Amy Foundation Alumni and Success Stories

Amy Foundation (formerly the Amy Biehl Foundation) www.amyfoundation.co.za is a non-profit organisation working to educate and develop children and youth from challenged and vulnerable communities, keep them away from all the negative influences and turn them into emotionally well-rounded contributing global citizens who make positive life choices. We carry out After School, Youth Skills development and entrepreneurial programmes using the one-stop-shop approach - from primary and secondary schools and continuing once they have left school until they become economically active. The project supports up to 1000 children and youth in our three after school centres based in the underprivileged communities of Cape Town, namely Gugulethu and Bonteheuwel, and a centre for youth skills development and training in Sybrand Park, with youth attending from all the various townships. Our new centre opened on the 1st September in Browns Farm, Philippi. We are so excited to be back in that area again.
The after-school programmes also supplement the shortcomings of the educational system in the townships, while the youth skills programme addresses the unacceptably high unemployment levels in these challenged communities.
