Nice to work in a tropical climate where you don't have to deal with winter weather.
I just applied for gate agent at both delta an American so I can’t wait wish me luck
I'm also Gate staff , I just want ask during boarding how many staff that stanby at the gate for scan boarding pass & sweeping baggage .
And how long standar boarding boarding time from STD using B738NG for Alaska Airline ?
Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work! Now I know what to expect. Btw, what's that song you're playing in the background?
i was accepted to do a digital interview & getting an insight into being a ticket / gate agent has me so excited! do you have any tips for people (like myself 😂) just starting this job? thank you for making thiss
Hi Isaiah how is training in Seattle like for the CSA position there? Was it easy to learn everything by your first day at the airport? Love your video very helpful!!
Siaki Life - Hi! We had an in station trainer so I didn’t get a chance to go to Seattle. Training wasn’t too bad however there was a lot of information to soak up in a short amount of time. I feel like you really won’t learn everything, mostly just the basics, by the time you start your first day of OJT. There’s a lot that you won’t learn in class but will learn once you encounter that situation while working. The way I learn is hands on and by doing so I picked it up a lot faster during OJT. Thanks for watching!!!
Delta sent me an online interview, so my questions for you is what should my attire be like? And what are some of the questions that you had to answer for your airline? Thanks
HIro kushimaru - how awesome, congratulations on getting an interview! Your interview attire should be professional as if it were a face to face interview. Definitely wear a suit. For the interview questions I would take a look at Glassdoor, they are a great resource for delta air lines interviews. Most of the questions that I was asked during my interview were customer service situational questions were I would use past experiences as examples. You should also research and use the STAR method when answering questions. Hope this helps!
Thanks for watching! It’s just a random song I found in a video editor 😂
Nice choice! And you're welcome. This video was helpful, I start the same position on Monday!
Eastcoast Devereaux congratulations and good luck!!
Thanks!🙏
are all gate agent positions part time or are there full time positions as well?
MrHiggs89 yes, usually when applying it’ll say what type of position they are hiring for, full time, part time and also on call
How to apply without experiences and it has lot overtime
Jorel Paloma it is possible to apply with no airline experience.
However most airlines would prefer and look for some kind of experience in the customer service/hospitality industry to be considered for a gate agent/customer service agent type of position. There are other positions available should you not have customer service experience. Aircraft cleaners, ramp operations, etc so definitely keep an eye out or be open to other positions if you aren’t able to get in as a CSA, once you get your foot in the door it is easier to transfer to a more preferred position.
There are opportunities to get overtime by taking other coworkers shifts working extra shifts should they be short staffed or if flights are delayed.
Do you think it’s worth the low pay to be a gate Agent?
Thankfully I have a well paying full time job and work as a gate agent part time. To be honest I love being a gate agent! The low pay is definitely difficult for some of my coworkers however the flight benefits and travel perks are amazing! I would say if you plan on traveling often or to international destinations then it could be worth it in the short run. But you would definitely want something else to supplement your income .
