    it will impress brand snobs. my ex-gf bought a V8 in 2020 and not even 2 years later she bought the v12 or whatever the model is with a dust analyzer crap and gave her V8 to her sister - mind blowing how people get sucked in to absurd marketing gimmicks

      Great point. That’s definitely a big part of the allure. Totally agree with you it’s mind blowing how absurd marketing gimmicks can get you to spend an extra $600.

    Samsung has an even worse design flaw! The Jet HEPA Exhaust Filter does not fit tightly into the motor compartment because of a stupid sponge gasket that deforms over time! The simple solution is to press it down and tape it up, but that's absurd.

    We went for a Numatic (known from the Henry vacuums). They have a portable version of that, similar to dyson, but with a bag. Much better quality, replacable batteries, the most fragible pieces are protected by rugged plastic, no trigger, clearly built to last.

    What I like about these videos is it’s nice to see people questioning the people, the giant corporations that produce these products. There’s been this weird shift from people using their brains to blindly buying things and never asking any questions.

    You are missing the point of the trigger. It's there to break so the whole thing has to be replaced, which "triggers" another sale for Dyson.

  • @Zeethesquirrel
    @Zeethesquirrel Місяць тому +2

    The dyson is objectively better than the others in controlled test environments. Not by a meaningful enough margin to justify the price.
    However, the V15 regularly goes on sale for $450 these days, so calling it a $900 vacuum is not fair.
    As someone who works in cordless power tools, those batteries are NOT cheap. Easily $100+ before margin, which is why decent stick vacuums are expensive.

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  Місяць тому +2

      @@Zeethesquirrel guess I should have shown the $975 receipt. Depends what country you’re in and where you buy it…

    • @Zeethesquirrel
      @Zeethesquirrel 10 днів тому +1

      @@TheLastHonestInfluencer yeah it’s absolutely not worth that price. I got mine under $500. Still not a great value for what it is. I don’t necessarily regret it, but I definitely probably gotten something $200ish less and it gets pretty close to the dyson.

    Really its better to own a regular old fashioned upright bag vac like a Riccar, Kenmore or Simplicity, and bonus if you get one with a hose. I have a good old fashioned shop vac with a bag for the hard to reach areas because my Simplicity doesn't have a hose. Trust me, you will be WAY happier with the quality of clean, and having the bags acts as a filter to help keep particles out of the air. I do also own a cheap dust buster that I keep in my kitchen for when I make a mess of coffee, so its great for the 5 second clean up. You are sacrificing convenience but in exchange you are keeping the dust particles down, and for someone who deeply struggles with allergies, that's worth the trade.
    Side note, this is my first video of yours, are you reviewing in your underwear lol?!? If so, more power to you man! Comfort over style, I like the attitude, regardless if they are shorts or not, I think I like it here, I'll sub! Cheers!

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  Місяць тому

      You are absolutely correct, and your advice is what people need to hear.
      Please people: Get an old style corded bag vacuum and if you want something portable get a Dustbuster. Save your money and vacuum better. If you must have a stick vac, get an inexpensive one for god sake!
      Good sir, I thank you kindly for your comment and your sub!!! They are both appreciated greatly. I did most of the review in pants, but sometimes when you’re editing in your underwear you realize you forgot an important point and you need to film it…and pants just get in the way 😅

    Great content! Btw i have a question what type of vacuum head do you recommend?

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  5 днів тому +1

      Thank you! Having tested 25 of these things now I can say with absolute confidence: all these vacuums heads work pretty much the same on hardwood and carpet. I have a plug in miele with a brushless powerless head that picked up dust and debris as well as any of the cordless stick vacuums. What I would concentrate on is battery run time (all should be at least 60 mins), suction, ease of use, weight and it should not cost more than $150.

      Love hearing that these videos help good people save money. I tested so many vacuums before ever trying the Dyson, I expected the Dyson to be so much better and the reality of how mediocre it was I burst out laughing first time I tried it. I have no idea how vacuum wars can say they things they do, maybe that’s why they don’t show their face it’s purely a commercial/sales channel in clever disguise.
      Anyways, I hope you find a great vacuum for a reasonable price now! Thanks again for your comments and kind words
