Night before 1st Infantry attacks Marigny's heart, Daniels has a haunting
dream from his childhood again, which keeps him awake. Zussman is awake as well, wanting to prove himself to Pierson who considers him unfit for battle. Daniels tells Zussman the background of his constant dream - when he was young, he let his brother Paul down by failing to kill a wolf who had attacked him, leaving Paul with severe wounds.
The next day, during the ongoing battle for Marigny, Pierson, Daniels, Zussman, Stiles and Aiello are part of the attack to the German stronghold, the local church, from the back, while Turner and the other part of the platoon plan to retake the town square. The platoon eliminates German defenses guarding the church, including a deadly halftrack armed with a machine gun turret, and repel a heavy counterattack. However, upon breaking into the church, they find it deserted, with only ammo supplies left behind. This turns out to be an ambush plan, after which German forces attack again, led by a flamethrower trooper. After the platoon clears the inside of the church, Daniels opens the front gate to see that there are anti-aircraft guns beyond the square, downing US air support.
Pierson orders Aiello and Zussman to eliminate the guns, while him, Daniels and Stiles climb the church bell tower to provide sniper support. They manage to disable two guns before Turner comes to assist them with more infantry. When the Germans realize there are US snipers in the church killing their troops, they turn the last gun to the bell tower and open fire, hitting it with massive explosions. While Stiles, Pierson and Daniels run to the ladder to escape, other two men are killed: one is split in half by an anti-aircraft shell while trying to assist Daniels, and the other, Jones, despite Daniels' best efforts to save him, falls to death. The shelling of the bell tower detaches two bells from the top of it, which pierce through floors, and Daniels barely manages to escape from them falling on him. When everyone is finally out of the church, the bell tower is entirely destroyed and it falls just feet next to the squad. Pierson unleashes his anger to Daniels, blaming him for arguably avoidable deaths of two of his men.
They then set up a defensive position in the ruins of the bell tower, and keep off German reinforcements coming from the town square. In the meantime the rest of the platoon takes out the final AA gun, which makes the skies clear for the air force to engage. Daniels throws a red smoke to the square to signal the air support. The bombs are dropped, and although Daniels is knocked out by the bombing, he survives and reunites with Zussman and Turner, while all the Wehrmacht reinforcements are killed and Marigny is safe.

This single player campaign needed to be longer. Like how World at War had the American story arc and the Russian Story Arc or how the old WW2 COD would jump between like 3-4 nationalities/storylines.
Yeah the campaign was really short I beat it many times
And they could've added co op to campaign
They should have included Market Garden from the British perspective, especially Arnhem.

This campaign had some pretty good characters, the whole squad had great chemistry. If the campaign had been longer and more realistic and gritty like WaW (no Michael Bay train crash scene), it would have been something special. As it stands, it’s ok, but not nearly as good as it had the potential to be.
Man this game should be in the Hall of Fame.

They should make a difficulty in this game where if you get hit once by pretty much anything, you die. To make this game a little more realistic, that would be pretty cool
Basically yeah.. But they would have to change a lot more to make it playable.. The first Mission, D-Day would be impossible to beat otherwise

Not that im saying that WW2 was not crazy as hell, excuse me - it was hell. But those fighting scene's in call of duty are too surreal. They couldv'e ease down on the too much airplanes and details and would still be a great game.

Can't speak for anything else, but the MG-42 sound in this game was horrible. The fire rate was much slower than the real gun. It sounded more like a slow-mo version of MG-42

In real life after one - two kills made by sniper all other soldiers would be alerted and hiding and not just standing in the open. Next thing, that sniper would be targeted ASAP. And here he is just standing there for so long in one place not disturbed. No realism at all. No progress in Call of Duty regarding AI for so many years now...

@The Beast Because it really doesn't take to long to realize that one of your mates was shot by a sniper. Especially during the WWII they didn't have too precise rifles so distance were sniper could be positioned was never to far. Modern days sniper weapons are far more advanced, stealth and harder to spot, longer distances, but not back then.

This BS with charging weapons at will after firing 1 shot and later just having full mags has to stop-
WHHO THE HELL WOULD RELOAD AFTER ONE PISTOL SHOT???
Sometimes in games you need the full clip/mag. One shot could make the difference between you progressing or having to start all over again, so, it's better to have your weapon fully loaded right after you made a shot or two, just in case.

Should be like in old Battlefield games... you drop the half empty mag, you lose it. Lets see how many of you smartasses will then reload after one shot.
