ONION RINGS Recipe: Take 1 large onion & slice it into rings. (Ami says the fatter the slice the better.)
The WET batter bowl - 3/4 cup chickpea flour (sifted) mixed with 1/2 cup water & whisked.
The DRY crumb bowl - Mix breadcrumbs (GF or not whatever you like), garlic salt or regular salt, and onion powder. With one hand dip one slice at a time into the wet batter, then shake off excess & dump into the dry bowl. With the other hand cover the onion ring with dry crumb mixture. (Keeping one hand wet & the other dry). Place the rings on a lined baking sheet (lined with silicone or parchment paper). Keep the rings separate from each other. They will likely fill your tray.
Bake @ 180C/350F for ~15-20 minutes until done.
Dip the baked rings into the DIPPING SAUCE- mix Greek-style yogurt with ketchup. That's it.

Ami, I can eat when I'm not hungry, I could eat as much as you. Do you eat for pleasure, like I could, or are you only eating until you are not hungry or do you keep going until you're full? Thank you.

I made these yesterday!!! Pro tip: if you use homemade breadcrumbs (I made mine out of toasted Ezekiel bread blitzed in the food processor,) you don't need to double-dip them. Just dunk in chickpea batter, coat in breadcrumbs, and bake! I'll eat onions like apples, but this is gourmet:) Thanks, Ami! Your recipes rule:)

Light a small tea light candle next to your cutting board while you're chopping onions. It really helps with burning, watery eyes.

Maybe because a large batch was being made, it was preferable for Ami to cook in the oven. Most air fryers that people have aren't huge. Ami uses her air fryer for loads of her recipes, so it's probably reasonable to assume she'd cook a smaller batch of onion rings in her air fryer at some point.

Thank you Ami for your recipes. I look forward to your posts. Challenge - can you use your creative mind to devise a recipe for low calorie nutrient dense banoffee pie? I tasted a vegan banoffee pie in a restaurant in DaNang Vietnam yesterday and it was to die for, but was it low calorie…probably not. I wondered how would Ami recreate this?

The majority of people aren't so saintly over this. Other popular UA-camrs Plantiful Kiki and Chelsea Mae Cullen all agree that eating a little of something that's a bit processed offsets the higher percentage of non-processed food that any wfpb follower eats. That completely denying yourself food unless it's totally wfpb, could make good habits/or weight loss harder to achieve. Obviously, there will be people who are very strict about this and (to their knowledge) don't eat anything that's processed at all - and that's up to them. You can eat 97% wfpb and and still call yourself a wfpb follower.
