is that time of year for making big plans and not following through! haha
The new shirt pattern is perfect even with my lumpectomy scar. The square neck isn’t as wide. My scar is directly over my heart.
Loved the minor change on the skirt. Happy anniversary!

Happy anniversary! Hope you both had a wonderful dinner! Using a planner is a really good idea! I'll have to co-opt it!
Thank you, Kay! I love using that planner--so far it has been the only one I really like and will actually use!
Happy wedding anniversary
Thank you so much 😊
Hello Casey , Happy Wedding Anniversary , watching from Philippines.
Thank you so much! :)
Thanks for the wool fabric tip.
Your bucket hat is one of the first sewing projects I ever made! Would be so cute in sherpa fleece! And, you look so great in navy btw!
Aw, I'm so glad you made it!! I was getting excited for the fleece version when gathering images for this video :) And thank you! I love wearing blue!

I love that style. I’m careful with low square necks because of my lumpectomy scar. This isn’t as low nor wide.

@@denisedorsey2889 it isn’t the port scar. It’s my lumpectomy scar. I had two surgeries because radiation caused an infection so I have a divot.

An ironing pad pattern is very welcomed!
My aunt, who was pro seamstress, would put wool fabric between moist sheet for 24hours. Hope that helps.
So happy to hear you're sharing how to make the ironing pad. I've been so inspired by it since I saw it the first time. 🙂
It's such a great little pad--I use it constantly and want others to experience its awesomeness! haha
