- Leading Yes campaigner Noel Pearson is being accused of offending multicultural communities.
Mr Pearson at the National Press Club of Australia asked people of multicultural communities where they fit into Australia saying it was “a bit unclear”.
“Are you with the mob from the UK? Are you kind of honorary settlers? Because some of you are the wrong colour,” he said.
“I say to them - where do you fit into Australia? Because we can move to an Australia where the Indigenous, the British descent and the multicultural mob become one.”
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has criticised the statements from Mr Pearson.
Noel, that’s racism. Period.

Water and land for development are the resources that population growth put pressure on the most domestically.
The Indigenous population did not own the land by admission of their own culture.
Furthermore they murdered each other over it on an ongoing basis.
What's more, the atrocities committed by the indigenous population against their newborns and teenaged promised wives should not evade scrutiny. It is nice and all to paint a picture of a population of tribes living peacefully when the reality is something else entirely.
Lastly I generously invite any Indigenous Australian to live as their ancestors did before 1788 and tell me things were better back then.

Aboriginies came from India and Indonesia. They wiped out Java man over time. We are all immigrants. But you think you are special because your ancestors were here before ours. But many of us have been here longer than Pearson. He seems to forget the sacrifice the Australians made in defeating the Japanese.
