That balloon popping show is going to dry up the dating market for BW if they let it continue.
Why you say that? (I dont watch it)
@@rastahill748 they nuclear reject men on that show for little to no reason. They have fun just shitting on the men that want to date them. If any man watches regardless of race, they won't have a good feeling about BW
@@rastahill748it's as superficial as superficial gets. Balloons getting popped off the rip because they don't like what the guy is wearing.
@@rastahill748Oh no pookie has found his way over here.
I'm all for anything that alllows bw to expose themselves.
Nah, let them keep acting a fool.
If we’re not a monolith as the woman said-why do women who address the ratchet image get attacked/called “haters”, broke & old? 😩🤦🏾♀️
They cosign it that's why they don't say shyt
Backpackers existed, like, a decade before Kanye
Edit: I never realized BW are falling into the same path of image sabatoge of us BM during the gangsta rap era, that's a good point 🤔
I think more so that Ye made backpacker fashion mainstream but yeah
@NobodyHasToAgreeAllTheTime how? De La Soul wore backpacks way before Kanye.
@@kubbykush9401Kanye is considered a fashion icon
De la soul is not lol. De la soul did not have dudes wearing blazers and polos and white air ones everywhere
Backpackers were by definition underground/alternative. Kanye took that aesthetic and brought it mainstream is what I mean
@@NobodyHasToAgreeAllTheTime kanye wasn't no fashion icon in the mid 2000s, get outta here wit dat 😂
The only ones who worshipped kanye fashion are all of these goofy kids and 20 year olds 2015 and beyond who actually think his basic, goodwill-looking clothes look good
@@TheBLACKSTARmovement fam I’m not about to argue tastes and opinions, I’m just describing the timeline as it happened. Kanye was absolutely considered a trendsetter fashion wise. Rappers and people started dressing totally different when he came out. Dudes went from dickie suits and 4x shirts to polos and all that over night
Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul should we could be different as men in our image in rap.
Exactly! We had the daisy age and native tongue groups like DeLa Soul, Jungle Brothers, Kwame, Queen Latifah, Monie Love, and the pro-black rap like Public Enemy, KRS-ONE, X-Clan, Arrested Development, Rakim, etc. We even had MC Hammer, who was a real gangstas, but made hip-hop fun and a show with his entertainment. All of this was way before Kanye.
And don’t forget the Fugees
Black Sheep, A Tribe Called Quest, Kid N Play, LL Cool J, Big Daddy Kane, KRS One, Slick Rick, Kool G Rap, Run DMC, Public Enemy into Outkast, Mos Def, The Roots, Common, Bone Thugs, Talib Kweli, Pharrell and the N.E.R.D movement, Little Brother… PLENTY represented Blackness in more diverse ways before KanYe.
Yes, I came here to explain the same. It was the Native Tongues who brought the alternative bag pack style.
@@KoolE23Actually it was his brother Louis Burrell who was deep in the streets, but Hammer wasn’t no punk. I didn’t care for his music and did hate on him a bit as a NYC rap purist, for doing commercial rap. There was still positive rap around like Tribe, DeLaSoul, OutKast, Common, some Ice Cube, Cam, Black Sheep, X-Clan, PE, Main Source, Pete Rick & CL Smooth, Brand Nubians and many more. The game was balanced back then and the positive brothas weren’t projecting femininity.
Then again that mainstream success gateway drug, is how these execs completely gained control of the genre. I find a lot of rappers who aren’t talking hood BS, project a lot of femininity like Lil Uzi Vert or Tyler the Creator unfortunately. Ironically, the first one who really started that zesty stuff was Young Thug, who’s on trial as the head of a RICO case 🤷🏾♂️
This is why BW are claiming the dating apps are biased & not showing them a “variety” of men. There is no biased algorithm. BW have unfortunately run our public image into the ground & are not sought after/coveted for that reason.
Image is everything
The 90s mainstreaming of gangsta rap music was VERY damaging to our ethnic image. But that front NEVER applied to 85% of Bruhs - INCLUDING in the hood. We’ve always had that diversity within our community though 🤷🏾♂️ It’s the mainstream that ran with one image.
You also have to admit that image didn’t reach as many people as it would have a nowadays.
Today things can be worse, we have Suno now and people can make even worse music.
Deuteronomy 32:51. When they Twerked at the 'Door of no return', they sealed off the Ancestors favor forever. Babylon is falling, I'll be watching from safe distance.
And that was what? 2 years ago? MM is screaming for the lovely ladies to shut the stable door and the horse is half a mile down the road.
Native Tongues was out long before Kanye was out.
The image of black women in america, social media tropes, is influencing other cultures and communities.
And they're getting ignored also.
Kanye stood out a lot. he carried himself as if he was going to a job interview very professional. 🤔
Kanye diddy 2.0. Y’all have to snap out of it yesterday 😂 image in nothing. ♥️ is everything.
I prefer them destroy it. The more we isolate ourselves from them the better we can connect with other outside of the community. I like watching the bonfire from a distance lol
I'm a few years older than you. If Kanye came out a decade before he did, he would've been fine in Chicago and New York. You'd have Brand Nubian, specifically Grand Puba, UMCs, Black Sheep, Leaders of The New School, A Tribe Called Quest, etc. Grand Puba was/is on that 5% Nation/ black man is God ideaology.. The mistake the UMC's made was trying to be hard, but Kanye wouldn't go that route IMO.
Common was apart of that 90's back pack movement in the Chi before Kanye hit the scene.
✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Hell.i, I were Cowboy boots and a Cowboy hat. Lol 😂😂
Kanye fans was my first thought lol.
Interestingly and probably surprisingly to many, from what I recall, recent studies and polls show that conservative whites quite like black men and have a positive view of them.
Interesting short video but you won’t be able to fix it. It’s too late.
