Josh Homme (Queens of The Stone Age) - the complete interview:
In 2011 Josh Homme contributed to my feature documentary LO SOUND DESERT, a film about the Californian desert rock scene, with this in-depth interview.
"LO SOUND DESERT" is a documentary about the Californian desert music scene.
What was started by revolting punk rock kids, hidden from narrow-minded authorities of the sub-urban desert communities in the early 80s, gave birth to bands like Kyuss and Queens Of The Stone Age. From jamming all night in the middle of a surreal desert landscape to headlining European stages - “Desert Rock” continued its underground spread and became international treasure.
The film was released in 2016.
With the same punk rock attitude and artistic DIY approach it captures the vibe of the 90s 'Coachella Valley's' music scene and leaves the narration to the main protagonists themselves: Josh Homme, Mario Lalli, Brant Bjork, Alfredo Hernandez, Scott Reeder and many more from bands like Kyuss, Queens Of The Stone Age, Yawning Man, Fatso Jetson (etc.).

Man, Josh is such a good and humble soul. Great job on the interview, creating an environment where someone can really let you in and explore his thoughts freely is not something anyone can do. There was a good sense of open-mindedness and understanding to this
Love this guy
I still believe that Lo Sound Desert is my favourite ever music documentary... 🙂
haha thanks Tim!
Good times back then 🤘
35:45 Queens are certainly getting to do this on the upcoming Uk tour. A Georgian cloth hall, theme park and a castle. Can’t wait for those shows
Psychedelic guitar hero! :) thank you
What great interview. When Josh is given an opportunity to answer meaningful questions he always has a interesting story which is both entertaining and insightful. He's like a collector of experiences and emotions which he uses so skilfully to create art that is always interesting, that never gets old or repetitive and is difficult to pigeohole. His well of creativity seems endless. Definitely one in a billion in the current sea of mediocrity and short attention span pleasing muzak..
Amazing interview
Love you mang! Baby don't, ever know me..? Always changing constantly. Feel your absurdity coming thru in the new one... Cant wait to hear the rest! Extra chaaz plaaz.
I agree, trucks really shouldnt be fighting.
Let the good times roll
Anyone know what the music is in the background?
Alain Johannes
@@steineck Thank you thank you. Can you tell me the tracks or album? It’s the music early in the interview that catches Josh’s ear
