Only thing I have to say here is that I'm so glad I never got the Platinum version of this SUV. SR5 is the best since it don't have a lot of cool tech that will break down over time.
I have a 2008 Platinum and the left rear is sinking low after sitting at night. Should I replace the bags or just switch to coils and shocks ? Are the bags easy to get in and out ?
@@kongwoo5671 I ended up buying the airbag off eBay, in stalled myself. If you have some experience it’s pretty simple. It’s been a year and all good so far. The bags get micro holes from dust allowing slow leak over time
Thanks alot My advice to you is to adjust the sensors to low position after completing the height settings to let the compressor start and build up the air pressure. 0 air pressure and sensors at the normal position compressor will never run
Amazing it worked, great video. I also aked two of my brother who are professional machanic and they didnt know anything about this issues. Great stuff
Very informative. Thank you. Love your videos. I have the 2010 Platinum with 70 K miles. Any tips on upcoming maintenance so I don’t get ripped off by a mechanic on needles maintenance services ?
Coolant change is a good idea, its 10 years old. Front Differential fluid and rear differential fluid should be changed if it's not been replaced. Transfer case fluid should be changed if it's not been replaced. Brake fluid needs changed too. Power steering fluid should be changed. Air filter inside cabin should be changed every year. Engine Air filter should be checked every year and replaced if it's dirty.
Where did you get the info on these readings? The dealer I called said they do not see many with issues so they do not work on many. They want you to bring it in and at 200 an hour it could be quick for them to figure out or 1000's and no fix.
@@repairvehicle No point. It is just a question. My Sequoia 2005 behaves weirdly. Sometimes it sags down to the bottom. Then it lifts up to normal. But it is always even, both sides. Do you have an idea what it could be?
Mine when i put it on high position. After i run over 60kmh it will go back to normal hight. Is that normal? Is there any way to keep it on high position all the time?
Repairvehicle i got 2018 sequoia platinum. Owners manual says it will back to normal if the speed goes above 40-60 km/h maybe there is another way to shut off a sensor, fuse or something so it will stay the hight that i want it.
There is no way to disable, unless you modify software. Driving with high height causes uneven tires wear and suspension wear. Why do you want to drive in high height?
My air compressor pumps comes on sometimes and I did touch it it's very hot also checked everything eles there is air in the lines it's just not alot of ait coming through
@@repairvehicle first owner and yea someone did hit the rear panel about 2 months ago drivers side the bumper was messed up yea the side bumper it is also a 2007 sequioa 4.7 you think the accident caused? Yeah it comes on sometimes and not all the time and compressor was on for about 5minw and totally hot but yeah it was hit on the drivers rear panel it has about 170k
Compressor will be hot when it's running. If you have lights on for your air suspension on the dashboard then you have a problem. Or your compressor keeps running for long time to keep system pressurized then it might have a problem. Air lines could be leaking due to accident.
@@repairvehicle okay I'll check the compressor comes on sometimes not always when it does it will stay on for a while also no lights on the dash normal operation but there is air in the lines I checked the selonoid valve
@@repairvehicle thats weird cause there are electronic connections and wires to the front shocks... rear has air bags but the front does have electronic running to the struts.........is the front suspension only activated with the ride control (Sport, normal, comfort)? The owner's manual says that the high height is for rough roads... how would lifting only the rear be helpful...seems like front should go up as well.
All 4 struts have wires connected to adjust firmness on shocks. It can have very smooth ride in comfort mode or bumpy ride in sport mode. You have gas tank in the back and cargo. If you drive rough road you want to protect gas tank by raising rear of the vehicle. However, it's more for adjusting vehicle hight when loaded or trailer is connected.
@@repairvehicle thank! so the front definitely does not raise when using the height control... only the rear... correct? ps - watching your 2012 review now..its very good!
I'm confused by the sequence. I put in manual mode and lowered - then shutoff car - then jacked up car to 13-5/8"- adjusted sensor to read 2.36V- lowered car and turned back on and I am still off
I watched 5-6 times last night. Did the above sequence and turned Car on (still in manual mode) turned off manual mode and put in normal. Now height measures 14" in normal mode.
dlafaver, I will watch my own video and I will get back to you by tomorrow morning. At this point I just don't remember details and what I have said in the video. This is why I need to watch my own video.
What is your vehicle model number and year? Also, what is your tire size? Did you purchase the harness with wires for the sensors adjustment? did you drive the vehicle around for few minutes so that computer can re-adjust height? Because after driving, i have put my car in P and let the engine running, then I measured the height and difference between left and right was according to factory allowed specs.
So to set it to hi, just move the link all the way down?. I want to put a 3" leveling kit with the diff. drop and want to set the back to hi. Any help?
I have two additional videos on my channel on the same subject and they should answer your question. If they don't answer your question, let me know and we will go from there.
The reason why I am asking you to watch other videos that I have made on same subject is because I don't remember and I would have to watch my own videos to refresh my memory.

I am not too impressed with Sequoia air suspension design. I would rather have hydraulic suspension just like they have on Lexus LX 570

Find a leak first before start replacing stuff. Sounds like leaking bag. I have not replaced bags, don’t know how easy or hard

Mine has just one sensor, in the middle.
It doesn’t matter two or one sensor. You might have bad sensor or valve is not working properly on the compressor
Молодец хороший английский 😉👍
How can I get the information about the right hight of my 2008 sequoia? Mine is way too low in the "normal" position

2008-2020 platinum only. Before 2008 some have air suspension.
Not all, SR5 don't have Air Suspension
