Kudos to all the parents for being supportive of making this happen
Agreed :)
I love that Brisket tried to tell Maya before, all excitedly.
Ha ha ha.. I didn't even see that! Aw.. that so sweet! 🐩❤️
-How did you get here?
-We flew....
😂😂😂
awwwww cute:-) and Brisket REALLY wanna show Maya her friends :-)
Awww thats so cute. Who is cutting onions in here?? :D
Maybe ask Shrek? He's all about onions and some stuff about onions having layers 😉
What a lovely surprise. You girls are gonna have so much fun together! There's nothing better than sharing experiences with your best friends. Have a nice stay in Denmark, girls!
Awww even I shed a tear right there, few things are as precious as true friendship..
I hope that they had a wonderful time together while being here🙏
They did!
That reaction was the BEST! It literally brought tears to my eyes... perhaps because I have long long ago have lost contact with my own friends from Long Island....and Sydney, Australia.
"Come here."
"What is happening..?"
"Just come here."
"What is going on..?"
"Just come here."
"I'm scared..."
- something tells me, that Maya is used to getting pranked all the time by her dad. :)
About the differences in behaviour out in the public - there was a COVID-related joke some time ago:
"Finally, the 2m distancing has been lifted. Now Scandinavians can go back to their usual 5m." 😉
BTW, you can buy umbrellas in Denmark too. 😜
If that was true at all, I would love it. Maybe 2m is difficult to measure.
Good one! 😂👍
Wow! The speed talking! 😳😂
Why is it so dusty here today? What an amazing surprise. This is something Maya will remember the rest of her life.
❤️
5:56 - "Amanda" on the wall behind Amanda, and "Sidney" on the shelf behind Sidney.
Real good friend's for life is worth more than all gold in the world 🙂💙
Mega cool. 😍🇩🇰🇩🇰
That brought happy tears to my eyes 😭🤗. What a surprise. Welcome to Denmark 🇩🇰
6:03: The sweetest!❤🥰👍
I loved this!
When I moved from Denmark to D.C my dad did the same thing to me. And then when I had to go home for the summer I went back earlier than planed. So I totally know this surreal feeling Maya went through plus the fact that the girl friends couldn't say anything to Maya about it 😅
Have fun and enjoy eachoter 🇩🇰🇺🇸
Snakker du stadig dansk Trine haha?🤣🇩🇰😝
i think i also cried a little when you where surprised :-)
I'm not crying! You're crying!
Wauw have a WONDERFUL time in Denmark 💕🇩🇰
Kudos to Brisket for not giving things away!!
My dogs would have been barking all the time...

Hope they come back to Denmark, for a longer stay :D
The Best surprice ever 🤗🌹🤗
Maya, have you and your friends ever thought about making a podcast? Where you could talk how it is being young, education, youthful anxiety and how the lag of experience can be a blessing if mixed with knowledge and confidence.
Wonderful video. I tried for fun to count how many times they said "like", but I had to stop. 😂
so sweet and wholesome hope thy get some good whether now that we are in August
Aw man it's only Tuesday morning, why you gotta do us like this?! 😭😭
Just kidding, enjoy Maya! ❤️ Hoping I get my own friends & family reunion soon. It's now been over a year 😢

This video made me smile with tears in my eyes. I'm so happy for you guys! 🇩🇰🇺🇸❤
What a fantastic surprise for Maya.
Kudos to Amanda and Sydney (Sidney?) for taking the initiative and deciding "We're gonna make this happen!"! There's friends and then there's Friends. I believe we all know which category these girls fit into. 👏👏
May you enjoy your time together and make many happy memories that will last a lifetime. Hopefully with better weather, because that has been sh*t for the last week.
To Amanda and Sydney, welcome to Denmark and may you have a fun and enjoyable vacation filled with great experiences. 😎
I love that Maya was so frank in her emotions, It's weird but I like those emotions in videos... they are so honest. I loved the reaction, I might even just bookmark this video. Because alot of reaction videos, they are somehow not frank... they seem fake. this was not the case.
so funny to see Maya very surprised. Love you and you personality maya ;)
I love how many ‘like’s you’re saying. That’s hilarious. I say ‘like’ a lot too, so my english/American must be very authentic. 😊🤩
Maya may you and friends have a good time tother, hope they have a good trip over here, weather are good atm not to hot not to cool
That episode was surprisingly emotional and 'hyggelig'. Good content and good guests!
So happy for you Maya 😁👌 I must have been jawdropping seing your friends suddently standing there 😂
I really hope that they will enjoy the stay. And we really do smile too little here. Deep down we really like to smile and have a short conversation with strangers too. Keep smiling girls. 😁👌
Koldskål is best described as advanced buttermilk - i guess.
That was a fantastic surprise.
Next time you spring a surprise like that on your daughter you can use it to hear their view and openions of things you show them, or things you experianced that is very danish. Like what they think about the schools, the cities you visit and things like that.
Could make for more fun videos when you have friends over from the states.
I have a friend visiting next week and will do that with them. We are also going to travel to a few cities in DK. I kinda wanted the girls to just have fun with this one and not put pressure on their trip.
Questions to Maya's friends
1. Was there at any time you were worried amongst: traffic / people?
2. How many times were you annoyed by the Danish way of doing things and what? (be honest😁)
3. Did you ever have to ask people for help and if you did - did you have any problems: people refuse to help/demand payment to help or language barriers?
4. Was there anything that came as a pleasant surprise?
5. What would be your answer to American parents that considered allowing their kids going on "their own" to Denmark.
American's - like
Danes - mega
Cool saving up and making it come true all by your self. Welcome!
Great surprise! I really enjoy this channel.
Oh, you girls are just the best. Thank you for sharing this and enjoy your stay!
How amazing for her ❤️🇩🇰… just in tears and smiling ❤️
Seriously. Start a Tuesday laugh and cry. Truly a wonderful surprise. You're so cute together. I'm sure you'll have some great weeks together.
Maya, if you want to go around and your parents are at work or something, just say so. Will be happy to drive you if you need it. Is not that far away. So much to see and so little time
I am tears in my eyes of joy
So sweet.
So happy for Maya to get a suprise visit from her american friends :) Best reaction - Hope they have a "MEGA" good stay:D
This made me cry With you Maya. So awesome to see this. ❤️

Oh, I hope you have the best time together. Make sure to show them all the best places here in Denmark.
I couldn’t keep my tears back. So wonderful to see ❤️
Try to count how many times they use the word 'like'... My mind blew up :-)
I'm so happy for you girls, have fun! 🙂
I appreciate the clean metro and the other stuff more now when you guys say it out loud 😃
Such a beautiful video! Thank you for sharing, I loved it so much!
Good thing Maya explained "Ellen". I thought she said LN, and was like "drugs???"
You guys are so sweet!
That is how I feel when I come back to Denmark. I can’t wait till I can travel again without a mask. It is about time I get back. Enjoy your 2 weeks.❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇩🇰🇩🇰
Do you have friends here? 🤗
@@vanefreja86 yes , I am not sure if I have family, but wonderful friends. A lot of them has passed ,I am sad to say.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇩🇰🇩🇰❤️❤️
@@helensahagian1501 sorry to hear that - I myself have a friend in North Carolina - we met in the UK 😅
Love Mayas reaction! :=)
That gave me a bunch of tears in my eyes. Fantastic.
Young american woman sure say "like" a lot as a filler word...
But still a heartwarming video :)
And I LOVE that part where they talk about the differences. Cloth, people etc. More of those!
For the koldskål. Try adding a spoonful of good vanilla ice cream and some fresh fruit such as strawberries or pineapple. It brings the meal to a whole new level.
This was like really fun to like watch 😂
What a pleasant surprise for you, Maya.. Great video and I wish you, Maya and of course your friends from The U.S all the best in your future endeavors
So happy for you guys! You have some really wonderful friends, Maya. Enjoy your time together, girls!
Hey. Congrats. 20.000 subs. Yahoooo!!!
What a great reunion.
oh thats so nice. im so happy for u
and welcome to denmark
That's awesome!
Great to see you meeting your friends after such a long time. I say, you have real friends, Maya.
I have been living in another country myself, and I know the joy of seeing old friends.
I recommend two places to see: The Viking Museum in Roskilde, and I think you all will like going to the Tivoli Garden.
How sweet! I hope you have a fantastic time in Denmark.
What a lovely surprise. Good for all you girls.
About the koldskål - it's buttermilk base. You should try adding a bit of fruit, cubes/slices of ripe banana with a few cubes of apple, or slices of strawberry. And you also have to crumble the kammerjunkere (cookies) on top just before eating, so the kammerjunkere stays crunchy :)
Aww what a lovely surprise and great you figured out how to get them here and surprise her. Plus they also get to experience Denmark.
Alright didn't expect the clothing material to be a better quality.
smiling and saying hallo is normal out of the cities. Thanks for sharing a tender moment
Great surprise :-)
As an American, we don't have any koldskål or kammerjunker here. It's actually even kinda hard to find buttermilk in the grocery stores I go to. But because I so badly wanted to try it, I decided to make my own one summer. Maya's friends are gracious guests to not say they hate it despite their facial expressions giving it away a bit, because I know when I first tried it I was not a fan at all hahaha. That said, I knew it was a taste that could be acquired and once I was on my third bowl I knew I was hooked. It is sooo delicious and refreshing, I love it!
What an awesome surprise. It almost made me tear up because ... AWW So cute.
Great fun!
This episode just makes me happy… and i Got a littlebit teary eyes🤷♂️😁
they would love to go to tivoli
Always crush the chamber junker or "kammerjunker". Or they will destroy your palate :p
Nope. 😛
Maya so glad you got a chance to see your friends again and that they get a chance to enjoy another country so I am very happy for you
wow!How beautiful....friends are such gems...treasure them...Wishing you the best of times there i Denmark..Have fun reminiscing!
That ONE dislike is from some American also living in Denmark, but whose friends did not come to visit them.
Any other reason for disliking is unacceptable.
And exactly 20000 subs.Congratulations :)
I needed a wholesome video like this… some weird stuff out there man…
This is MEGA cool. 😎
aaand i'm in tears :D Welcome to DK girls. Hope you having a blast here..even tho it rains :)
That is so cute... Y'all seem so nice! (That's me trying to write in American - I lived in Texas, so it probably doesn't translate into Illinois...)
As for koldskål... Try it with fresh strawberries cut in half or quarters and marinated in sugar for 10-20 minutes instead of kammerjunkere. It works really well with the slightly sweet/sour flavour of the koldskål. (But do it with one of the less sour versions; not that cheapest, bright-yellow carton that doesn't need to be refrigerated! That stuff just tastes like artificial lemon juice...)
make it yourself none of the premade really are worth eating!
and it relatively easy to make.
@@mwtrolle I actually think some of the premade ones are okay, especially for a foreigner who doesn't have specific ideas about how it needs to taste to be "just right". There are so many different ways of making it, so unless you have a family tradition I think it can probably be confusing for some.
But yes, it's VERY easy and quick to make yourself. And I think I will have to make some for myself tonight, served with sugar-toasted oats rather than kammerjunkere because that was the way we had it in my childhood. :-)
Ska' du ha' en koldskål...
Med jammerklunker!🤣👍
Mega nice surprise :)
What a great surprise!!!! ❤❤❤
Oh man, I love koldskål! It reminds me of the frozen lemonades from Chick fil A. Such a sweet episode, I’m so happy for Maya
