The man (husband) from Ghana's reaction was my favorite by far. The instant "oh" of confusion to realizing that you just spoke his native language was so genuine.
The main thing that I see in all your videos is the joy and love you’ve found learning other languages and exploring other cultures. I still believe there is much more love in the world than hate, despite what the television and internet tells us. Thanks for such an uplifting channel! ❤️
It only takes those willing to be with their brothers and sisters to acknowledge they've never been alone or isolated. Technology is a double edged sword. It can bring the common man together, but as always, there will be those who use it to deceive. Be well 💚
There is few guys from pakistan at work (I work in the UK) and for fun I picked up few words and they are also very happy when I speak arabic/urdu to them. Really impressive language learning ability, you have always been my inspiration for learning languages and I want to thank you 😁. Thanks to you, I got into the world of languages and discovered in it a passion. Keep the good work man!
This also seems to be his full time job so don’t just assume he’s better than you because I assume you have work or school outside of learning languages
Man, being able to see people reacting so positively to your efforts in communicating to them in their language must be so great. Keep it going man, you've got a gift that keeps on giving.
I loved this video. The people from Ghana seem so nice and friendly. I want to go to GhanaFest now. I would kill to have the talent that Xioma has. He just goes around making people smile and be happy. It's a gift.
This is powerful for race relations! Look how their faces light up when he speaks their language. Community, communication and just treat others with respect. We are all so similar but you don't know it until you speak to others.
Nelson Mandela once said, "Because when you speak a language, English, well many people understand you, including Afrikaners, but when you speak Afrikaans, you know you go straight to their hearts.” (many people tend to misquote this, ironically the Mandela effect) Whether people misquote it or not, he's still right and this can be said about any language. It's amazing how much happiness and friendliness occurs when people relate to and understand one another. Not all heroes wear capes, and the ability to converse with a wide variety of native speakers in their native languages is practically a superpower. When people move to another country where their native language isn't the dominant one, it's hard to understand. But when you're constantly expected to assimilate to another country's culture, values, and society, it must be so nice to have someone take that step for you too to better connect with new communities and welcome them with open arms
My favorite thing about these videos is how many smiles he puts on peoples faces, it's a lot more important than you'd think. Really appreciate this guy.

What a wonderful gift to have. The fact that you can learn so many languages and connect with so many people because of that. I appreciate that you are willing to do this when so many are afraid to even learn a few words of Spanish to connect with another person. You are doing more to break down barriers than most people I know. Thank you for bringing joy to a world imprisoned by xenophobia.
I'd give anything for every human to be this in love with other cultures of the world. There is so many human connections being made. And everyone should feel it.
Universal language, happiness, love, empathy, anger, hatred, sadness. I think its really neat no matter how many names their are for a banana there is only one way to convey happiness. Smiile!!
This video is so uplifting. People are so impressed and honored when they see that you’ve made an effort to understand their language and culture. You can see an instant connection light up in their eyes and it’s beautiful. The world would be a better place if more people truly respected different cultures and made an effort to learn new languages to form a more diverse social circle. Cheers, Xiaoma. You are setting such a great example for everyone.
Xiaoman really needs to get picked up by a streaming service for his own show. I truly think this is the content that will break down the walls between the hearts of people around the world

I am a British and spent 2 months in Ghana travelling in 2012. It was an amazing experience. The people were welcoming and friendly, great food, beautiful scenery and wildlife and safe with relatively good tourist infrastructure. You should definitely go - they will love you!
I went to Ghana at 2010 and when I came back for holidays in 2021 everything changed, I was shocked it looked like I jumped 30 years in the future because of how advanced it was. Ghanaians are soo wholesome and the most peaceful country in africa

This man single handedly showing the world if we all just try and learn each other's languages we can all be friends. I'm a native Spanish speaker it definitely brings me joy when I hear someone from a different culture/race speak my language I get emotional. Pushing myself to learn at least 3 to 4 more languages. So far i'm learning Italian and Japanese. Wanna learn French, Korean, Dutch and Portuguese just to be able to understand and speak full sentences. Learning other languages is frustrating, but so muchh fun. After this and the other video I saw I really wanna add Twi to the least.
Maybe I’m a lot older than you. I’m 63. I’m Puerto Rican but know no Spanish. My mother wouldn’t allow the language or the food in the house. This was in the 60’s and America ( if you can believe it ) was more racist than it is now. It’s what was called ‘ assimilation’. Adopting the culture of the majority you live in close proximity to. It’s a coping mechanism to avoid racism by pretending to be white Americans. It wasn’t until I was 11 that I learned we were a Puerto Rican. My mother would straighten our hair and warn - if anyone asks you - you say we’re from Spain. Being from Spain is more Old World and prestigious than being Puerto Rican. I know a smattering of words after 3 Spanish classes but still can’t speak to my own people. Make things different for your children.
@@nofirstgonzalez7888 First of all, if you want to learn, you can. There are articles that say you CAN learn a language to fluency as a an adult, it's not a "genius" thing only. Yes, a lot of parents in older generations purposefully did this, but not all of them. Although I understand regretting not picking up language if there was a choice, I don't personally like it when people say it in a "my people" context. The truth is that people born in America and grew up in the culture ARE from America. [ ] - American culture is not the same as [ ] culture. In the spirit of connecting between different cultures with love, people can also acknowledge their own culture with love.
@@nofirstgonzalez7888 UA-cam is an amazing resource for learning. Spanish in particular is a good language to learn because there's soooo much content out there due to the shear number of people that speak it. I took Spanish in school but never really learned anything. Yet, using the internet I've been able to get to the point where I can understand quite a bit after only a year or so. I highly recommend watching UA-camrs that teach Spanish. It works so much better than the classes, and the classes do end up helping to some degree as a starting point due to having some background of grammer etc.. If you truly want to learn I encourage you to not give up. You don't have to be perfect. Even just being able to watch a tv episode and get the main idea, or help someone with your broken Spanish is an amazing feeling and makes all the frustration feel worth it.

The pure joy I experienced as a simple man in southern TN, US is so heartfelt....I wish I could go through life like this on a daily basis so bad....to just....walk around putting smiles on soo many people's faces of so many different cultures and parts of the world. I love this so much. Everyone seriously appreciates the effort to learn their homeland enough to be able to speak about it it's always driven home like family love. I cannot ever get over this awesomeness. Even if I die of cancer in ten years. I absolutely will never regret that i've lived long enough to experience my childhood before the rise of the internet, to have grown with the gaming industry, the rise of the internet, cell phones, etc. into the era we are currently at. It's been an incredible ride for sure and it continues to be so every time I try to learn anew on here. It's truly incredible when you see so much change in a short, 30ish span of living.
Giving you food and a place to rest is insane. In many countries that is a huge honor. The respect they instantly have for you is incredible. Shows how a little bit of effort goes a long way. Ok, maybe more than a little effort lol. I need to see if you've traveled to my country, Colombia. I know it's just Spanish but it's cool. Very similar to neighboring countries in many ways. But still beautiful in nature.

You do a very important job of showing positive things about African countries. Unfortunately, the media tends to only publish images of misery and suffering. We noticed how people are generally kind and welcoming and how the countries of Africa have beautiful places and fascinating cultures.
Positive would be to dispel stereotypes saying Africans are getting excited and Africans are giving me free food is doing the opposite.
@Equinox using sensitive to try and shut down a valid point doesn't work. Africans are not a monolith and neither are "Africans doing this and that" it is a continent of diverse people and the titles are just crass.

Nelson Mandela once said, "Because when you speak a language, English, well many people understand you, including Afrikaners, but when you speak Afrikaans, you know you go straight to their hearts.” (many people tend to misquote this, ironically the Mandela effect)
Whether people misquote it or not, he's still right and this can be said about any language.
If learning culture is to much for you, you shouldn't move there.
