I love the energy between these two, it seemed super genuine. Please go to Korea together and record everything!
I second that! and if possible, I hundred that! Their personalities seem different, but you can feel there’s a mutual respect and synergy between them.
@@hannahlee152 I totally agree. And what's more, Susan Kim's personality seemed unlike other cooking personalities I watch. I genuinely am interested in seeing more!
Humble sincere Andy is my favorite. You can really feel his passion for cooking and learning.
This should be called Andy's Adventures. It works so well. And adventure is like explore already.
Good idea!
I miss the part where Andy would go to the BA test kitchen and recreate it for everyone!
Too bad everyone is not there anymore.
I don't think they can afford that space anymore
@@kukusenka oh yeah, wait, is it gone now?
@@Hexadolf well, we haven't seen the set in almost a year, and I don't think they would still be renting it if they don't use it
If you don't know what I'm talking about, there was a scandal with Bon Appetite and several people left Bon Appetite as a result so no more of Claire Saffitz suffering or struggling to remake common food items and other chefs who left.
I haven't watched a bon appetit in ages, but I'll come back for this series. Heck ye
this has quickly become my fav
Yup. The Left worked their magic, and left a mess, as usual. Lol
@@jamescollier3 yes it's truly outrageous that employees with equivalent experience and skill expected to be paid the same without factoring in the color of their skin.
@@jamescollier3 someones upset. are you hungry? need a diaper change? what?
@@lean4real_11 how 100% of every leftie argument ends: with an insult, as leftie policies don't end with great stats or facts to rebut with, just insults
Susan is so chill it's unreal
I want to be her friend
? shes just a normal person? do you break into tears every 40 mins?
@@lean4real_11 Why so salty though? Did your nap time get interrupted, kiddo?
This series pre-dates the pandemic and the BA blow up and it was doing some important things that have now become relevant - highlighting local restaurants run by chefs of color. So good for Andy for doing it before it was cool.
Props to the host for pronouncing the Korean dish correctly.
I think he speaks korean
If he didn’t I’m sure you’d be tweeting bon appetit demanding he lose his job
@@dstein111 what bro?

Chef Ma Minghai is so sweet, adorable, and highly skilled! His food looks delicious I wish I could have some 😄💓
As far as ice cubes in cuisine, growing up with an Italian background, summer is not complete without a tomato salad with ice cubes. Tomatoes, garlic, fresh basil, a good olive oil and frozen water. Dash of dried oregano and you have my favorite dish of all time.
ok i was wondering about the ice cubes... but im going totally to try that
Ugh I love seening non Koreans truly enjoying authentic Korean food. Also, I don't know if it's been mentioned, but BCD Tofu is open 24 hours!!! Amazing hangover AND drunk food.
Andy's korean is so cute haha
I live in baltimore and I'm pretty grateful for our large korean population and many, many great korean resturants.
Honey Pig!
@@whiskeyandsarcasm I actually haven't been too honey pig though I've heard good things- there's a little cluster of korean places in station north around north ave and charles- people really like Jong kak for the bbq, nam kang for the atmosphere, and I haven't been yet but a korean lady who owns a dive bar said beone is her personal fav. I don't think I saw Tteokboki on any of their menus tho!
Lucky I’m Korean I live in the US but it’s takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to the nearest Korean restaurant
Can Susan please have her own segment on BA!! I'm fully invested in whatever comes out of her mouth!!!!
Yesss
She might be the least expressive person that I've ever seen
@@fraserbrown123 that's weird, she gave us hella facts about dishes, sooooo much info. You can tell she truly loves food when she just speaks about it. I think you might just bitter about my comment 🥱 127 people agree with me 💓 Maybe you should listen to her and andys convo again!! (with a different head space 🤗) you might find something ✨useful✨ like the rest of us did!!
I like how he didn’t really learn how to make anything lol, he just put stuff together the chef had already prepared
Wholesome Andy. Love to see it
Susan is great! Would like to see more of her
There is nothing better than having a hot bowl of Korean soup and free kimchi after a day hiking in the South Korean Winter.
There's nothing like food after a day in North Korea.
Yay Andy!!!!!!! I missed this series.
I love Andy soooo much! I really want you to record your trip to Korea!! You two are a pleasure to watch
This is such an informative series, and I have watched all of them, including the Chinese cooking, Indian, Thai, Middle Eastern, and now Korean. One thing that we didn't get in this video was a discussion of the specific spices used in the cooking. This was a feature of the previous videos. Every ethnic cuisine exists somewhere in the five boroughs, so I hope there are going to be many more of these episodes.
korean cooking actually doesn't use a huge array of spices. (mine don't anyways) a lot of gochugaru and gochujang, seasame oil, soy sauce, garlic, etc.
Middle eastern cuisine is not one single one..very different food and way of cooking. It's like saying east asian or european cuisine.
aw this chef is adorbable
This video prompted me to get my lunch at the same BCD location and I have to say, it was even more satisfying than I thought it was going to be!
I´ll always come back here for more Andy!
The Left cancelled everyone else lol
Definitely love this series, and loved Susan
Thanks, Andy! Looking forward to more Korean food!
Happy to see Andy again!
I love every single aspect on this video ; the people, the dishes, the atmosphere & sounds etc
Also, should mention about the editing. Editing & sound engineering of this video surely are amazing ; D
I missed Andy the fancy Persian cat!
Me too. But there's a lot of chemistry in this video as well, great job.
I just love Andys videos.
Adorable vibes 💖💖💖
Bone broths are always very satisfying to the body. I make my own all the time, combining different bones sometimes. When you eat good, whole food the body is satisfied and does not go looking for junk to eat.
bone broth is the best!
I love this series!!!!! Glad its back!!!
"You develop an unfortunate bias of not embracing other textures." Is perhaps the most American description to literally anything American.
I wouldn't say so much an American habit as the habit of any culture. People around the world tend to stick with what they have grown up with.
@@nanoflower1 You wouldn't, but then I dont care what you would do.
@@afekasi79 cultural bias isnt just an american thing....
Ahhhh thank God got an andy video💜

Edit: would appreciate a series of Susan and Andy.
Two if my favorite things: Andy and BCD Tofu House
Thank you so much. your video helps me!!
Miss the old crew. They had such good chemistry..
That's what The Left leaves behind. They destroy everything
Fuckem
@@ItsYaBoySkinnyPenis69420 yeah , it’s so unreasonable that she wanted to be paid fairly.
@@redrider917 they were paid commensurate with # of views. Feel free to look yourself. Then The Left did it's thing, and, of course destroyed a great thing. They destroy everything
@Peter Piper They paid coloured employees and female employees less than white people/males. This caused a huge backlash
Missed this series
finally KOREAN food for the Andy Learns series !! I have been waiting for AGES
It’s the sound fx when they’re flipping the pajeon for me 😂
ANDYYY!!
I love making scallion pancakes. We had a 26 year old Korean man live with our family for a year. He taught our family so much about Korean culture and food
They came in at 1 am! Sun came out at the end!😳 And i thought the french love long dinners!
Oh my god I need some Korean food. Now!
You always need a beer with this amazingness
All Andy’s fav dishes involve sweating in kitchen or sweating when eating 😅😝
Très belle recette gourmande !, on adore !!!🥰🌿👍
I enjoy the Korean food.
Yeah! It's about time ;)
BCD TOFU is an awesome place to get their version of korean food. Korean food is different in each family.
I love how He cook s nice
Paused to appreciate Andy’s perfect pronunciation of 순두부 찌개 [Soondubu Jjigae] in the beginning of this video!
CAL BEE
i've been to BCD a number of times, watch a bunch of korean cooking videos, and literally never knew their base was oxtail broth... i thought it was a seafood based this whole time!
soondubu jjigae is my favorite soup of all time.
tteokbokki were my go to street food snack when i still lived in seoul!
they way andy made his pajeon and how it looks in the end this would be an awesome way to make some pupusas!
Great video
Great food

Lol! @7:07 the chef must've thought Andy was or spoke Spanish. He's like "pokito!"
Sólo llegué a este video porque estoy enamorado de Andy jajaja 😭😘😂😂😂
@10:58 dolsots are made of stone like the one in the back. The soups came in a ttukbaegi which is ceramic.
