@smokey2459 not at all. I still see Sequoias like mine going for the same sort of price. Always amazes me because they can last such a long time. I removed the rear and middle seats in mine and it's like a pick up truck but better. I have lost count of the times I have slept in the back saving on motel rooms. And the amount of stuff you can get back there is amazing, plus it's great in the snow and fantastic for towing. Intend to keep for as long as possible.

I just spent several grand refurbishing my 2008 5.7L sequoia with 219k trouble free miles. New all over paint. New rear wiper motor. New third brake light. New headlamps. New bumper. New $900 touch screen radio. New door speakers. New struts and shocks. New windshield. New serpentine belt. New idler pulley. New tensioner. New OEM air intake. New all weather cargo mat. Straight piped from the cats back. Still runs like new. Much better than what’s available on the market now.

I replaced my wife's 17 suburban with one of these (2012 platinum) with 145k miles on it. It has 251k on it now and we've never been happier. Yes more gas but in just the two years of having that used suburban, it spent a lot of time in the shop.

Great recommendation Scotty! We luv our '14 Sequoia we picked up used 2 years ago with 75K miles! Put the scanner on it and it was clean. The frame/underbody looked new - my mechanic couldn't believe how new it looked!
Yes exactly. Please look at the bolstering on the seats, like my 2010 Forerunner, nice, thick bolstering, then look at the new Lexus GX and similar, you’ll never last a long trip with elderly parents. New seats are very thin and back issues will be unbearable for some.
I just picked up a super-clean 2014 last week. Tons of miles but drives and rides smooth and quiet. If you want an older family hauler that can fit six+ that can pull a trailer and give you a great shot at 300K+ miles it is hard to do better than a Sequoia.
Just picked up a 2019 Platinum and love it. Retiring next spring and touring the USA. It is a couch and what we wanted for lots of miles on the road. In a pinch we can sleep in it!
My neighbor has a Sequoia - loves it but has had to do a lot of maintenance things like buy new headlight assemblies because the old ones were essentially opaque.
If that happens you get some 600 grit sandpaper and then use 1000 grit and then finish with 2000 grit and then polish it with some metal polish like mothers or flitz and they will look almost new. You gotta spend about 20 minutes on each one though.
I bought one last year with 160k miles. I've spent about $5k on it putting in new struts, canister, shocks, etc. I don't mind. Just maintenance. Love it.

Well Scotty, I live in northern Sweden were the winters are tough. You're recommendations to just put winter tyres on the back of the car doesn't help. You need winter tyres all around to make a difference.
In the province of Quebec the government mandated that all vehicles have four (not just two) winter tires installed during the 'winter' months. This caused another problem; a lot of owners continue driving on winter tires year round.
Winter tire helps but nothing beats a 4x4 & a capable driver. Real wheel drive vehicle just suck in the snow (unless drifting), especially going up the hill.

Most Japanese cars are great , I have a 2002 Subaru Forester S that's running like a champ after 160k miles and the head gaskets aren't leaking yet knock on wood got lucky or somebody already put the turbo gaskets in it already maybe but I doubt it.
