Forgot to mention how you started with a feature that most people don’t talk about and something I discovered after doing some videos and saw the flicker. On my Nikon Z6 II I turned on the feature but there was no fine tuning of the shutter speed (angle), it just seemed to handle it with no issues. I dug heavily into the manual to learn the features of this great little camera. I went from a skeptic to a believer in a matter of weeks. I still love Nikon, even though I sold my Z6 II to finance the A7R V purchase.
I hope more folks will discover your channel, I liked the video and what you covered. I recoded a video to cover some of these things on the camera but haven’t posted it yet. Giving you a sun and looking for more content in the future.

I have never used a Nikon camera. Would love to try them out. I was really happy with that antiflicker. It made it a cool experience to use. Thanks for joining the team. I look forward to hearing more feedback from you in the future.

@@BrianTheCameraGuy I've loved their image quality over the years from the different cameras I owned from them. I've heard about Canon and Sony cameras having color issues over the years and all this talk about color science sounded like sales talk to make them sound better but, users of the cameras had complaints. The FX30 image isn't as good color wise as Nikon's but, Sony has a lot of useful tech that I hope will be in the upcoming Nikon cameras.
As I'm not doing color critical work the FX30's light weight and video recording features made it a keeper. I hope when they redo it, they improve the colors, screen size and that grip. Oh a slightly bigger body would be nice too.

The tech is definitely there for the fx30. It has a lot of tools to make getting the perfect image easier to obtain!!

You could make a video about the memory cards. I bought a CF Express type b card because I got so confused by all the different cards I could use.

Totally agree on WB issue. Want to use CineEI more but this need to do a correct exposure every time I shoot - is mind boggling. Why not to allow us to AWB with auto AWB Lock or something like that?? Errgghhh :)

I would agree. It is super fustrating that you cannot do auto white balance. It does a good time in auto, let's go Sony!!

Sony will release an Apsc new camera just like A7S3 with FX3,a cheaper can take photo but no fan FX30

I think they will release a camera that will be an APS-C version of the a7iv. It will have a smaller evf. It will be a photo first camera. I will be shocked if they give you a premium option that is an APS-C version of the a7siii.

Nice video on the FX30. Couple of things though, the dual base ISO of 800/2500 is when you shoot in Log mode, Cine EI and Quick. For the other picture profiles and Flexible ISO Log mode the entire range is available. From what I’ve seen, Sony has a pretty decent amount of APSC lens although a lot could use updating. I agree on the screen needing to be larger, especially for a camera without an EVF. Let’s hope they improve that in the future and make it multi-angle like the A7R V. The low light capability on this camera is actually quite good. I’ve posted a low light “vlog test” video shooting in Cine EI and S-Cinetone on my channel showing it in action.
As a Nikon shooter for many years, I have to say this camera is much more than a lot of UA-camrs give it credit for. It’s not a hybrid camera in the typical sense as the photo features are stripped down but it takes some really good photos. For video though, it’s really good.

Hey Wayne. Thanks for checking out my video. You are right about the base ISOs vs the flexible ISOs. Have the flexibility to change those ISOs make flexible so much of a better choice for me. You are right about the low light. This camera can hold its own when it comes to the low light arena!
Thank you so much for checking out my video. This was a fun one to make. Hope you enjoyed as much as I enjoyed making it.

@@BrianTheCameraGuy You’re welcome! This camera has generated some interesting videos about it not being good for video or low light videos. I read up and watched Sony’s video on how to use Cine EI to learn how to shoot that way. Some channels have been testing and posting incorrect information and the responses from potential buyers in the early days was to criticize Sony for putting out a camera that doesn’t perform as they said. I think in the rush to get views, people didn’t really research things thoroughly prior to doing their tests.

the display of fx30 is actualy larger resolution than his big brother fx3... how can you complain about the display? it's improved, many youtubers say that in the majority of cases you dont even need an external monitor, you also have focus mapping that is a quite nice feature....

    • @waynerm002
      @waynerm002 Рік тому +2

@@PascalVideography Sony did increase the resolution from 1.44M to 2.36M dots however, as stated being an EVF-less device, it would have been nice to have the same 3.2" (or larger) multi angle screen from the A7R V on the FX30. Having a larger resolution doesn't make it a larger screen, it makes the image look better but you are still dealing with a small display.
Not everyone using this camera has perfect eyes and I'm certain most would laud it more if it had a larger screen.

Oh I think it is a really great camera. No one should worry about that. I think everyone hears APS-C and thinks no good. That should not be the thought at all. I enjoyed this camera a lot!!

Your down side about lens choices for Sony APS-C is absurd. You know you can use full frame lenses on Sony APS-C cameras, right? So, no, it's not a downside. You simply have to account for the crop factor. Which you already do whenever you own an APS-C camera. The question in the title is ridiculous. People were dropping videos with the same question about Micro 4/3 cameras. Which was just as dumb a question as it is about APS-C cameras. The APS-C sensor is about the same size as the Super 35 sensors that you will find on many professional productions. It comes down to the resolution of the sensor and whether its back side illuminated or stacked, which will decide its sensitivity and noise levels. And the sensor for the FX30 is not only a brand new sensor, it is a back side illuminated sensor making it more sensitive to light and a lower noise floor.
The EVF? Really? The FX30 is part of Sony's cinema line. Which means it was not intended to have an EVF. So, to make it a down side is again unwarranted. Why did you bother getting the FX30 if you found so many down sides? Which really aren't down sides, but only reasons to complain. You knew the FX30 was APS-C and without an EVF before it was released. So, to turn these specs into "down sides" is totally dishonest. Huge thumbs down on this video.

Thank you much for the feedback. I really appreciate you taking the time to check out the video. I can understand your point of view and can appreciate how you feel. As I stated, this is a great camera, but there are things that don't work for me. Others will not find them as problems and will love this camera through and through.
I have been trying to figure out how to make this camera and the fx3 work in my workflow. The downsides that I stated are mine and may not be everyone's.
Again, I appreciate you sharing your point of view and can accept how you feel. When making videos you cannot make everyone happy but I am glad you commented so I can continue to get better! Thank you!!
