    [Legend of Kyrandia]
Kyrandia is a land of dark, mysterious forests, and sleeping dragons. A fantastic land where rubies grow on trees and magic abounds. Who would imagine that a land so idyllic would spawn a murderer so demented? Some say that the court jester, Malcolm, was mad to being with. Others whisper in sly, conspiratorial tones that is was his burning desire to possess the precious Kyragem that slowly drove him to slay the peaceful King William.
As the rightful prince of Kyrandia, you must pursue the elusive Malcolm to recover the powerful gemstone. Only then will you be able to reclaim the throne and restore harmony to the land of Kyrandia. The Legend of Kyrandia awaits you!

Loved this! I'm so happy to see other people loving this series.
And some of those songs in this game are bangers. I've been listening to them for like 20 years now.

For those who are Command & Conquer fans like me, you may have recognized Brandon's voice actor and the role he would become famous for later on.

I'm excited to hear you'll be continuing this series! The third one is my personal favorite, but they're all such wonderfully cheesetacular messes in their own endearingly weird and dumb way.

Had this game when I was a kid, but was too young and impatient to finish it! Fun to see the rest. The art is surprisingly good!

    Hi Hannah,
Well done. Don't worry you didn't miss anything, most of the items in the castle are indeed 'red herrings'. The emerald can be used to make yellow potion (even though they're green) but you can just substitute for a topaz so finding the emerald cave is not at all necesarry. The rainbowstone turned into unicorn statue was apparently supposed to be part of the puzzle which got scratched (maybe some of the items in the castle too), in fact in the older version of the game which I played nothing even happens when you use the rainbowstone on the rainbow and statue is just found in one of the rooms in the castle. Anyway I've never actually played the sequels, I've seen playthroughs of both but they just seemed a little too silly compared to the first one. First one is definitely best in my opinion but I will watch again if you play them. Oooooor maybe you had enough of fairy tales and are ready for something a bit darker - how about a nice murder mystery in a castle in rainy England? Black Mirror I (2003)? Mmm?

Ok, the statue and the emeralds were my biggest gripe, so glad to hear there's some explanation for both. I'm perfectly fine with the other castle items being red herrings. Also excited to see how this series can get "too silly".
And good recommendation! I'll add it to the list for a possible Halloween-time playthrough!

A bidget is either a combination of a couple of words that I hope you wouldn't think of yourself as, or an imaginary gnat-like creature that buzzes around your head while you are playing old pc adventure games and distracts your brain from the puzzles!

      I'll accept that definition!
But yeah....c'mon brain....why do you gotta make up bad words lol

RE the blue magic: every good walkthrough I've seen calls it "Dispel Magic". Its initial animation and uses tell you NOTHING about that!
(RE royal vestments puzzle: unclued, but actually has its internal logic -- when the king sits there, the crown is in the center, scepter in right hand, chalice in left... not that this isn't sufficiently obscure that trial-and-error gets there faster)
