I see so many comments about the word Coloured here.
I am a Coloured, male, I am proud to be Coloured, it is who we are, it is what we call ourselves proudly.
No need to take offence on our behalf lol.
Ironically it's probably the Kings and Queens of 'Inclusivity', the Yanks or UK, being incredibly ignorant about another culture and assuming that the labels they use are the same as in their countries.
people think the culture and politics in the USA apply to the rest of the world... its very stupid.
Exactly, I don't know why ppl get offended when we are called coloured ,I'm a proud cape town coloured!

The "no pap" thing has to be unique to western cape coloureds bc in the Northern Cape we all eat pap, that smoortjie would go amazingly with krummel pap😂
In Eastern Cape I know coloureds also don't eat pap, mostly rice as a staple..

I think in Northern Cape the coloured and black culture is very mixed hence I’m not surprised that coloureds eat pap. In Cape Town it is a lot more segregated so we didn’t really eat pap like that except as porridge

Totally agree
Black Africans will cheer and enjoy anything. These coloureds are very racist yet here you are saying this nosense. But then again you are from Kenya 🙄🙄
Coloureds refers to members of multiracial ethnic communities in Southern Africa who may have ancestry from more than one of the various populations inhabiting the region, including African, European, and Asian. South Africa's Coloured people are regarded as having some of the most diverse genetic background.

I suggest you all watch the video before getting worked up about the videos title. “Coloured People” (in this case) isnt being used as a derogatory term. There is no need to be offended for these PROUD beautiful Coloured South African people. Stay a while, LEARN SOMETHING!!! Its actually a really great video. ENJOY🤗🤗
Here is the recommended clip that explain that:,
ua-cam.com/video/TfaI0QL1_Ts/v-deo.html
i'm sure not a single person thought it would be a racist video. completely besides the point it's archaic racist terminology that shouldn't be okay to say. while some people may not be upset by it their grandparents and great grandparents might. was and is literally a racial slur.
@@thatdudebro Are you South African? Well I am, I am also coloured. Unlike the US where it has been used as a derogatory word, over here in SA we are proud of it, the word coloured has no foul meanings, it is who we are. Please do not assume it is racist here, and most definitely, do not assume you can cancel our culture!
@@thatdudebro are you even a person of color and from where are you from? Asking because as a person of color, I don't see how it's offensive. America we say people of color, which isn't offensive at all. Here they say colored, which is the same only they're speaking of a *specific* tribe, region, or community. Just like one can be Black but not an African American. Instead of saying they're Black (or African American), they say they're Jamaican.
@@thatdudebro The point is that it is not a racial slur in South Africa, so South African grandparents and great-grandparents would not be offended now would they?. It is what that group of people call themselves, the world doesn't revolve around the USA and their terminology. That being said - even 25 years ago in the USA if you called someone who is black a 'Person of Colour', that would have been offensive, now for some reason it is not. Goalposts get moved all the time. Stop getting offended on other peoples behalf, especially when they are not offended themselves.
As a South African, I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Thank you for engaging with and portraying South African culture so beautifully.
Really really pi**es me off, people complain over the smallest thing so videos get removed or the youtube PATHETIC algorithm keeps removing videos. Whatever the case is, sunny is an amazing presenter and his shows aren't just about the food, but also the culture etc absolutely fantastic. He definitely should have his own tv show on prime time viewing
"I actually like it" is one of the most south African sayings I know, up there with ja nee and now now (to name a few)😂😂

That last lady is an inspiration, she is what Africa needs most.
I grew up in Cape Town.. And seeing this.. This shows 1% of why the Western Cape is beautiful. Amazing landscapes, incredible food, and the most individual, beautiful human beings you can imagine. ❤
It's amazing how AFRICA, and South Africa especially are shown as downtrodden and "3rd world" here in the states. Then you pull up videos like this in their 6 part series and see the beauty of the areas. Even in this video, look how vibrant and bustling the area is. The beautiful beaches and how this whole area is nestled in the hills and the city is exciting and the size of the homes. Seriously, that house she's in would go for 400-600k here in NC, 2 million in NY and maybe 4 million in CA. It's crazy. Kudos to the team on yet another stellar show and congrats on the 10million subscribers. WOW.

3:20 as a coloured, lemme just course correct here. what makes the coloured race stand apart, is that we have our own struggles and challenges that are unique to us, and it has influenced our distinct culture, as with every other race in southern africa. now no race is a monolith, but i would say they can be grouped.
black southern africans eat more than just pap. their culture and cuisine is distinct and unique
As a Māori from Aotearoa NZ we love our Kaimoana/Seafood too 🤤
As a Coloured South African, second generation biracial Bruin ou, and born again , serving the living God, I've come to see people as God sees us. Culture is a word I've never related to. We're people living in a fallen world and going to the grave eventually. What counts is do we believe we're eternal beings en route to our eternal "dwelling". It behoves us to prepare for our trip to eternal life and its found only in Jesus Christ... the Door to Heaven. Know Christ, know eternal life. No Christ, no eternal life. Eternal destruction is no place to go to in ignorance. JESUS SAVES FROM THE UTTERMOST TO THE GUTTERMOST (Thanks to the late Evangelist to Africa among other places...Reinhard Bonnke) excuse spelling.

Coloured is more of an ethic group than a legitimate race because not all coloureds are mixed & not all coloureds share the same genetic background/ancestry. Some have white blood while others don't. Some have black, while some don't. Some have Malaysian or Indian while others don't. Then there are some who are full blooded indigenous Khoi & San who had their true identity wiped out when the term coloured was imposed on them by the apartheid government. Other are Xhosas that changed their race from black to coloured during apartheid because they wanted better rights & economic opportunities.
The woman at the end is so funny and genuinely nice, please show us more of her 🇧🇩🇬🇧👍👌🙏🤗🍺🍺

Yes, they worked at a bible seminary that took international students, but still.
South Africans. We are a mix raced people, but not like a mixed race people in America, because coloured people have seperate cultures and communities distinct from white or black people, because of people from different races and places forming communities, due to slavery of African, Indonesian and Indian and due tocolonialism. Also many native southern African's, Khoisan peoples look similiar to other coloured people than to other black people and are also refered ro as coloured

Snook is my favorite fish here in Florida, I know it must be a different speicies, our snook is also known a as soap fish, if the skin is left on, all the meat of the fish tastes like soap. Fillet Snook is the best ever, I like it grilled.
Props to the editing team. They did a splendid job for this episode.
