You're awesome.
Hey this is a really awesome thing to do! Glad to see such an incredible content creator being a wonderful ally and human being in society as well! ❤️ Definitely going to donate something
5th mansion for the CEO here we go!!
I'll never get tired of the intros to this series
ayo wuddup
is the next one about sound fx lol
Oh My God I love Rocket League! I'm no good at it mind you haha. Still, never took much notice of the audio before. Thanks for doing those interviews and making this video Marshall!
I’m trash and I have 300 hours logged lmao
i love these videos! sound design is so interesting andi enjoy these breakdowns of popular sound designs so much. I found you thorugh the video about league of legends. Did you think about a video about the sound design of DOTA 2? it may be biased since i love dota but IMO dota has such a great sound design and the sound gives you so much information about whats going on. maybe you think about it :) no matter what you do in the next video, im sure it will be awesome!
I recently bought the game and controller because I always wanted to play it and only now I got the chance to, cool thing is seeing a video from your side. Its like my love for sound/music and gaming came together, thanks for your videos!
holy crap man, each video just gets better. I can already tell ima learn hella stuff from these.
I went back and listened to the intro after you revealed the scream layering you did at the end and wow, if that wasn't possibly the coolest way to prove your point idk what is
This stuff is fascinating and makes me want to try sound design even though I have no intent to what so ever. Keep up the good work man.
Marshall!!! Man, you absolutely kill it. Great video. Thanks!
The guy in the red t-shirt looks like a crossover between Hugo Weaving and Andy from A+Start
Some of my favorite games are tabletop games, which sucks because I don't get rad music, animations, and of course sound design to gush over. Regardless, these things are all amazing and I have plenty of other places to look for them in. Thanks for doing cool stuff, and have a nice day! :)
At 0:14 are the screams he refers to (At 8:28). I think there are only two. When "EP." and "26?" come in.
dude, you should think about your own magazine too! it's awesome to have an interview with the audio head and sound designers of a big company like them! if you manage to have a website (magazine) you can post there too and have your own brand of sound design magazine! maybe in the future, you'll become the GameSpot of sound design.
*I've been slowly dying inside waiting to see a video about the sound design in rocket league. Thanks, take this sub*
I would love some tips for energy/electricity sound design. It's interesting to see different approaches for something that can be so abstract
5 months later... But try the sound duck tape makes when you take it off
@@ZHibiki Not a bad idea
Sweet, thanks for making this!
Best 10 min in UA-cam 👊🏼
Awesome video, that Javi guy seems to suck at RL though
I really want to thank you for these videos. they have helped me to do designs that fools my friends to believe its just normal gameplay footage.
i want to throw out this question to you and the community. i am currently studying 3D art but i have noticed that i rather do sound design on my spare time than honing my 3D art skills. if i where to abandon 3D where i am sure to find a job for sound. is there work to go around in the Industry?
sorry for the wall of text xD have a great day and stay safe!
You covered a lot of sound design topics about "unnatural" sounds like sci-fi and so on. Can you make a video on how to make more natural sounds like for example ambiences or footsteps?
How am I so late to this channel? Amazing work!
3D + competitive games are the hardest to design IMO
Shout out to Miles' Arctis Pro. Love that headset.
I just got into watching rocket league related videos on youtube, like three weeks ago. Are you spying on me?
Hey man I love ur videos and I was wondering how can I start getting into sound design? Is there a certain program u would recommend for a person with 0 experience?
I second this
If you have creative cloud use Audition it’s very powerful and you can batch process files with custom presets (favorites) but if you aren’t enslaved to Adobe just get Audacity. There are infinite tutorials online for how to do things and it’s free. The most important thing is to finish a sound. Best way to do this is to take a short clip from a game, mute it, and then recreate all the sound effects within the clip
For DAW, I’d recommend Reaper. It is basically free to use and a lot more usable than Audacity IMO. To get into sound design for games, I’d recommend going to a game jam!
Love this channel just purged my subs and I couldn’t get rid of you. Also the skelly t shirt is awesome I had to cop.
Hey Marshall, I didn't forget about the Waveform's t-shirts !
There's no possibilites to get some anymore ? :(
All my interests coming together. That's insane.
No one competitive plays with Ambient sounds though. They are super intrusive to the sound scape.
i turned off the crowd sounds and i thought the screams in the intro were from the game LOL
I had a feeling there was something different about the intro this time...
Great Episode as always we've been missing you! Have you had a chance to play Valorant yet? I think they nailed the sound design for that game and I'm interested in what you think.
I pick Zork! I have a feeling I won't have much homework...
Here's an idea, Could you do a video studying the earth bending noises from avatar?
Maybe that's not exactly your thing, but I've always thought they were kinda weird, but strangely satisfying... In a completely good way, and I'm not sure why, just a thought...
My list will be very long if I'm playing Escape from Tarkov
It is really awesome of you to use your platform to promote that BLM charity list. Your content is always super interesting, and cleanly produced. Thanks for all your hard work.
Bam will do
I'm your big fans
Hey man as always great video and content really enjoy watching them and always learn something or consolidate what i know with ur tutorials :) was wondering if you have a discord channel or if u use it?
Nice, i'm the thousandth liker of this video 🙌
Could you do a vid on the sounds of the league of legends client? Not the game itself, but all the menu buttons, locking in, etc. It's so satisfying, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone talk about it.
The sound design of rocket league is such a great example of player information through sound. Back when I started playing, my cousin played 1 v 2 vs a friend and me blindfolded and only using the sound for cues.
However, all the cars having a single gear sound bothers me to no end haha.
I heard the screams in the intro but i thought it was just the crowd chants because i turned them off in rocket league LOL
Man, I guess I’m playing the game wrong. I have played since release and I’ve gone to listening to the game, to not even wearing headphones while playing, usually listening to music, or UA-cam videos while playing.
I just thought the screaming in the intro was for the audience in rocket league, it felt appropriate
When you compared the 2 versions you forgot to turn off crowd volume, its an important part of higher end gameplay
Hey Marshall I just sent you an email!
This may sound weird, but Rocket League is the one and only game I prefer playing with the sound off. I have no idea why this is. It’s also easily my favourite game of all time.
I'd really recommend making another thumbnail. It's barely effective, you read over it because the rocket league logo is so big. If you'd swap sizes, your views will skyrocket compared to now, just some aevice.
Marshall I love your videos but the first half of the video was just way too long. The second half was super interesting, but tbh cutting the slack wouldve helped the video a lot
