Ubisoft is one of those companies that people love to talk a lot of bad about but they games continue sell so well. Personally, I love them. I do have issues with how they market the games and the prices they sell DLC for, but you don't even have to buy those to enjoy the game. Honestly, if people just stop paying for the DLC at the original prices, the game industry will be forced to lower prices or stop doing it completely. That's how supply & demand works.

Feels like all these studios making "open world" games today forget that what we as fans were loving back when it wasn't the norm was the RICH ENVIRONMENT that came along with it, where the space was USED, whether that was for a crazy view, unmarked quests, out of the way quests, etc. and why we therefore wanted it from franchises we liked. I'd much rather a more linear approached game so long as it's solid as apposed to a less than half-assed "open world" running from point A to B with nothing to really see in between.
Yeah, I much prefer linear level design a lot more as of lately. Most of the open world feels like im always doing some fetch quest/ puzzle, just to hold up on the joystick for 5-10mins. All to arrive at another joyless quest. I need 5 berries please
Fallout 3, 4 and New Vegas, and even Skyrim. Vs Starfield or any Ubislop since Farcry 4. In those games, you get copy pasted everything. But in Fallout, you might find a cabin. No real loot of value. But whoah. That one skeleton is chained to the bed and a bottle of nuka cola quantum is in his pelvis. I wouldn't drink that... Every location was unique.

The stealth takedowns make this game literally unplayable for me. Just smack your bare fist onto a helmet, the enemy goes down immediately and your hand isn't broken. How hard is it to apply a minimum of logic to an animation.
I remember back in republic commando you had a wristblade to melee enemies and you even got blood on your visor when you did it. Star Wars has lost all grit under disney.

So there's a design intent to that type of melee, to give the contact of physical things a little more oomph. The split second delay is intended to simulate the resistance you'd experience when striking something, rather than just wet noodling right through it But holy shite each punch is an aneurysm. I can't tell if it's a bug or just poorly designed, it looks so bad 😅

Open world used to mean a large game area where you are free to make your own choices about gameplay. This game appears to believe open world means “here’s an open space you can walk around in the world”.
As a tip, disable that aspect ratio for a full screen one. You would think you are getting more horizontal field of view but nop, what this mode does is just add the black bars at the bottom and top but is the exact frame as the normal ratio. And in some cases this aspect ratio tanks FPS for some weird reason
Out of all the interesting ship designs in the Star Wars Universe, they give you a fucking rectangle to fly in......... I am just going to wait for this game to go on sale or eventually makes it way to GamePass

Cassidy from Overwatch, Protag from Persona 3, Balthier from Final Fantasy, Freeman in Half Life 2, Revolver Ocelot from Metal Gear, Your character in Knights of the Old Republic, etcetera. A new game comes out and gets its initial sales which are always better around launch, then the game sales slow and Ubisoft lowers the price to counter slower sales and keep numbers up, then they parade this fact internally because it means more players are getting into the Ubisoft microtransaction ecosystem. At that point they are focusing on their next big title and don't care about the price of a previous news cycle game, just that it's maintaining *numbers.*

I have had enemies turn around while I’m standing behind them in this game. They mostly follow a set route or stare in the same direction.

The stealth takedowns make this game literally unplayable for me.
Just smack your bare fist onto a helmet, the enemy goes down immediately and your hand isn't broken.

As a tip, disable that aspect ratio for a full screen one. You would think you are getting more horizontal field of view but nop, what this mode does is just add the black bars at the bottom and top but is the exact frame as the normal ratio.
And in some cases this aspect ratio tanks FPS for some weird reason

There isn’t a deadeye-esque ability in Outlaws (From the gameplay I’ve seen so far). The only similarity is that she can flip her blaster a few times before holstering it. You know who else does gun tricks? Cassidy from Overwatch, Protag from Persona 3, Balthier from Final Fantasy, Freeman in Half Life 2, Revolver Ocelot from Metal Gear, Your character in Knights of the Old Republic, etcetera.
So unless you’re gonna make the insane claim that they all ripped off Red Dead Redemption despite plenty of them coming out before then, I fail to see your point.

A new game comes out and gets its initial sales which are always better around launch, then the game sales slow and Ubisoft lowers the price to counter slower sales and keep numbers up, then they parade this fact internally because it means more players are getting into the Ubisoft microtransaction ecosystem. At that point they are focusing on their next big title and don't care about the price of a previous news cycle game, just that it's maintaining *numbers.*
