We are currently using MFW family cycle for all my children 2nd to 9th grade. I’m adding in the 101 science series and government this year. I’m looking for an economics course to add for next year. I will check out compass classroom. Thanks for sharing.
Hi! Random question but I have a 9 and 11 year old girl and I really want them to be reading their Bible more. Do you have a certain plan you chose for ur boys?
Hey this is hard because I don’t know exactly where they are at😉 But I encourage mamas to remember our kids are not going to be at our level. I know my boys did better with a visuall schedule and something to motivate them. Maybe a check off list for a month goal. So starting in proverbs is good. I can give a lot of suggestions but it is us as mamas praying they will understand what God has for them today😉 Here is a link to a devotional guide swordbooks.com/products/my-walk-with-god Start small, maybe even a schedule of the Bible stories. ❤️🙏
@ Thank you! They’re 11 and 9. Both girls! They have been in church their whole life so they’re not new to reading the Bible. Now that they’re older I would like them to read it daily. Wasn’t sure if you followed a certain schedule or what. Reading it through in a year seems too much so curious if you had a plan they followed! Do you think the link you sent me is too young for them?
@@brookbell5466 I have never used a set schedule. We have used books that were read the Bible story in devotional style with some questions at the end. In our curriculum, it had them also read through those stories in fifth grade. I that link would probably be fine for a nine-year-old and not sure if too young for the 11 year-old🤔
You are obviously a great home-school teacher, but I imagine the majority of the parents doing home-school do a disservice for their children. I have a few students that were home-schooled and they learned close to nothing at home, and were very far behind most students their age.
I can understand why you would think so given your limited experience with homeschoolers. Obviously you encountered former homeschoolers who failed to thive academically at home for whatever reason. There might have been an illnesses in the family, financial issues, unexpected move, new baby, behavior issues, learning disabilities, ect. If you knew the average homeschooler, you would have a much more accurate perspective. Just ask any tutor or coop teacher who works with homeschoolers. Look at the research. Homeschoolers outperform public schoolers every years, they do better at college & in the work force, and they display more postive social behaviors. Homeschoolers are less likely to display and engage in risky and anti social behavior when compared to their public school peers. It wouldn't be fair to judge the public school by it's worse performing students. So why judge homeschoolers that way?
@@sugarspice7768 You are awfully defensive about it...maybe a little insecure? There really aren't many kids being home-schooled and most of them have trouble socializing and making friends. Public school > home-school.
Yes, I would love to hear updates on what you all have been reading.
😉
Merry Christmas Rachel!
Thank you!! Merry Christmas to you and your family🎄
