Sorry you got hit, Sandy! My only piece of advice from my experience is make sure to take it very easy. Hope you guys recover soon so you can enjoy your vacation!

May the virus leave you soon! wish you could extend the vacation a few more days. Very glad to hear it’s mild (so far so good!). I didn’t realize that Enovid may help lower the viral load - had used it only for protection in a vocal ensemble. Sounds like Enovid and the recent booster have been significant. And Paxlovid for your husband makes sense. I hope rest and sun will make it a short stint for you both! Beautiful view - hope wind is less in early morning and/or diminishes in the evenings. Is this Haifa maybe? Anyway lovely. Hope you’ll be able to see people again (at least outdoors) within a couple of days. And plan to go back.
PS Had no idea you’ve had to deal with, um, negative comments. Seems endemic to the medium; sometimes the most helpful bloggers seem to be favorite targets. Know how much you’re appreciated! Best wishes.

Thank you so much for the good wishes! I am in South Netanya, which is between Haifa and Tel Aviv (closer to TA). Yes, in the clinical trials, Enovid actually performed better at reducing viral load than it did at preventing infection. Be well

First off great news you and your husband are still doing well. One thing I take away from your experience is that even if you are careful when you go on vacations you do open yourself up for infection. So it goes back to risk assessment. If your under 65 and basically in good health your risk of serious illness is very low, especially if vaccinated or have had previous infection. Even though I recommended the nasal sprays to my daughter, traveling Ireland, I have less confidence in them preventing infection, so passing that warning along. It does seem they may help after infection. BTW great idea on broth, will keep on hand.

I agree. The studies on Enovid showed it was more effective at reducing viral load than at preventing infection. Be well.

I appreciate learning your protocol pre- and during your covid infection. Things I did slightly differently during my January infection: To lessen my incessant throat clearing and slightly sore/dry throat, I slept with my upper torso elevated for nasal drainage, gave myself sinus rinses throughout the day, and ate small amounts of honey throughout the day and night. Unfortunately, I was stuck on the California coast, away from home, due to the horrendous storms that closed all roads around where I was staying, and my Enovid shipment was waiting for me at home.

Thank you! I'm doing all those things except sinus rinses. I don't have purified water..I suppose I could boil and then cool water. Did u take Paxlovid? How did you fare in the end? Thank you so much, and be well.

@@SandysDIYHealthAdvocacy It seems to me that boiled water would work. My allergist gave me this recipe to make a nasal rinse: Combine 2 parts non-iodized salt and 1 part baking soda; dissolve 1/4 tsp. into 8 oz. water. I have dysphagia, so I was unable to swallow the Paxlovid pills. The two friends who were sick at the same time and did take Paxlovid had symptoms for three fewer days. My Covid symptoms lasted 12 days, but were all upper respiratory - no lung involvement. I gave an account of my Covid illness in a comment to one of your earlier videos, I think the one when you announced you were going to loosen your Covid protocol a bit. I'm the one who was trapped in Rio del Mar near Santa Cruz during the series of devastating storms in January.

Great to see you up and about. The view is beautiful and you truly seem so relaxed. Is J and her friend staying with you, or a different unit? Not sure if I told you, but the facility my Mom is in now has residents with COVID. 😷 It appeared to start after they received a new admission. They test all of the residents and staff daily. So far so good. Continued prayers for you and your family.🕊️🕊️🕊️

I'm sorry to hear this Sandy though really thankful you're feeling as good as you are! From my perspective, we have to begin living more normally and I totally support your beginning to gather with others. I hope you both heal well and recover quickly.

There are breathing exercises that are recommend if you get COVID or any other respiratory issues for that matter. Might help you and your husband get over this more readily. If you search 'breathing exercises for COVID' several will come up.

Don't worry about LongCovid. You WONT get it.. LongCovid post Omicron is quite less compared to Post Delta infection. What's you Twitter handle? Also don't do any physical activities & rest a lot. I am sure you will recover in next 4-5 days for sure. Take care..
