I'm so glad people are finally interested in garment sewing again. For decades it seemed, there was no interest and therefore no stores that supplied my addiction. It was a lonely time, lol. Thank God for the comeback.
This is goals! Amazing work! I started sewing again after years of losing my sew-jo. I made two T-shirts and a pair of linen ankle pants and boy did it remind me how frustrating it can be to make pants. But now that I’m reminded of all the things I need to think about with sewing garments I think the next thing I make will be much easier and fun.
I couldn’t believe my eyes I am 70years old and when I was 27 years old I bought the Style pattern to make a sports skirt and still have the pattern in my collection it’s the only one I have left from back in the day.Style patterns were my favourite such a good fit for me.I love all your makes and the tutorials.Susan from England.
Yes, I love the Style patterns! I have a couple that i was able to get when I found all those vintage patterns and they really are great patterns. Another one i have is for some pleated pants, so cute and now those are making a big comeback!
You had a productive summer! I like the simplicity of your style. It works well for you. I find the patterns you chose to be classics, which is nice because you should be able to use them summer after summer. Thx for sharing!
You’ve been busy, Casey. I know I’ve seen all your makes videos, but seeing everything at once really underscores how much drafting and sewing you’ve done. I agree, I love summer and I enjoy sewing summery things. I’m looking forward to seeing your plans for fall. 💕
Very busy! It always surprises me how much I've made each season haha. Excited to share more fall projects soon! Been buying fabric--time to start making! :)
I made the tote bag as my first ever sewing project and I LOVE it! I use it all the time and get so many compliments, so thank you for making that video tutorial. It made me so excited to see what else I can make!
Loved this vid. I think I saw all these as you posted. I really hope you get lots of subs and do well with you tube as you are super talented and so easy to understand. thanks
Congratulations on the sponsorship! I remember in a previous video you mentioning about how you weren't at a point where you could get sponsorships so its awesome to see you get starting to get them! Would you ever do a detailed video about how to tell what is a quality fabric when fabric shopping? Despite all the hate that polyester gets and love that cotton gets, I know there is good quality polyester and poor quality cotton but I have a really hard time determining what is good or bad.
That is a good idea for a video, I have been wanting to do a deeper dive on fabric! I agree, some polyester is actually quite nice and some natural fibers can be not so great, too. For the most part, I just touch EVERYTHING haha...but I could definitely share my strategies for what to look for in store and online! And yes, I finally got a sponsor! I was very very excited for this sponsorship (thank you!!). And I love Skillshare, so it was a great fit!
Great video, I always love watching your videos. You are inspiring me to try my own hacks and ideas for self drafting simple pieces. Love the Poppy blouse pattern which I purchased as soon as it came available.
Thanks so much, Bonnie! Glad you have enjoyed the poppy blouse. I am excited to get more wear out of mine this fall (I also want to make a Poppy Dress!).
I would love to see a video on the vest. I love that and it’s trending now. The shops want a small fortune for the little thing. Love your videos and your style of sharing. Thank you for all you do.
Love these projects! I also have a large head and made a bucket hat for myself last year - so great to be able to make stuff that fits perfectly! The Lutterloh LBD video you did last week was great. I hadn't heard of that system before and I'm considering buying their plus-size system!
I love summer too and am sad that it’s about over! It always goes so fast!! I have been sewing my fall clothing for a couple months now. It’s coming along nicely! Btw, Nippies could take a note from Skillshare! 😂 Your summer wardrobe is very well rounded! I like how you change what hasn’t worked or you weren’t wearing to fit into your life better instead of leaving it in your closet! I truly look forward to each of your videos! You’re so informative, easy going and a lot of fun to watch!! You are definitely my type of people, Casey!! See you next week, enjoy!
I really relish every moment of summer!! I've always loved it (probably had a lot to do with being off during the summer as a kid!). Trying to prepare myself for the cold Michigan winter ahead 🙃 Thanks so much for watching the videos each week and showing up here for me! I appreciate it so much! This channel has been so much fun!
I just found your channel and I’m so glad. Really enjoy your content. I made your Fern top a couple of times and just love that pattern. Would love to see more! Thanks!
Very nice sense of style developing! I love how everything goes together easily. The floral dress, now top, is a favourite of mine. Your hacks are simple and effective. Actually, your whole wardrobe is simple and effective. It must be your personality. I could use more of that in my own life.
Probably about 15 years ago I crochet a similar top to your crochet top for my daughter. She had sent me a picture and said can you make this and I did. Turned out great but it stretched out. I love how yours is a repurpose.
You have the legs for a shorter skirt! You look so cute. I hope to learn a lot more from you. I will scroll through all your previous videos, thank you for your channel. I really enjoy it and I find myself clicking to watch you videos as soon as I get notifications.
I think I watched your videos for each of these makes but never would have guessed there were so many! I love them all, especially the tops and pants. Can't wait to see what you have lined up for the fall :).
I love everything you made. My favorites are the tie strap polka dot dress, the couture lace dress, and the full length wide leg pants. They all look so professional. I don't even sew but I enjoy your channel. I do have a sewing machine but I am intimidated by it so I haven't used it.😁 I hope to find someplace to learn how to sew. Then dip my toes in the water by sewing something simple. I adore linen and hope that fabric will be beginner friendly. Anyway thank you for your useful entertaining and informative channel.
Thank you, Victoria!! So glad you are enjoying watching me make stuff! :) And linen is so nice to work with and easy to care for, one of my favorite fabrics for garment sewing. Great for beginners and seasoned sewists!
What an amazing collection of spring/summer pieces! I'm inspired as we're in spring here in Aus! 🌼☀️ I still think about those button up midi skirts you made - I'd love to make one, I've just never gotten around to it since watching the video! And, I had no idea you had Skillshare classes, that is awesome! I wish I hadn't quit (I went for months and months not using my membership). Maybe I'll rejoin 😉 I hope I can get to a place where I can take a pattern and hack it like you, do, or know how I can add or subtract or change parts of it - your knowledge and skills are so impressive 😍
Thank you so much! I know--I feel like I get so inspired by the makes being shared from Australian sewists as they are wrapping up their seasons too! :)
Is it possible that you can do a tutorial on how to add lace to a denim jacket? I have a lot of 1 inch to 2 inch lace that I want to add to a denim jacket.
I wear a shorter dress because I am 5’4” and longer dresses make me look really short. I’m fortunate that I have skinny legs at 55 and my daughters tell me that I good looking legs. My sister even makes fun of the fact I can pull skinny jeans up over my knees. Lol
Casey. Hello. I just discovered your channel. I have been trying to find jumper dress, may be called something else, for over a year. I am plus size, and but I rarely find jumper dresses. I have never made my own outfit, but have about 30 patterns. Okay, I want to start.
That's great! You might also try searching for a "pinafore"...that kind of sounds similar to what you are looking for. Helen's Closet patterns has a pattern called the York Pinafore and they have a good size range: bit.ly/3TCK6el I also used my Hana Dress pattern to make a pinafore style dress out of corduroy a while back, and that pattern also goes up to size 30: bit.ly/3F1CWMi . Hope that helps!

Love the pillowcase tank! You could make some matching shorts!

Is it possible that you can do a tutorial on how to add lace to a denim jacket? I have a lot of 1 inch to 2 inch lace that I want to add to a denim jacket.
Great video! Just wanted to say that I would love to see a pattern for the waistcoat!!
Thank you! When I tried it on for the video, I remembered how much I really liked it and it made me want to revisit the pattern!
Wow ! So much work done. I am currently struggling with making two tops for me. Looked very easy but …… it’s not.
Where can I get the pattern for the midi linen skirt? It's so beautiful.
I wear a shorter dress because I am 5’4” and longer dresses make me look really short. I’m fortunate that I have skinny legs at 55 and my daughters tell me that I good looking legs. My sister even makes fun of the fact I can pull skinny jeans up over my knees. Lol
I love the shorter skirts! :)
Everything is so great! You mentioned a fabric store in East Lanning? Which one, please?
Thanks! Yes, Seams Fabric! They always have a gorgeous selection!
