I actually got into the Fallout games through number three, at the time I thought it amazing. Then I played Fallout: New Vegas, which put number three into perspective. After playing through New Vegas I started to hate Fallout 3, crappy writing, empty world, ect. THEN I played Fallout 2 which put New Vegas into perspective. I still love New Vegas, but Fallout 2... nothing could possibly hold a candle to that.
I've followed this series since its inception and New Vegas is my second favorite. Fallout 3 isn't really bad though, mediocre writing to say the least but the gameplay was a blast. If you actually want to play a bad Fallout game play "Brotherhood of Steel" for the PS2. There's a bad fallout game.
oh shut up about "Oh bethesda ruined fallout, its terrible my opinion actualy matters" fallout 3 and new vegas are perfectly fine, just because it isnt a fucking turn based birds eye view game...
When the song comes on, I keep thinking of Enclave troopers in a row holding each others shoulders and are dancing by putting their left foots out then rights.
Alkan ustalar Butchered the Lore? Not that much. It went off of tactics with the whole "Brotherhood splite up and went everywhere." thing. It followed Fallout with the FEV in vault 87 (Different strand) The Enclave is kept out of the west.
THANK YOU! Damn, I couldn't believe how much fighting there was going on here. I bought New Vegas a few days ago and it has become my favourite game. I just bought 3 and have the other two on Steam. It's probably the greatest RPG series of all time, and rightly so. Hopefully 4 is well worth the wait.
this game made me mature when i got it. 10 years of age, 1998, its greatness is beyond that of words can give, you have to play it, to feel it, to become one whit it, to love and hate it. bless the fallout series. 1,2,3,new vegas they are the fruits of my life.
Did anyone else here start listening to all these old, old songs simply because of the games, and actually enjoy them? That sure is some feel good music. ^_^
damn, this is best game ever. i play it again and again every year and never get bored. i played it 100 times, but i always remember then i first time finished FO2 just like it was yesterday.
Gotta love Fallout 2,a open ended RPG action game with a giant map and great gameplay, not to mention someone actually made a multiplayer mod,FOnline: 2238,which is still running strong today.
As a kid, I wanted to play FO2, however because my parents actually paid attention and cared about the USRB rating until I was 13 I had to wait, when I finally got the play 1 and 2, I couldn't help but get drawn into the story, and I loved every moment. 1 and 2 will always be Fallout in my mind, but hell, New Vegas and 3 were also very good games worth calling a part of the series.
I love this so much. I like to thin of it as an homage to those duck-and-cover films of the 1950s- a pleasant, naive, happy-go-lucky way of dealing a very unpleasant subject, devoid of any really useful advice or commentary on the horrors of nuclear warfare, and the line between oblivion and paradise. They preferred to let people live a happy lie, right up until they were presumably exterminated.
well i have to say one thing , every damn producer of games and god know what TAKE NOTES cuz THIS is an intro movie with a soul a soul so hard and god like it will take another 1000 years to fade.
I love that the Fallout 2 Enclave Armor makes an appearance in Fallout: New Vegas. I just loved that easter egg! And not to mention, it's the best armor in the game. Gotta love Fallout.
It's such a shame. I grew up with it, yet never even played a demo. I was too young to convince my parents to get it for me, and I let it pass. Years later, a friend keeps on telling me to play it, and although I enjoy it, I can't imagine what it must have felt to play it back then. It's probably the one game I wish I could go back in time to play.
Back when a Radio didn't tell you what to do or where to go, when the game didn't show you how much science/speech/locksmith you need- you just try and see what happens.Mixed seriousness with comedy without coming off as tacky. Blowing up the well for shits and giggles only to find it solves a quest.Good gaming moments
I call myself a fallout fan since fallout 3 came out, but today i started play Fallout 2, and I realized that i knew a handful of shit about what is fallout before. Now I can't get enough of it *.*
i was 11 the first time i played fallout 1 and i was 12 when i beat fallout 1 and 2.... i am now 20 almost 21 and it is still one of my all time favorite games ever played.
I couldn't agree with you more i've played them all and extremely proud of all of them all fallout 4 will be the greater then skyrim i can just feel it My favorite RPG series to date.
@TheNerfguys98 completely agree, but it would have to be a freakin series, each episode 2 hours long and just to show the depth and sheer size of any sort of fallout universe would take up an entire season just based on leaving the vault and the following weeks, and then another season of them adjusting to life, then a tragedy happens where they then are forced to travel to a separate wasteland on a mission.
For all of you people who are saying that Fallout 3 sucked. I want you to consider something. If F3 was never created, how many of the new-gen gamers, would have had any idea that the Fallout series even existed. I , myself, am a new-gen gamer, and before F3 I had no idea that these games were ever created. When I played F3 I fell in love with its universe, so much so, that I looked up and bought The Fallout Collection DVD. So what I'm saying is even if F3 disappointed you, it reveived the games
Well said there, buddy. I never really understood why this particular community clings so much to one or the other, for me appreciating Fallout didn't start when I played Fallout 3 around 2009 (On Halloween no less haha) and I've come to respect and admire the craftsmanship of the older ones to the newer ones. Ultimately I think a real fan of Fallout can look at the pros & cons and still learn to like this series for what it truly is and what it has offered to gaming as a whole.
@ziggyzap1 !SPOILER! The Vaults was opening by their dwellers. Probably only overseer was deciding when open the vault. V.13 was cerated to be opened 200 years after it was closed. It's why Ov. Jacoren banished Vault Dweller. He didn't want to people go out because of their new hero, he didn't want to rewolt get started. Enclave also decided to open V13 in good time. Of course people was leaving vaults themselves too (V15), at good, but at bad time too. For more - Fallout Bible.
Interplay was created by Brian Fargo. Interplay made Wasteland, the Fallout series, and many other games. That's like saying Warcraft wasn't original adding in the succubus character when it was in Diablo first.
I belive both Fallout 3 and New Vegas are both great games. One has what the other lacks. In 3 i felt very alone een when i had companions, while in New Vegas it seemed like it was very alive and vibrant. But both games owe alot to their Vault ancestors, Fallout and Fallout 2. Without them we wouldn't have so many memories of walking trough the wastelands just trying to survive. And any game that can make ya feel so small but so big like this series can. Is nothing short of magical. Never Change
I dedicated my entire childhood to fallout 1 & 2. And i can honestly say I was both impressed and satisfied with fallout 3 and new vegas. War never changes.
Fallout 2 is one of those things that nobody will be able to appreciate as much as those who grew up when it was cutting edge. One of the best games ever...
I played Fallout 1 & 2 after playing/completing Fallout 3, and I gotta say that 1 & 2 were fucking great, wish I played them back in the day when Diablo and Starcraft were cool.
@xSNIPERXify It takes place in the core region. Which is all of California, Southern Oregon, Western Nevada and Northern Baja Mexico. Its directly west of the Mojave Wasteland where New Vegas takes place, which is why a lot of Fallout 1 and 2 characters and factions appear in that game.
I honestly think IMO that f2 and f3 were the best. Its just so weird to see such a huge change in a single brotherhood chapter in f3, but then again, they did lose sight of what the brotherhood really was
Hah, awesome! I LOVE the old Fallouts!!! I even named my laptop after a character from this game, his name is Herbert. I talk to him whenever i get lonely, heheh. Just kiddin'... ... his name's Bob!
Man I really am addicted . It's been already several years since I've last played Fallout 2 but this movie still makes blood to circulate faster through my veins :-O
@SporeRaymanLover The Dwellers got shot because the Enclave thought that they might have weapons on them and try to trick them, or because they were bored and didn't kill anything in 2 minutes. The shot people were then classified as "Dangerous, Rebellious and Insane".
@Kenneth Mapa I'm only 14 and unfortunately was not alive to see this game's release, but I can still appreciate it and many other classic games (Zelda, Diablo, Doom, Starcraft, Baldurs Gate, etc) today. Also, Obsidian consists of previous Black Isle Studios employees, so Power Armor and Advanced Power Armor are in Fallout New Vegas as T-51d power armor and Remnant's Power Armor. I hope Bethesda releases a sequel/remake of the classic games with their gameplay.
i dont see why people hate on Fallout 3, ive gotten to play them all and i like it sure its different, but no reason to hate. they are all good i just love the fallout universe in general.
Fallout 2 was a fantastic game imagine how much better it would have been with today's technology and did anyone else notice that the instructional video was quoted in the fallout 3 game manual
The Enclave Troops met some Mild Resistance while regaining direct control of the vault. I would imagine 95% of the 1000+ people in Vault 13 would have been cowering in their rooms as power armored troops stormed in and began rounding up everyone who wasn't wearing a crappy set of bulletproof Vault Security armor
I don't think it will (or could) ever be the same. Black Isle is nothing more than a trademark. What makes the company are the minds and hands behind it.
I remember laughing so hard throughout the intro the first time I saw it because of the corny 50's protocol film adaptation until the very end. The ending surprised me and made my eyes go wide.
I've played this game ten years ago. Now, i'm older and the world changed. This intro is clever. The contrast between the commercial and the real world is amazing. It's really a criticism of extrem consumerism. They tell you that they will give you heaven (results may vary) but in reality they send you straight to hell by killing you with cold blood. Fallout 1 & 2 were great games. Better they were cultural pieces. One day they will get that recognition
@MrMisquito The GECK (Garden of Eden Creation Kit) is a machine that can rebuild civilisation in a post-apocolyptic world. Basically, it makes the land plentiful and provides food etc.
Haha, many people here that played the third part before they even knew about this one. Oh well. Fallout rocks, final fantasy, tekken and abes exodus. Favorite games of my childhood.
Fallout 2 - it's fun 'cause even though they don't show it, you'll always know that about 6-year old child died during the intro alongside her family =) Seriously though, I love this game.
@SporeRaymanLover Simple, The Vault Dwellers would Get in the Way of Any operation of Stripping the vault, also, they would test the Surviving Vault Dwellers At their Base at Mariposa with a Modified FEV Virus.
@Baynham3 Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas are all set in the west. New Vegas takes place close to the border of California and both 1 and 2 takes place partially in California.
Oh I know who the remnants are. I played about 5 hours of fallout 2, completed new vegas a number of times and all its dlcs, and I completed fallout 3 a few times, and all the dlcs for that. Definitely gotta continue on with my save game
Best game I've ever played.
this game look good but combat system is worst
@@somethingtodo8501 I prefer pretty much this one than other RPG´s like FF, Chrono, Xenogears, etc....

nah i prefer setting in fallout 3.
Why are the Fallout intros just all so goddamn amazing?!?

that is the most true statement I've ever heard
The last real Fallout game. Alas.
oh shut up about "Oh bethesda ruined fallout, its terrible my opinion actualy matters" fallout 3 and new vegas are perfectly fine, just because it isnt a fucking turn based birds eye view game...
???
New Vegas was a "Real" Fallout game.

You should know if that happened or not.
(1:08) It is Wednesday my dudes
Thank you. Wonderful nostalgia. I still play games to this day, but none have appealed to me like this. (Born in 1970...😥😉)
The Fallout saga introduced me to jazz music, now i love it.
Godbless the Enclave. Saving the true American ideals

Bah F3 is butchered lore of fallaout . NV meh . Nothing match F1 nd F2 RPG taste.
Alkan ustalar Butchered the Lore? Not that much. It went off of tactics with the whole "Brotherhood splite up and went everywhere." thing. It followed Fallout with the FEV in vault 87 (Different strand) The Enclave is kept out of the west.

Louis Armstrong's "A Kiss to Build a Dream On".
Lovely. I bought a Louis Armstrong Greatest Hits compilation because of that song. Worth it.
Despite never playing Fallout or Fallout 2 (I know, I'm a terrible person), I saw this intro and fell in love with it.
Epic, Black Isle. Simply Epic
the late 90s was defo the best era of PC gaming (and probably console for that matter as well). RIP Black Isle, Looking Glass, Troika
i like how they when back to the original story arc/style of the old games in fallout new vegas,i love getting all the refrences

the sound end of the video simply incredible
And that makes me sad... But it does not stop me from playing it, damnit! I was born too late! I missed out on all the 80's and 90's stuff.
This game was just... EPIC! I still get chills when I hear Perlman's memorable, first line...
Just want to say that Fallout 2 was the best and this always will be and has to be a drama theme.

The very best intro movie to any game, ever.
the sound at 2:42 ALWAYS gives me the goosebumps...
My love of this game drove me to love Louis Armstrong and for that FOREVER i´m greatfull.
The best intro to the best game I have ever played. Long live this fantastic franchise!
i miss this game =( so it makes me an og to remember playing this when i was like 9 years old lol damn
i dont see why people hate on Fallout 3, ive gotten to play them all and i like it sure its different, but no reason to hate. they are all good i just love the fallout universe in general.
Duty, (cough) honor... courage. ... Semper Fi... Frank Horrigan dies, especially how he says "Semper Fi" sounds very cool :)
i like the 50s styles, its like in a dark and depressing premise but with a funny setting
fallout has such a deep story behind it. ITS AWESOME!!!
Fallout 2 was a fantastic game imagine how much better it would have been with today's technology and did anyone else notice that the instructional video was quoted in the fallout 3 game manual
The Enclave Troops met some Mild Resistance while regaining direct control of the vault.

because it's target audience wasn't 12 year old kids who had to shoot everyone they see.
fallout 3 isn't an RPG like it was supposed to be.
I hate how they say war never changes.
They don't know him.
It was the test vault which was supposed to determine how people react to being murdered upon leaving the vault.
God this brings back memories, great song
The ending of the intro is pretty funny, I give you that.
One day they will get that recognition
that voice just made me sing WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD YRRREEAAAAHH!!
My favorite version of one of my favorite songs.
@MrMisquito The GECK (Garden of Eden Creation Kit) is a machine that can rebuild civilisation in a post-apocolyptic world. Basically, it makes the land plentiful and provides food etc.

Legend . . . Just a Legeng , forever and ever .
Have to hand it to Bethesda: the Fallout series sports probably the most effective intro movies as far as atmosphere goes. Pretty hard to beat...
the vault door beeping and opening makes my heart rate double every time. Epic.
Fallout 2 - it's fun 'cause even though they don't show it, you'll always know that about 6-year old child died during the intro alongside her family =)
Seriously though, I love this game.

lol i tell you people this song keeps playing and playing in my head even 10years after i finish fallout2! lol amazing game
@Baynham3 Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas are all set in the west. New Vegas takes place close to the border of California and both 1 and 2 takes place partially in California.
Ah... Pure Louis Armstrong's goodness! So many memories...
@shiznoes It's not just "a video game", this is a milestone in the history of COMPUTER (not console bullshit) games
Fallout 2 is still ma fav game of all from Fallout series

Fallout 2 is still a master piece
Those soldiers are actually from the IRS. The vault residents were behind on their taxes.
i've always loved the short music at 1:53 to 2:01 , i wish i could hear the whole thing
