In New Zealand some months ago when Jacinda Ardern resigned a bunch of people of all ages assembled at a bar in Auckland CBD around 5pm and literally shared crackers, wine and the odd pint, very low-key and not in any way unruly, loud or anything, it was people mostly sitting around on picnic benches quietly chatting, They advertised the event on Facebook inviting anyone that also wanted to celebrate the PM moving on. Police turned up in mass and shut the event down and arrested anyone questioning why they were there. The whole thing was live-streamed on FB and the person streaming i believe was arrested as well eventually. Watching the clip it was a bunch of mum and dad types , some in suits , some in middle of the rd office working clothes, no gangs , no banners etc ... just like-minded people who were opposed to her BigC19 tactics happy she was being moved on. It says A LOT about our Government overreach now when you're not allowed to openly celebrate someone who you didn't vote for moving on.

Resignation should not disqualify anyone from prosecution. Bring them before the courts, and if found guilty, let the FULL force of the law upon them, including but not limited to loss of the overly generous parliamentary pension.
I honestly don’t know why there are not more people commenting this same thing. I fully agree that just because you leave office it does not make you immune to prosecution for serious misconduct - and that rodent is guilty of a lot of things - COVID number one!!.
Aside from that I believe that when leaving office you should not be allowed to take a political pension & be employed (usually in a highly paid job). It’s one or the other - what an insult to us plebs who cannot even retire until 67 (I’m the same age as that Dic - Tator)

I agree that we should always use our votes carefully. I didn't have to live through the lockdowns My community obeyed the rules and COVID didn't spread widely. I am wondering though how many people who attended this rally today broke the lockdown rules thus spreading the disease and causing longer lockdowns than necessary. Maybe Arvi could ask that question next time. If rules hadn't been broken the virus would not have spread so widely. Andrews may have made mistakes but he couldn't stop selfish people from doing the wrong thing. All Victorians suffered because too many people in Melbourne broke the rules. When you assert your right to do as you please you may deny others the right to be safe. I don't think that is how it's supposed to work!

It appears, is copied and parroted, grows large and reaches its peak when eager new acolytes start forcing it into inappropriate dialogues, just to be seen using it. For status. Thus begins its wane.
Like most, I had to look up what it meant when I first saw "NPC". Kinda diminishes the power of a label or insult if you had to seek its meaning in a dictionary first.
The last few weeks (to me at least, I have no other social media platforms) has seen its 3rd or 4th rise out of obscurity in the last decade. It'll be interesting how long it takes before every 3rd poster is throwing it around as commonly as the word "the".
Then saturation, its perceived power will lessen, as will the persuasive effects of the opinions containing it. It will fade to relative obscurity, live in the outworld for a while, then slowly return once more to prominence and over-use.
An observation of rank trivia to be sure, but a little fad that has kept me amused over the last decade.
