Yes the Carpet Tiles is the best idea for Aquarium Stores! 14:05 My first ever job was at an Aquarium in QLD Australia, we had the same problem with the carpet getting torn up by foot traffic in certain corners, the tiled carpet came into existence unintentionally from cutting out and replacing pieces of the floor over 2 years 😂 Until we ripped it all up to install actual tiled carpet floors haha
Love it when dean gets on the channel, special treat for sure Thankyou aquarium co op and dean and everyone who was In the video for another great unboxing!
Can’t wait to see the final store expansion, it sounds insanely awesome. Might have to take a trip to it all the way from south California. Always love seeing dean and the great ideas he shares and beautiful plecos he breeds. I’m tempted to do that double sponge filter with a power head for my 40G with my two hatchlings turtles and some fish.
I was just there this past December, I took a 36 hour train ride to Washington from California to the store and it was worth it completely. The staff is so polite and beyond helpful, Murphy is even cuter in person if that’s possible lol! I’m definitely coming again after the expansion is completed!
Always cool seeing Dean bring fish to the co-op for sale. Very awesome seeing the in progress of the retail space remodel!!! Hoping you do more of the in-progress videos of that process.
I got the reference, Dean : "Water, water, everywhere And all the boards did shrink Water, water, everywhere Nor any drop to drink" Glad you didn't lose fish!
I actually bought 4 of the smaller sponge filters for some of my smaller tanks from Aquarium Co-op, I might place an order for some larger ones in the future for future tanks I have planned. absolutely love how hassle free they are. Sponge filters are great for easily establishing beneficial bacteria for your tanks. They are able to be hidden, not only do they keep the tanks clean but since they use air flow to suck water through the sponge they help replace air stones by providing oxygen into the tank as well. All if my Koi Angel's are happy fish in my 55gal tank. My yellow labs (electric yellow ciclid) are bright and vibrant and happy as well. Plus my shrimp love hanging out on the spunge filters.
i sure wish I could get some of Dean's Red Koi Angelfish! Beautiful! I recently picked up several Turkana Jewel. I have them in my Mbuna tank and they seem to be doing well. They don't seem to be showing any aggression. I really like their orange color with the bright blue stripe on their fins.
Have been keeping up with you since the beginning . Congratulations on your success you have come a long ways since just working in a pet store. Hope it is still fun and not just a job. Having a good core of friend to work with does hurt also.

Nice. Jimmy/Dean, for the record, the “Candy Striped” Pleco is the L015, Pekoltia Vittata, not the L397. The L397 common hobby names are usually Red Tiger, Red Stripe, or Alenquer Tiger. Regarding the L134, those that come from the Rio Tapajos will have more consistent thicker solid banding, however the pattern will almost always break up and get more interesting as adults. L134 coming from the Rio Jamanxim collection area will have thinner and a significantly more broken (or spotted) pattern than those from the Rio Tapajos. Because the collection area and population of the Tapajos is much larger, nearly all the L134 in the hobby are Tapajos. L134 from the Rio Jamanxim are still quite rare in the hobby.
I bought them from cataclysm, from the guy who collected them and bred them. He also gave a talk and showed the habitat he collected them from. I don’t remember all the details except all the catfish nerds agreed they were they were the L397.
@@AquariumCoop I was gonna comment the same thing. They do look L397 but the common name for L397 is not "Candy Striped Pleco", but Red Tiger or Alenquer Tiger.
Those sponge filters are great, love how modular they are. I'm not sure how easy it would be to manufacture but it'd be great if they came with a longer green pipe that the final end user could cut to length, an optional elbow piece would be awesome as well. I always end up putting my own pvc pipe and an elbow to direct flow whenever I get a sponge filter, would be great to have it ready to go! Not that I could get hold of it over here in Britain anyway! Also, Joel's carpentery skills are pretty impressive but when are you going to commission him for some artwork, dude's a master! Can anyone else remember those painted backgrounds on the giant shrimp tanks he did?
Lamont was another insane artist. I wish he was still there. It seems like I remember he was the one who designed the first Hank shirt for Aquarium Coop.
I love breeding my exotics. I myself am looking into breeding tarantulas but they tend to have large broods and a small market, some fish are the same. Its actually very surprising how much the terrestrial invert and freshwater fish hobbies have in common. Both have thousands of unique and colorful species and I'm glad to be a part of both communities.
Looks like the same way Seascape Aquarium in Sarasota Florida progressed throughout the years... They opened in 1979 and now have 5 or 6 units in a strip mall... Except you walk over a bridge over one of their 2 huge koy ponds to enter the store...
Plecos and many other fish such as guppies LOVE raw, de-skinned, thawed frozen peas. I buy the unsalted ones. I feed just what they will eat in a day so the water won't get cloudy. Filtration is best to have in the water. So good for snails too. Also, raw spinach leaves help snails leave the plants alone. USA

Hello! Great video 😁 I have several Red Turkana Jewels. I find that they are beautiful and very prolific. They can be aggressive but mainly when they have fry.
