I'm thinking I may need to do this job myself on my audi s3. Was hoping you might give your opinion on this: I've got a creaking when turning the steering wheel that's definitely coming from the suspension/wheel area. I've already replaced the strut mounts for another larger clunking/crunching sound when turning the wheel which has fixed one problem, but now I hear another much fainter creak from inside the car (and only if I'm going slow, below 20mph (or roughly 32kmh). How can I test to ensure that it's the tie rod ends that need to be replaced?

nice job.
Would be great to include torque specs.
No need to cut the old gaitor. Once released from the wide end it can be pulled off the tie rod easily and re-used.

Same here bro. I thought it was my wheel bearings. Come to find out it was the tie rods
