Where I live in the US, 99% of the yarn is acrylic too. We just have big box craft stores so the yarn is not great. I feel your pain. Also yes, to how much harder bad supplies make a project

Completely agree! I can’t understand why sheep wool is not “promoted” or used more in the industry. Some farmer friend told me once they are throwing away all their row wool, they need to sheer the sheep but nobody wants the fleeces, even for free. The farmer then have to bear the cost of disposing of them. Think about how much money they could make otherwise, farmers, yarn producers and ultimately happier knitters 😅

I cant knit 2AT sleeves with magic loop technique as the sides end up with ladders. I just cast onto two separate circular needles and knit them at the same time to keep track of the decrease rows. I couldnt do Kitchener stitch and talk at the same time. 😂 You must use the red rubber heart and T pin to tighten ChiaGoo tips, so they dont unscrew with the knitting motion. Your knitting is wonderful. I dont think I have the patience at present. Dont know how you find the time to knit, doing full time work and study. I had to go back into the workforce since retiring 2016, due to the cost of living being exorbitant.

I can hear you! It’s not easy to find the time! I used to knit so much more, and now only a few hours a week here and there, hence my podcast got more sporadic 🤦

I had to stop the podcast to look at the Peer Gynt. Your sweater looks incredible. As for the black yarn... you kinda have to get used to just knowing what is happening and going with the process. I usually have some decent light, but in general I can't see my stitches very clearly. For the back of the sweater, I often put in a bit of yarn of a contrasting color in the back. You're not the only person who sometimes accidentally wears their sweaters the wrong way.

I have been wondering if it is possible to modify the Billie to have less ease in the arms and body. Your mods look amazing!
What type of yarn did you say you used? Looks like you maybe skipped the mohair.
    Beautiful work!

I used Peer Gynt by sandnes garn, a dk yarn, no mohair 😀 to be honest I did go down in gauge and size, I found that having a bit of less ease works quite well with this jumper as the pattern is a bit loose

Great episode Sam. I agree about yarn pricing: many of the very beautiful yarns are just beyond my reach. Brexit too has ruined many smaller businesses as they cannot ship between the UK and EU anymore. Just awful.

Absolutely agree! The should remove taxation from yearns 😬 I am going to start a petition with the EU
