If you are all hoping to use them in a game, they are definitely going to require optimization. At base, they are given to you as cinematic quality. A single blank level with a base metahuman will drop the fps in your viewport by around 20 to 40 fps. Add one into a blank project and mess with their settings. They have a ton of different details you can change, remove or disable. Good luck and have fun.

Is there a way to map meta human faces to an existing 3d model from other formats or even an image?
Yep it is possible, you will need to use another 3d package like blender or Maya to do this
