      Hey TJ, what nice surprise. I was just logging on to check out your weekly upload when I saw that we won the tightline anchor. Must be the luck of the Irish 😊 Thanks for the shoutout of our channel as well. Love your channel, I have been checking out your videos for quite some time and have gotten a lot of great tips over the past few years. Super stoked!

    Back in 2010 I developed a trolling motor system for the Pro-Angler that is so simple and so effective that I thought others would figure it out in short order. They haven't. There is something on the Pro-Angler that makes trolling motor use so incredibly easy, without giving up your Mirage Drive or having to screw or bolt stuff all over your kayak that I cannot believe nobody else has figured it out. I sent the design to Hobie but they said they can't use innovations from non-hobie engineers/employees. I understand. But I think it's time for me to just video the system and let somebody take it from there. You can make it for about $10.

    Bixpy is 1 hell of a company. i bought a bixpy for my slayer max a year ago based upon your recommendation and it worked great. The 2nd time out i was sheepshead fishing and somehow the motor came undone and was lost in St Pete on Tampa bay. i contacted them and told them what happened and they sold me another 1 at a huge discount even though i admitted it was probably my fault.

    Bixpy needs to build that motor with spot lock now!!

    Bixpy needs to run the cable inside the shaft and have the plug in on top of the mirage drive adapter.

    My friend forgot to pull up my J1 and ran it into the bank. Self shorten. Just carefully cut the tube with a dremel and redrill the for the screw.

    I've got a 55lb thrust Newport on my tamarack with a pwm and a 54ah lithium battery. This is definitely simpler but it also cost about 2x-3x what I got. You pay for convenience.

    That's a great system. I was thinking about getting it but the battery life isn't the greatest. Can't beat the simplicity and lightweight of the entire system tho. Great video nonetheless. ✌️

      Battery life is actually awesome. I personally own a bixpy and everytime I’ve been on the water I never had the battery die on me. I’m talking 6-8 hour days with a good wind some days.

      I've had the J-1 for a year now and the battery usually lasts longer than Bixpy advertises. The J-2 battery has almost double the capacity as the former model which provides impressive range.

    What is the best way to put a trolling motor on a regular fishing kayak like my Wilderness Systems Tarpon? It's just a normal fishing kayak, not one that is like a small boat.

    Hey enjoy the videos and would love to have all the gadgets on my kayak. Do you think putting all the technology on our kayaks we lose the basic's that we started kayak fishing for? I know for tournament fishing these days you have to have all this or you will be left behind.

    • @bduals207
      @bduals207 2 роки тому +2

      I didn’t start Kayak fish for basics. I started because I could fully load my kayak in my truck. No trailer no trailer reg. A ton less maintenance, cheaper to store. Way cheaper to run. Plus my fully rugged kayak is less then 1 new outboard and they retain value pretty well. .02

    • @KayakUSA1
      @KayakUSA1  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks, I don’t think that at all. I enjoy everything on my kayak and when I’m out on the water fishing from it, it’s great having all my gadgets help me to relax more and enjoy it even more. 👍🏼

    I would be super nervous about hitting a log with that thing. Are there any backup measures to ensure your motor doesn't get damaged?

    • @devinnspencer2405
      @devinnspencer2405 2 роки тому

      Well I personally own a bixpy and the rudder actually goes up and down if you hit something. Plus the bixpy has a nose guard on it to ensure no damage will happen

    • @RivermanTV-
      @RivermanTV- 2 роки тому +1

      The motor itself has sacrificial parts that are cheap and easy to replace. I've hit a log doing 4+ mph and the motor itself was fine. The only thing that broke was part of the adapter.
