Alright Mitch, another awesome video, some shocking low ballers like the Volvos, and of course some of them high ballers like the top end fords, but my car of show was the 1300E escort in an ultra rare colour, most of them were in a gorgeous purple! ( when I was a kid I used to do a newspaper round and there was this purple 1300E and one of them Granada Ghia coupes parked at one the houses and I swooned over them! Never had one but have had many other assorted vehicles over the years, but yeah we all love our vehicles that’s why we’re here watching our Mitch doing his thing, awesome vid and will happily continue to follow your exploits…. Bless..
1998 I bought a T reg fiesta 950 popular, paid £1500. Everyone of your videos has a car or 3 I owned in my teens and early 20s. My dad at the time owned a W reg 2.3 ghia v6 cortina mk5 in Olympic gold I think it was called, might be harvest gold. I cannot believe the prices these cars sell for.
In todays money taking inflation into account, £1500 is around £3300, so in real terms, the Fiestas value has dropped by over half. Not to say that £1500 today isn't a lot for a '79 Fiesta, just that it's not quite as clear-cut as it appears, especially when you add in rarity and the collector market
Excellent video, good mix of cars and well edited so it doesn't drag on with 5 mins bidding on each car. The final sales £ added is good too. Keep up the good work
Thank you for this video... My first ever car at 01:28 in this video was a MK 1 Ford Fiesta when I passed my driving test in 1990 ..I paid £400 for mine with 1 Year MOT test on the car. It was a pig to start on a cold/Damp morning ... So I only kept it for 3 Months and replaced it with a MK 2 Ford Fiesta ..This was a little gem of a car.
nissan S cargo is an "in joke", "escargot" is french for snail... serviced a few of them those old cherry clutches took 15 minutes maximum, longest job was getting the 3 self-tappers out of the OSF inner wing... keep it up young man
Really good Mitch, you take us through the lots (some quite quirky) with such style and panache, always a pleasure to listen to your banter. Can't wait for the next one!
A great watch as always Mitch. Can’t believe how cheap that Golf VR6 went for in that condition. Have to agree with you about the Fiesta S though, my favourite as well.
Thanks for sharing mate, enjoyed the video, some cheap cars, that Black Mini 30 will make money but for the price you could store it for a few years and make good money, thanks again
Hi Mitch I was hoping to get to the Auction as I was tempted by the MK1 fiesta. Got to say on watching it on line I thought it was under sold. But then just watching your view I think it was probably bang on. Would I have bid on it if I'd been there, seeing the rust on that rear panel, probably not. Just proves, if your buying in Auction be there. Hope to see you next kings Lynn auction.
Didn't work out as expected for me. Paid £500 deposit to bid online. Rang to confirm I could bid live against those in the room. Put a couple of bids on before the car was on the block. Car came up, Lot 209. Tried to bid £4k, bid would not go through. Car sold for £3,600. Gutted. Never again.
Favourite car is that mk1 1.1s fiesta.Love mk1 fiestas, grew up around my dad's yellow mk1 . The rs 2000 was a beauty too. Those Datsuns are rare cars. Most of them rusted to nothing in a very short space of time.Even growing up in the 80's,most where falling apart with rust.Had a soft spot for the first mk1 fiesta on show, hope someone restores that properly.Very close to what my dad had, except a different colour.Great video as always Mitch.
That was really good to watch, thanks for sharing. I was surprised there were no Jaguars, no Cortina's, no Hillmans and no Capri's , no Granada's... Strange!
Thank you! Auctions are unpredictable, you never know what will turn up 👍🏻 If you’d like to see some of those cars mentioned, there are plenty in some of my other auction videos 😎
Fantastic mate am a new subscriber I love your enthusiasm for classic cars keep up the good work 👏 I love classic car myself and my favourite one from the auction was the escort XR3I because I had one back in the 90s 😅😅😅
Lovely to see a Cossie. I bought my first one new from Peoples Liverpool via an ad in the Sunday Times. Ford had just dropped the price to £21K as they couldn't shift them at full price! G848 DKB, Sapphire Blue and I had a BBR Phase 2 conversion fitted #goodolddays
Its funny how they actually have a banner or Jeremy, Hammond and May on the backwall and just because they did a challenge at that auction sight. I thought the layout looked familiar. 😄
Great to see the video Mitch and also to see you on the Saturday of the sale I didn't buy the escort estate btw has tempting as it was Keep up the good work !!
@@Mk2Mitch They were! I saw an unrestored Mk1 Escort RS1600 at an RS show at Stanford Hall in 2009. Original faded paint & mega patina. Under the bonnet was factory fresh too... seam sealer spilled everywhere!! It was the worst factory seam sealing job I'd ever seen, but with a valuation of 50k at that time, you wouldn't want to restore it!
Great video and auction! The cloth on the golf seats is check not Tartan as was the Fiesta. The pair of Hondas were a bargain I believe and I would have bought the Sierra 🏴👍🏻
Love your videos makes me miss being in the car trade Thought id just mention jordan f1 team never won a drivers or constructors championship But cant wait for your next vid
that P100 is imported from Denmark I can say this because og the load capacity sticker on the cab side the danish king Frederik had a Volvo 480 as his first car back in 1986 one of the if not the first non press registred and one of the few sold in Denmark I don't know if the royal family still has it
Someone butchering a Cooper Sport, surprised it made that money tbh. The Mini 30 was worth way more than what it went for. Good to see the Hot Hatch Fords still doing well
I think that low mileage blue MK4 Escort would have the colour coded mirrors & door handles as standard, as it's a Bonus model, that came with a more sporty look.
1600 quid for that Astra van wow. My late dad had one for 14 years on a g plate. Bought it brand new in 89. Lot of memories in that van for me. It was the Astra ld 1.7. If I can get one for that money I want one now
Some fantastic cars there mate. I fully agree with your opinion on that first mini, I hated the dash and the steering wheel, but the twin centre exhaust pipe was good to see, with the interior sorted I'd love it. Also I'd have both the RS2000 and the cosworth (can't decide so why not) and also like you I liked the 1100S Fiesta and XR3. I've gotta go there if I win the lottery!!! Ferrari's and Lamborgini's? Pah you can keep 'em!!
