This era is a core memory for me. My pops would collect comics and even had some of these in 1st edition.
I was !!!OBSESSED!!! with this event as a kid! Wolverine having a blasted off hand BLEW MY MIND!
How come Wolverine's hand didn't regenerate?
@@edpistemic Not only that, but how did Cyclops blast through his adamantium skeleton? The story was convulted and didn't explain much, but the character designs were awesome.
@@edpistemic In those timesm his regenerations powers weren't as powerful as they are now, where he can grow back his legs back if he loise them, they become like that after he was changed by Apocalypsis into 'Death' and recovered his Adamantium bones

Own this in trade and paperback. That’s how good it is. Marvel had done multiverse stories before but this and 2099 both from the mid 90s really set us on the path to get to where we are now.

Apocalypse and Mephisto had similar stories in Wolverine and the Xmen and XM97
After the Jim Lee Xmen i had to rest in collecting X title books. Then, after years, i was shocked to see the xmen in a weird status quo and also with different appearance. Damn i got so obsessed with collecting these weird x titles, knowing also that this will be a short event.
The trade paperbacks are always incomplete, and the books are never in order.
I really love this Magneto.
Great recap but I still feel that, the video doesn’t capture the impact of Colossus going back to fight and then getting scared and running away leaving his team to die while they were still fighting hoping that Shadow Cat and Colossus would come back to help them. Especially with the tough training at the beginning of the issues. That was heart wrenching back in the day.
Yeah, he went way too fast. And the music didn't help. You didn't even see them in the video. The narrator just skimmed through the death parts way too much.

I read that issue at 10 years old and it had such an impact on me. That page with the door closing is burnt into my brain
I loved AoA when it came out. The downside was that when it ended, I didn't like the following storylines nearly as much and stopped buying X-Men altogether soon after.

I had all comics so much as associated with aoa. Even cables fight to stop it leading to xaviers death. My favorite story.

I never thought there’d be an event that captured me as much as the X-Cutioners Song did…and then The Age of Apocalypse. I have every book in the series and revisit them often! Incredible story, character redesign, and artwork.

This was hands down my favorite X-Men storyline since X-Cutioner's Song! This was major for me as a kid, an alternative reality set off from Legion Quest. It was so different, dark, and gritty, and I ate this up with a spoon!

The best AoA title was Factor X, with the messed up Summers family dynamic, with the exceptional Steve Epting art.
The Astonishing Xmen, with Joe Mad art, was next best, and, Weapon X was the next best.
Nah..X Man, Astonishing X Men, and Amazing X Men.

Blink is one of the dopest characters to come out of AoA
Some of the best cover art as well. I have a large wall in my office that i covered in staggered frames of old comics. This series makes up a lot of the space. I didn't like just having them in a box in the closet.

I think it has to be skin on skin contact. I don't believe her egg and his sperm would have any issues.
Both had magnetic powers.
Together, they can match frequencies and reproduce.
Never quite 'touching' on a micro- verse scale.
I am sure Magneto can create an electro-magnetic field to allow really close contact. Not sure about the in utero action.

There was a sequel to this series. I believe it was called AFTER The Age of Apocalypse
AI channels gonna drown out the genuine HI channels.
Because the AI doesn't think it's a voice actor and try to make the voices of the characters which makes it really really cringey and hard to watch.

Am I missing something? I cant seem to find the overview of the fight between weapon x and cyclopse. This thourough but Cyclopse loses an eye without explanaition. Why is this?
Nice one. I was hoping for the after story, though. That Jean survived or was reborn and saved the country from most of the bombs and the fall out channeling the Phoenix Force, lead the X-Men for a while, and somehow lost the power. Then she attained the Death Seed and fought something... That's all I remember but it was a good read.
And then everything went to hell when Apocalypsis possesed Weapon X

This video be better if you talked a bit about how this replaced the comics that were happening and talked about legion's quest since its the actual prelude. not sure why you skipped it? seemed like a really important thing to skip... like the entire set up for the story?
Out dated?lol That was by far the coolest comic book story and it end when Magneto rips Apocalypse apart.But it was like a hyper exaggerated parody of WWII with all humans in apocalypse concentration camps.The art work especially by Adam Kurbert and Andy Kurbert were the best eve. So dope,even the dude that used an electric cran( whatever that actually is?) were sick.The new stuff is a joke,with cancel culture destroying another medium, nobody wants to read a woke comic,based not equality but fear.Or where they are obviously not at genuinely investeded but shamelessly pretending to exploit you morons for sales.
This timeline was my introduction to the X-Men and was soooo bummed when it ended but excited for the future not so much for my wallet because now I have to buy five more titles just to keep up. It was fun while it lasted but I just couldn’t afford it and quit collecting all together thankfully before the age of the WOKE destroyed everything we love¥
