Hi Sam. You can try My Ivory Room (UK), Garntopia (Norway) or Sommerfuglen (Denmark). Garntopia postage is a little expensive but it gets to you pretty quickly. It would probably be better if you’re ordering other yarn to make it more worthwhile. I bought mine in shop from My Ivory Room. However, I have also ordered from Sommerfuglen and their postage costs were reasonable. I have used Finull once for a jumper and really like it too. I hope to use it again in future.
Nice video ... i own the XS version ... but it's on sale today Cyber Monday for $56 (for the Medium) so i just bought it : )
Good choice!
A great pattern and yarn choice. Since its black and white ,its versatile for other seasons too. Looking forward to your cast on.
Thanks so much
Thank you, Sam! Looking forward to your videos and how the jumper turns out. 🤗
You are so welcome!
Yay, brilliant Sam. 🎄looking forward to this so much.🎄
Hope you enjoyed it!
Hi Sam i love all yoyr patterned jumpers ❤
Yay! Thank you!
👍
Beautiful sweater! Yay. Vlogmas! Best wishes for the Season and Christmas!
Thank you! You too!
@@irishfarmart And congratulations on the 6000 subscribers!
@@toomiepalawww too kind! Thank you
Thank you so much for the lovely words Sam I really apprecciate you!🥺🥺❤ ahahaha please take your time with the testknit there is no rush!! (I cannot wait to see your marbled version tho😍). Congrats for the 6k!! definitelly very well deserved. You have a very particular request, the only pattern that came to mind is the Rhue sweater by rebecca clow!! it has a saddle shoulder constrution top down, which is something you do not do too often; it has colourwork in the middle of it and you swap MC and CC as you go. It came to mind when you said dark at the top and light at the bottom.
Ohhh ciao! Non le conoscevo!!!! Ma sono fantastiche 😍😍😍😍😍😍 Grazie mille!!!!
👍
Congrats on 6k! I have a few different pattern recommendations… from the same designer! Sophie Ochera does some really great, interesting, fun, modern color work. I’ve made 3 of her designs and I have plans to make 3 more this year!
Those look spectacular! Thank you
Sam Hooks and needles don't deliver to Ireland, how do you suscribe please, I'd really love to?
They do!!! I got mine shipped from The Netherlands! Let me ask them, I ll come back to you as soon as I get a reply
Thank you so much!
You just popped up on my feed. I've liked and subscribed. Thank you for telling us about Jardo's free patterns. And your book reviews are refreshingly honest. Happy knitting 💚🧶💚
Awesome! Thank you! Go glad you liked my podcast!!!! And welcome ❤️
So very wholesome! What nip is that?
There is are free knitting patterns called Deer John and Drops Design 32-11 Sweater with stars and reindeer which might help you with your Ugly Holiday jumper. If you like video game motifs, Eight Bit has some cute motifs you could incorporate into your next colorwork jumper.
ohhh they are so beautiful!!!!
Nice sir
Thanks and welcome
Cathedral of the Sea is one of my favorite books ❤
so so good!!!!
Hey Sam, Congratulations on making your 6k milestone. Happy for you and it's well deserved, keep up the good work. Lovely jumper, saddle shoulder seems to fit ones body better then others and more customizable I think. Also, nice Holiday decor behind you. Look forward to more in the future. Take care. Also, a thought, have you tried phrankos sweater pattern? Interesting program where you add your gauge and measurements then provide a pattern to which you can add your own color work cabling etc. just a thought and maybe worth looking at least.
Thanks so much! I didn't know about phrankos....sounds interesting!
Sam! I love your channel. Thank you! I am working on the Wixom sweater. its colorwork is simple but striking! I have seen on men too! also the For fox sake by Maxim cyr! its always great and would look GREAT on you!
Wonderful! Thanks a million ❤️❤️
Hi and congratulations for the 6000 subscribers! I think you are very good in colorwork so you should try the Norwegian olympic patterns. For example the Nagano Adult Pullover by Jorunn Heggdal, I think it is a free pattern. Thank you for the wonderful, and very funny, podcast, and I am looking forward to seeing your vlogmas in Italy!
Thanks so much!!!! I ll check the pattern out now
Congrats on 6k. No idea if these are the kind of colorwork patterns that would appeal to you, but the Unbearable Hoodie is on my to make list. For next Christmas (because I know I can't finish it in time) I just discovered the Krampus Yoke sweater which my brother will laugh at and hopefully love. Both are fun colorwork
Thanks for the suggestion! I definitely have to look it up!
I’m interested to see what your Christmas pattern will look like. Not,too ugly, I hope!
Ahahah we’ll see! Hopefully I ll get something nice out of that
Sam, I always look forward to your visits. ♥️
You're the best!
Ciao Sam, congratulations on the 6k! You should check the pattern called "Bosque de Araucarias Sweater" by Sacdrac Opazo or "Trembling" by Anna Maltz. I think both would look ace on you!
Ohhhh these are so pretty 🤩 thank you
Hi Sam! Now, it's a cardigan, but check out the Figures pattern by Audrey Borrego. And in the Projects part, go see the one called Figures Test For Francis -- you can see several photos of it on a male body. I've this pattern myself, but not made it yet.
Thanks for the tips! I ll check it out now…wouldn’t mind to make a cardigan tho!
Hello! All the best from rainy, cold and gloomy London! Have you every consider to try PATTERNS of Védís Jónsdóttir? absolutely lovely colourworks. I had two jumpers knitted based on her patterns. Highly recommend.
I'll check it out! Thanks a million!
Congratulations on 6k ❤️ I mean you have to make any of the Olympic Norwegian patterns. They are a couple of free ones in ravelry that are crazy beautiful. 1998 one. I think they are from the magazine Dale of Norway.
Oh thank you! I already have them all 😛😛😛😛 I think you are right, I definitely should make one…or two
The Glaze jumper pattern looks incredible, I can’t wait to see how your version turns out.
Thanks so much
Have you seen patterns by Max the Knitter (Maxim Cyr)? His ‘Be Positive’ jumper is modern. I really enjoy your podcasts with all of the different crafts and book recommendations. Just finished Pillars of the Earth which I thoroughly enjoyed 😊
Oh it’s an amazing book!!!!! One of my favourites! I am tempted to read it again 😛 thanks for the pattern recommendation! I did knit a pattern of Max the knitter a few years ago…wasn’t my most brilliant job 😅
Look at you, pattern hoe! (not en entry for the give away haha) 😜
Congrats on 6k! If you want a colowork pattern that's 'modern' I have a test coming out in a couple of weeks....
Thanks so much
Your sweater looks amazing. I recently also discovered the great collection of knitting patterns by järbo.
Oh thank you!
Hi Sam. Have you considered the Stor Stormur pattern by Meiju knits? Am knitting one for my brother at the moment!
Ohhhh that’s new to me! I ll check it out! Thanks so much
Happy Thanksgiving from Iowa! I realize the Irish and Italians don’t do this holiday, but it is always appropriate to be thankful.
Oh so true! Happy Thanksgiving ❤️
❤
I plan on ordering the Schmincke Horadam set of 12. Is there any difference between the retro version and the regular version? Thanks for the video!
Not really, apart from the writing at the exterior of the box itself. So it’s just an aesthetic difference only
@@irishfarmart I see. Thanks for the prompt reply.
Are the backpack straps reinforced properly at the top ? Can it carry 30 kg weight on backpack straps ?
Definitely! They are well padded and pretty much indestructible
hello again, Sam! The most beautiful men's sweater I can remember off the cuff (and that I knitted with mods for myself) is Armas, by Mari Muinonen/tikru. I do suggest extra shortrows to lower the front of the collar. You'll find it on Rav.
Mine (authentic) also has a smell inside! I don't know what's going on because none of my other products have the smell of the luxrul bag. Called LV and they said it is normal and I can wipe the inside with a damp cloth. I thought the lining was suede but it's actually microfiber so I'm going to look for ways to remove the microfiber smell because the smell is keeping me from using it often.
Japanese calligrapher here, those brushes are commonly used for calligraphy, but it can be used for ink paintings and watercolors as well depending on the materials and shape. The misconception of you saying that the goat haired brushes are stiff is wrong. The brown haired (wolf or horse haired) brushes are the stiff ones, whilst the goat hairs are the soft ones. The ones you soaked in the water are mixed hair, which is a composition of rabbit hair (the black ones inside with twice the stiffness of the horse hair) on the inside and goat hair on the outside. Speaking of which, the water shouldn't be worried about as it's normal with the procedure, it's the glue residue that came off from the brush. Calligraphy brushes are usually glued up to maintain the tip and desired working length (especially for the small brushes). Now for the elephant in the room, the hair shedding. It's VERY common to have that occurence as animal hairs are thin; as you let them loose, it'll come off naturally. I've had brushes shed a little bit of hair, nothing to worry about and doesn't affect the quality. Though if you're concerned if it sheds even more, I would recommend tying and wrapping the base of the hair (which connects to the handle) with some sewing threads; make sure the wraps are tight and the brush base is stiff. Finally with the sizing, I'm not Chinese by any means, but 小 would mean that the brush is by far the smallest, following with 中, and 大 being the biggest. You can even go beyond those sizes with brushes ranging up to 4cm in diameter; Usually would be used for bigger linework and giant calligraphy Edit: I forgot to mention that the brushes you bought are very low quality, but just enough to hold a year for a beginner. If you want it to last for a lifetime, I highly recommend buying each brush (aside from the small fine line brushes) separately. Aside from that, I'd like you to try out ink painting to experiment with different styles. Essentially just watercolor, but with a grayscale aesthetic
Thanks so so much for the in depth review! I really appreciate and learning from a master calligrapher is such a blessing! Thank you
Really very nice, thanks. Dee
Thank you! 😊
I got this set when it launched. I used some standard half pans down the centre ( as Schmincke ones are too wide) and added some additional colours, cerulean, carmine, Indian yellow, and burnt umber.
Thanks for sharing
