I cant even imagine the amount of work that gets put into these. So many little details and unique assets created. The rate of these being uploaded is crazy. I would have expected short 3-5 minute animations, not nearly ten minutes of amazing animation.
A bit that was missing was also that their were children put into these games too. When Rome decided to persecute Christians, they would be thrown into the Coliseum. Kids would also attend these events as spectators.
Love your animations Mitsi and I love your animation style. I have a video idea for you that you may be able to use for your future videos, and that is the evolution of planes and warplanes!

Death fights were actually quite a rare sight gladiator combat , In fact eventually it got banned by an emperor, and combats also had rules too you know...
Did you know you mostly didn’t die as a gladiator? They would go until one of them is pinned, then the host of the tournament would decide your fate. The only one with the highest death rate and the only recorded tie, was at the opening of the coliseum. It would almost always end in a winner loser, but almost always, both would walk away
I still remember my first gladiator game from the ps2, Colosseum road to freedom. At first I just powerhouse my way through matches lasting in 30 secs to 2mins. Until I realize dodging and prolonging matches actually earn you more tablets and money.
Show a video explaining your technique, I love your unique animation style, and I would be interested in the thoughts and processes behind making these incredible historical videos

Fun fact: if the emperor gives a thumbs up that means to finish off the defeated Gladiator and a fist means to let the Gladiator to live to fight another battle.
Gladiators were an expensive investment for those who ran the gladiator schools, so it was preferable that the fighters did not die on the field - meaning they had to be strong enough to last more than one fight. Contrary to popular belief, not many gladiators actually fought to the death.
Actually nobody knows if 'thumbs up' is correct. The only sources known say 'turned thumb' (pollice verso) as a sign for death, though nobody knows what way the thumb was turned. Could be up (to the heavens), could be sideways (cut throat sign) or could be down (buried in the ground). So anyone who claims they are right has 33% chance to actually be right. But we will never know, unless more sources are found. We do know for sure the sign to live was the thumb in fist.

Commodus used to have men rove around capturing highly disfigured people, and he would have them dressed and painted up to look like mythical ogres or trolls, which he would then kill in the arena.
Interesting fact: This type of combat essentially started and ended with an emperor. Julius Caesar brought it to prominence and Honorius ended it in 404AD. This was because a monk named Telemachus ran into the Coliseum during a match and publicly decried the match as very inhumane, and "HEY MAYBE IT ISN'T A GOOD IDEA TO WATCH PEOPLE KILL EACH OTHER FOR LAUGHS?". Probably didn't help his chances of survival that he was still in the middle of a gladiator match with no armor, and he was killed. Honorius heard his cries though, and found them inspiring. So in 399 (and again in 404), he legally ended gladiator combat.

Moral relativism also teaches that we are all basically good, and if we happen to go bad, then it’s because we’re simply products of our environment. It teaches that we make our own truth.
For instance, if you believe in a God of love, forgiveness, and mercy, you can keep that. But if you’re offended by the biblical teaching of a God of holiness, righteousness, and judgment, you can delete that. It works out perfectly. Or so it seems.
Moral relativism may sound fine in theory. But what if we were to put it into practice? Will a god of our own making be able to save us in the final day? Of course not.
A biblical worldview says there is a God as revealed in the Bible, and the Bible alone is the authority and source of that belief. It is not what we feel or what is popular, acceptable, or perceived as cool. It is what the Bible says.

The Way We Look at Things
You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times.
-2 Timothy 3:1
Someone said, “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the Sun has risen, not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.
A Christian worldview will affect the way that we see everything. And why is this important? Because we are living in the last days. Jesus Christ is coming back again. And if ever there was a time when we need to know our Bibles and have a close walk with Christ, the time is now.
Describing the end times, the apostle Paul said, “In the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control”
(2 Timothy 3:1-3)
Paul went on to say, “They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly”
(verses 3-5)
Is that not an accurate assessment of the times in which we are living? The United States has never been more spiritual yet more immoral. We throw the word spiritual around a lot. But do we know what it means?
We live in an age when we can write our own apps and customize our home screens. We can keep the stuff we like and throw out the things we don’t. And we carry that thinking into other aspects of our lives. The result is something called moral relativism.

I cant even imagine the amount of work that gets put into these. So many little details and unique assets created. The rate of these being uploaded is crazy. I would have expected short 3-5 minute animations, not nearly ten minutes of amazing animation.

3:41 i like how the kids can handle men fighting for their lives but not animals
Well would you rather see your classmates fighting in the hallway, or a stray cat getting mauled by a pitbull?
A bit that was missing was also that their were children put into these games too. When Rome decided to persecute Christians, they would be thrown into the Coliseum. Kids would also attend these events as spectators.
Brilliant stuff as usual- gruesome, but brilliant! Can’t wait for the next episode. Keep them coming guys, and greetings from Australia 🇦🇺!
Love your animations Mitsi and I love your animation style. I have a video idea for you that you may be able to use for your future videos, and that is the evolution of planes and warplanes!

Crazy how 2000 years later Flamma is still spoken of. Dude must have been that good.
I heard that the premium gladiator was treated like an athlete or star wrestler because of how costly they are.
Thank you for the video Mitsi!
I still remember my first gladiator game from the ps2, Colosseum road to freedom.
At first I just powerhouse my way through matches lasting in 30 secs to 2mins.
Until I realize dodging and prolonging matches actually earn you more tablets and money.
It is always good to see history with a healthy dose of unnecessary gore and graphical violence.

Contrary to popular belief, not many gladiators actually fought to the death.
mitsi studio just keeps getting better and better every video. nice work!

I gotta admit this is better than Crash Course! Thanks Mitsi Studios! 🤙
Mitsi studios never fails to bring great 3D animation to us.
You know its a good day when Mitsi makes a new animation
Great to see the accurate 'thumb up' to signal death by the emperor. Instead of the incorrect 'thumb down' the for death used in most movies :)
We do know for sure the sign to live was the thumb in fist.

i wanna see it NOW
The day i see a Misti Studio napoleon my life will be complete
Interesting fact:
This type of combat essentially started and ended with an emperor.
Julius Caesar was never emperor. Also gladiatorial combat already existed centuries before he was born.
