God blessed that woman with a beautiful heart of gold that she freely gives to everyone she meets. May she be even more prosperous in the coming years of her life and she receive the honor she deserves.
It almost put a tear to my eye while also making me laugh at the same time for the fight as to them wanting to give back the money with xiaoma insisting they keep it. I lived in China for 10 years and it’s so wholesome.
Damm she told him that business is not going well and next thing she packing extra stuff and candy's omg that's how you know she does this with her heart. She deserves everything
For real! I cried when she said she couldn't accept the money. The amount of love and humility in her heart...if I lived in NYC, I'd be going to her restaurant every day just to support her. ♥
The first lady broke my heart, she stated that she cannot cover her expenses but still took the time to give extras to her customers, which in itself says a lot about her as a person. I encourage everyone who lives close by to support businesses like hers through the tough times so that they can continue to serve the community. Save the businesses who care about customers over profit and we will all win as a result of that. This pandemic brought out not only the worst but the best in people and it is clear this lady deserves a fighting chance. Kindness is also infectious, pay it forward. Life is good, share it with good people!
I agree! Here in the UK I've been avoiding the big food chains and focusing on smaller business, firstly out of personal preferences but also to help out. Let's just say I'm addicted to one cake shop 😊😭
I completely agree, many times these restaurant owners do things that the locals are not aware of. While staying in San Diego I was looking for restaurants that would donate food for the homeless and met a gentleman who owns a Chinese restaurant, he and his family make meals (large soup, rice, protein, vegs, and drink) and feed about 50 people 5 times a week. I have no idea how they do it, but they do, and just thought that was incredible. What incredible people with such a huge heart.
The fact that the last guy didn't think he was really giving him the money "ok you got your footage you can take the money back" was really heart breaking. So sad to think that there are people out there doing fake 'give aways' so sad, glad our guy is the real deal, a gentleman through and through
It’s cause that’s what a lot of influencers do. They offer them 20 bucks to pretend to get 10k or some absurd amount of money. Glad he was able to actually help them.
It's because he's right about it. I'm totally not a fan of just handing out money for YT content, also not in this case. 5000 is ofcourse great, but it doesn't cover much in a business. Ergo, it's for the content.
Well, most are not fake, i don't think. Still, that doesn't mean they don't do it for the views. Xiaoman could have just donated without the camera on at all, and never tell us. He could have just shown footage of the restaurant, and encouraged people to patronize them while they struggled during the pandemic, while giving money off-camera. But he chose to record it. The last guy was on to something. While Xiaoman gave a real donation, he also did it for the views, and the tea guy was well aware of this. They all do it for the views. If they didn't, they wouldn't record it.
@@VincentGroenewold a thousand dollars does cover a decent amount. It covers 1000$. If your running a restaurant struggling to get customers that could be a week of sales
The first woman is making me cry honestly. She's so upbeat and generous, offering him the complimentary tea and new-years candies, making conversation with him. She admits she is struggling, but tries to refuse the gift before she even knows how much it is, and then even more once she sees the amount.
Wendy is talking about how she's worried about covering expenses and things are looking bleak, and yet her more driving force was to make sure you had hot tea and special things to take home to your wife. Love this. She's proof that we don't need to look to Hollywood, professional sports or Washington DC for role models on how to treat each other.
@@ProcesareVideo it's a sad day when Americans see a small business owner being kind and say that's marxist. I wonder if you even understand the definition of marxist...maybe go back to school, if you ever went in the first place to be putting this kind of filth out on the internet.
My wife and I did this a few years back at a small mom and pop Chinese restaurant. It was around Christmas and we wanted to do something nice for them as they work harder then most restaurants in the area and their food is always amazing, so my wife suggested we make their holiday a wonderful one. I went to the bank before we headed to the restaurant, withdrew $4000 and we gifted it to them after we finished our meal. They tried to give it back as most of these wonderful people did, but we explained that it was for them and their many years of kindness and amazing food. They eventually accepted the money. Come spring time, they used the money to re paint the front of their restaurant, and they had an artist hand paint their businesses name in Chinese with a beautiful Koi fish right under the name. They still to this day express their gratefulness every time we enter through those doors. We are happy we made them happy. I wish more people spread this kind of love and joy for people like them.
Definitely, i started learning Spanish to better connect with people at work and even after just a week of learning you its a while new world. i can understand about 80% of whats being said if i have context and it makes it so much easier to communicate and truly understand people
The way she didn't answer when he asked if she had a chance to rest, just told him to sit and drink the tea. What an amazing, humble, hardworking lady.
That was a cut in the video. Willing to bet her response was that she never rests. Either that or, because of the pandemic, she had the time to take a long rest. (This is no judgement on her. I took nearly a month off when the first lockdowns happened). The only other thing possible, is that the conversation Either got too personal or not interesting for viewers.
the thing i have noticed is in this country so many immigrants struggle to make it then get hate when they finally do make it...this is the land of the free and the melding pot of the world ..let's all try to boost our neighbors and support local shops..as for her getting rest?..nah you can see it in her face that she is busting her ass to barely keep her shop open..sad what this country has come to with the whole covid thing..so many businesses closing and families going bankrupt
In all honesty you most likely saved more than one business/ family from disaster here. This is a perfect example of why I love watching your channel. It's about spreading love and connecting with people.
@@AR_119 i just dont agree with the "helped a lot of people" thing. He atleast earned double the money, that he gave away, with his video. He should be in shame giving only 1k each
I'm not Asian, but I can tell from this video that in the Asian culture people are taught that they need to work for their money and not expect it to be given to them. Respect that for sure.
That's true brother Being Asian that's one of the earliest thing I could remember my mother and father teaching me. Don't take things that don't belong to you and work for what you got.
I'm a grown ass man (52 y/o), but I almost shed a couple of tears when the first lady tried to put the money into his bag. I love genuine people and she's one of them.
That first lady is TOO nice. Over there struggling to survive and giving out jugs of tea and a bunch of candies lol The world doesn't deserve a soul as sweet as her.
It's amazing to see people who are struggling always willing to give. She just kept wanting to give you extra items and didn't want to even accept the money. You can tell she is a good person
The last one broke me.. "You already have the footage, so you can take it back". It speaks to how you can get so accustom to being abused, taken advantage of, and hurt that you cannot even believe a genuine act of kindness. That amount of pain and hurt is unbearable. Thank you for sending that support and kindness
That’s not what it’s about HAHAHA! You are so ignorant! Let me educate you. When I was 10 my Asian mother did her Asian friend a favor, and said friend tried for 15 minutes to pay my mother back, throwing money at each other saying “no no, it’s unnecessary!” There’s no abuse. It’s just culture. Chill.
@@WaywardVector i mean getting footage for "giving" away 5$ isn't a favor though. I agree the original comment is very enthusiastic about the video but in Nyc i bet they've seen a lot of shit and think that they might not understand fully how much it helps. As he said you have the footage so you can leave now and take it back meaning someone has done that before i wouldn't call it abuse but definitely ignorant
@@WaywardVector that would be the case if it was only “you can take it back”; the comment about footage suggests they’re disillusioned by or have encountered “influencers” who give away money for internet points rather than out of kindness and they suspect him of being the same.
From what Ive heard from a lot of Asians, even on the news, some people in America are actively looking for Asians to harrass for covid daily. There was even recently a black women who attacked 2 Asian women with a hammer, telling them to take off their mask and all. Then we got people harrassing koreans and saying shit like "fucking chinese" in their faces. The blaming culture is real.
That first woman deserves a million more red envelopes! She was genuinely happy to see one customer walk through the doors and even though she said business hasn't been good, she still packed extra stuff in the bag. Doing it all with a smile. I hope this video brought some business her way. All of them really, but especially her. I just appreciate genuinely kind people.
My dude walks into the second spot and they already know what he wants. THAT is fucking precious. My corner store does that shit every day and I love them for it.
Thats when u know that they value u alot, like they probably get so many customers but they remember you. I lovr it too bcuz it shows that they actually acknowledge that you care about them too
That's what happens when you go somewhere daily and they remember exactly what they want. I work at a grocery store and we sell cigarettes. There's this guy that comes in everyday and he always comes through my line because he knows that I know what kind he wants. And I don't even have to ask him if he needs them.
I cried when the first lady was saying she couldn't accept the money, she was obviously so taken aback by your generosity, she deserves every penny, hug, and customer
Yes and she said her husband will kill her lol. She is so sweet. To be honest Asian people ( I am one of them) very friendly but some of the Chinese ladies I love so much and there are a couple of them are so rude and short when doing restaurant business. I would go to that lady's restaurant in New York city and tip her handsomely and the guy on the street. Can I have their address or locations.
Chinese people that work and humble don't wanna take so much red pocket money because they have to regift some day and they don't know how to give back the pleasure. So yes from a cultural stand point, we try to avoid big tips like this because the person receiving it feels like they will owe you.
Same here, breaks my heart seeing someone so nice and humble have to struggle. It’s not like she’s taking it easy either, she has to work hard everyday. Wish these people the best
@@Isutaki It is very much the Chinese way. I used to have to go to the toilet and then pay the bill on the way back so that I actually got to pay the bill -my girlfriend often called me Mr Sneaky but really Chinese often did it that way too. This ha[[ened even when it was obvious to all that I had the greater capacity to pay and was quite prepared to pay. I think it great. Every now and then I would let them pay.
Went to spicy village, it was so damn good! Saw the person you gave the $5000 too, she was such a hard worker, the place is packed, business is still booming. Came here from Hawaii, I don’t regret it, we don’t have “real” Chinese food. I love the culture in New York. Thanks for not being biased, and when I was done I went to a couple local places, told them where i ate, they said that was an amazing place and great choice. Thanks 🙏 would of never found this place without you. Also the soup dumplings are so good.
@@skylarkesselring6075 Of course its not impossible. In the United States, home of the Diversity and Inclusion(TM), you have statistics, based on race that directly correlate to how good someone's culture is, what drives success, etc. For example, Asians are a very small minority, yet statistically are one of the top earning races in the US. Meanwhile, some other races score a lot lower in all kinds of metrics. Many white liberals love to make excuses for these races shortcomings but anyone willing to see past their politically correct lense can see its culture based. Just look at youtube trending lmao, literally the epicenter of pop culture is represented there, and you can see the cultural divide by race very clearly.
As a Chinese Canadian, whose uncle had to close his restaurant because of the times. Thank you for appreciating the underappreciated. Our community just raised 50$k for them this last month and he'll likely be able to restart in a couple months
I'm smiling so hard with that first lady she's so extra extra sweet it hurts my cheeks. And she only kept it once she realized she could give it away. THAT'S the kind of person she is. It's just so wholesome.
The enjoyment of this video is the fact that all of these people are so honorable that they don’t want to take the money because they believe they don’t deserve. Be grateful be a human and love each other.
Seriously.. I feel the exact same way. I realized that about four minutes in that my heart was breaking a little because these are the wonderful people who need to thrive. The covid Hysteria has claimed so many victims.
Bc of the first lady’s generosity caught candidly on camera, I guarantee her business not only survived but thrived during the pandemic. Remember what you give comes back to you 3-fold.

They are just scared that someday he'll come to ask for a big favor, like employing a friend. Their (modern) culture is based on bribery, that is what communists brought to Chinese people.
10:58 "You've already got the footage, you can take the money back" it's sad how many people do exactly that. Absolutely crazy how the guy suggests it himself tho, as if he wouldn't even be mad if someone pulled that shit on him. Very nice gesture, I hope it helped them all stay afloat.

The first woman was just so humble. The last guy seemed so defeated by the economy because of the pandemic... he was probably waiting the "gotcha" moment - as if it were a prank.
I got that feeling, too. It was almost like he has PTSD, like he was just completely shutting down. He is grateful, relieved, ecstatic, and can't believe his luck, but it was like it was all trapped inside from the months and months of stress and trauma and struggle. All we're told, is to work. Work. Work. Work. Feed the people. Every day. Work. Seeing this brings me to tears, knowing that at least some Asians are appreciated in this world. I'm being worked to the bone for.. other people.
Except for the second place. The one with the counters that completely hid them? She didn't try to give it back. She was grateful, but accepted it immediately.
My first impression with the first lady was honestly, she had that mother aura around her. She's like what a concerned and caring mom would do to her son who just visited her for a moment.
i cant express how heartwarming this gesture is for asians especially. for me, it’s typical to give gifts and not receive them (well, not without a quarrel or two). i bet each one of them went home that day and cried just because of your kindness.
I was lucky growing up in a pretty well to do family in the nicest areas in Florida. I had neighbors who were Asian and they were the best neighbors, they were very respectful of American Christian holidays and they even joined in stuff like Halloween and Easter egg hunts. I shocked my family by joining the military and it's caused a horrible friction between them and I for many years. Mostly because of my privileges afforded to me growing up but it was something that was meaningful to me because I felt I owed my country my service because of what our country offers us. I served with several Asian guys that I even went to combat with. Those guys were as patriotic as the best of us and I still stay in contact with one of them to this day. I play a game on my iPad called Boom Beach and I'm even in an all Chinese clan and I've been with them for about a year now and I've been playing for about 4 years total. I learn so much from them about their culture and what it's like over there. It's a 50 person clan so we're all pretty active. With all the talk about racism and slavery that we had here in the US, people never mention the slavery that the Asians went through here in our country when they were first here. They were forced into mining, building railroads and agricultural. They have risen up from those days and have been loyal Americans ever since and I'm happy to have been lucky my enough to called some of them my friend.
@@iBluz yes! So after internment camps the government didn't know what to do with the citizens they were illegally detaining so they decided to pick "key cities" in helping reintroduce these citizens. Haven't been in years and lost touch with some friends dont know how they doing.
I was a US flight attendant who flew the Beijing route. One Thanksgiving, years ago, I was on a layover and we decided to go to a restaurant whose specialty was Peking duck. It was NOT in an area tourists went to. We tried to leave a tip. The waitress wouldn't take it. We hid the tip money under a plate and ran for the door. She chased us down the street and returned it. The First Lady giving him the tea warmed my heart so much. Yea there’s a lot of really crappy people in the world. But part of me likes to believe that most of us are really kind at heart and really mean well and that maybe humanity isn’t a lost cause after all.

The Asian culture is so under appreciated in this country. Such a humble, thankful, overall good group of hardworking people that don’t get the recognition and appreciation in this country that they deserve.
Idk how americans can treat other cultures so poorly when a good percentage of America was built by and around other countries cultures and still to this day other cultures heavily influence us. I love the Asians ❤️
Asian people are really that humble and grateful for everything in their life. A month ago I gave a 20 dollar tip on a 40 dollar order and they insisted on me taking it back. We went back and forth until they gave up and said thank you. Appreciate every one out there just trying to make a living during these times.
No, its just courtesy to refuse an amount that big. My family does it to be polite and show that we are ultimately extremely grateful. At least in my family's case: we're accustomed to American customs and we appreciate tips. ^_^
@@ariannawaters5154 nah it's just culture to be very pushy with generosity - I've seen so many cases where Chinese will damn near fight each other to pay for a restaurant check. My parents and family friends would do this shit constantly lol
The first woman is so kind and so caring. People like her, businesses like hers, are incredibly important cultural and societal pillars, and they should get all the support they deserve.
That first Lady is just oozing humility. Was so adamant about not taking that whole tip lol. Such a beautiful human being. Thanks for this video Xiaoma.
Culturally I would say its a feeling of shame. To be given handouts. like a feeling that there viewed as poor. Which they offset that by pride of working hard for what they earn
I love how every single one of them tried to give the money back. In a world where it seems like everyone expects things for free, it's good to see hard working people who are truly grateful.
No. They should not be forced to be in this situation in the first place where they have to exhaust themselves just to make ends meet. America is a hellhole. Other countries who do better than us have free healthcare, free schooling, better parks and transportation, better social structure, etc etc. They didn't deserve the money because they are hard-working. They deserved it because they are financially struggling. Imagine if the government did something about it for everyone who needed it, instead of leaving it to youtubers to handle a meager few cases. Not everyone can be Mr. Beast. Capitalism makes sure of that.
I cannot believe how amazing these people are. So humble and hardworking. They seriously didn’t want free money. They just want a chance to earn their own. I am deeply touched. We need more Americans like this. P.S. I seriously thought Wendy was going to tackle you to get that money back into your pocket. I loved her!

When you record your good deeds it's impossible for others to tell whether you are doing it out of generosity or just to convince people you're generous and build up a channel.
What strikes me as the most awesome part of this: every single person robustly refused. It speaks to the proud culture of the Chinese people while others would just accept it (and yes say thank you) but the instance on all of them reufsing, saying they cannot do this....that is not only what Chinese culture is about, but alsoooooo part of the American Dream. Chinese-Americans/Chinese folks in general work their butts off; and I am truly heartfelt to see that people who were in a need (because YOU know these businesses) genuinely were grateful and not wanting a dang thing in return. Thank you Xioma!!!

Totally agree, that lady has an exceptionally generous heart!
Awesome Video 📸 Keep it up 💯💯

People like Mr beast are exactly like this and one day the truth will be revealed

I wish more people spread this kind of love and joy for people like them.

i cant express how heartwarming this gesture is for asians especially. for me, it’s typical to give gifts and not receive them (well, not without a quarrel or two). i bet each one of them went home that day and cried just because of your kindness.
True :)

Asian people are really that humble and grateful for everything in their life. A month ago I gave a 20 dollar tip on a 40 dollar order and they insisted on me taking it back. We went back and forth until they gave up and said thank you. Appreciate every one out there just trying to make a living during these times.
That may have been because tipping isn’t in Asian culture and can often be seen as rude and degrading.
No, its just courtesy to refuse an amount that big. My family does it to be polite and show that we are ultimately extremely grateful. At least in my family's case: we're accustomed to American customs and we appreciate tips. ^_^
