Jess, I am a physician and work with patients who have come to me with a "spectrum" diagnosis, one thing I can tell you is that without exception they all have done better when we work them out of a diagnosis/label. From what I have witnessed in watching you guys for the past few years is that you are just a little more introverted especially when you contrast to Jim who is super outgoing and extremely animated. I implore you to not take on the burden of a label and just be your authentic self. Sending positive energy to you both from Southern Colorado 💫
Absolutely. I find too often (councillor) that the "diagnosis", based on a DSM checklist (unscientific, unspiritual) is taken to heart by neurodivergent people (mainly youth). I work on the basis of strengths, building on talents, abilities and strengths. Nutrition is important. Reduced intake of sugars and stimulants, offer boosting with supplements and exercise. I myself have suffered at the hands of quacks with prescribed meds ruining a decade of my life. Don't be squished into a box/mould. The real you is awesome in a unique way 🥰😎 Loads of love from 🌍🇿🇦🌄
@@jasonlightfoot4145 That is right... You are who you are... which is unique as every snow flake that hits the ground. Just enjoy everyday and have some fun being with your life partner and being creative.
Jess , you are great. Not everyone is a social butterfly. My mom is an introvert. You are much like her, she is my best friend. Don't let labels set to deep. We are individuals, my son is autistic, he lives in a group home. You do not have the same issues, you are smart, you have goals and you are in no way obvious. My son is smart, and no goals, but can not function in everyday life. You think ahead and do what is right. Fibromyalgia has the appearance of mental issues, because we get robbed of our thinking process, by fatigue. I take selenium, and other vitamins and herbs to keep my brain going. Sending love and care. Autism is a wide range. Who cares, it doesn't matter.💖💖💖💖
I like three coats of oil paint for my long term wood preservation. Roof coatings are much like latex paint in that it doesn't let wood breathe or penetrate into the wood. I live in the PNW so my issues with wood preservation have more to do wet conditions. I don't know too much about living the desert life! Anything is always better than nothing at all...
I get the whole "why wait until new years to make a change" idea, but there is a perfectly sensible reason to make new years resolutions. Specifically, the end of the year is a great time to pause and reflect, and you gain some insights in that process.
Jess you had me going with that thumbnail holding the cottage cheese container. Good one. Congratulations on your progress, that was a lot of hard work!
Thanks for taking time to teach. Also, I value your break to take Uvi for walks and letting me watch your hands on doctoring /caring for your chickens… chickens…your knowledge The research of information for your whole site…I just can’t thankyou enough ….i’m a person who in the 50’s saw the potential of the very types of structures -the how to-do’s …it has interested me to join your journey…because of the very goals you set The self knowledge you’ve gained …from trials and the mental strength you’ve gained really touches my ♥️ heart
Wow! You saved the best for last. So nice to go down memory lane with you two and realize we were there with you. I had forgotten all about the root cellar disaster. Losing Crew was hard to see again. Looking forward to another year with you two.
It's been such a pleasure getting to know the two of you and getting to tag along on your journey has definitely become something I look forward to each and every week. I love your positive attitudes in spite of the ginormous tasks that must seem never-ending. I know the year ahead will be filled with lots more hard work and loads of accomplishments on your home. Wishing you good health and happiness in the New Year and beyond ❤
Ahhh... 2025! I remember stumbling upon the Green Dream Project back when you were around 20K subscribers! Now look at you, pushing 100K! You both are real troopers! All the best to you in the New Year!
Hey Jess and Jim I wish you the very best for a happy, healthy and prosperous new year. I’m with you on the fitness, Jim. When I worked as a nurse I advised people to do whatever it takes to keep moving as we all take for granted that we can continue to go on doing whatever it takes we do. In fact you do a lot better when fit and the things you do seem easier to do as compared to long term doing little for extra physical activity. Looking forward to your updates every week. Take care.
Have you seen where people pump water through a hose, that has been spiralled inside a compost bin, in order to heat the greenhouse. Compost bins get very hot.
I saw the thumbnail and thought: 'I don't think cottage cheese is gonna do it!' 😄 With a greenhouse for half of your home, in the desert, you're really gonna need that geothermal cooling! 🥵
My porch shed. I put up hanger, and made shelve for thing to hang up > LIKE AX, MAULS, And SLEDGE HAMMERS AND THINGS. Shelve to set things on. This even gave me more space in the 5x8 shed. It got electric to with led lights and surge protector with a off and on switch. with Muli, Plug ends > Its now fully done
I feel like once you got that fire lit under you to fix the root cellar, your progress has been astonishing. Not to say the things you accomplished in the meantime weren't important or weren't progress, but you've been knocking out huge, very visible tasks one after the other. I know a lot goes into taking a house from a shell to a completed home, but it makes me feel like you've got a real shot at moving in this year!
Just FYI, Henry's elastomeric roof coating is not recommended for use on wood, per the label on the can. It will probably work OK, but definitely no warranty.
Congratulations on the new routine! I'm sure you may know but be very focused on form when lifting weights, don't lift too much, make sure to get your rest and good nutrition. Pulling a muscle will set back the house build. Stretch drink a lot of water and get good sleep. ❤
🙏Jess and Jim, my prayers for you both for 2025, are simple, I🙏 pray you have time to finish you house, 🙏I pray money/supplies are never a worry and I 🙏pray that you both stay safe and healthy 🙏. I agree with others in this chat, labels are not what they should be, and a label could come back and bite you, so please, just let go and let God🙏, He will NEVER let you down 🙏. Happy New Year, my only resolution is to get to my property, and see if I am still young enough (I'm 60) to start my homestead, IV been saving items for years, to make this happen, and health issues of my husband have kept me from discovering what I can do........ Love your videos, and ideas, keep them coming.......
Sorry for the loss of your puppy he was such a happy dog 😞, Wishing you guy's a much happier new year in 2025 , Hope all goes well with your tests 🙏, Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year !!
what a productive year!! great job jess and jim, thanks for sharing your journey with all of us! happy new year- looking forward to seeing what happens next 🎉❤❤❤
To protect the wood from termites and fungus the best thing would be to treated with Tim-Bor a boric acid made to dissolve water to be sprayed on wood. It soaks into wood. Then paint the wood to keep water from adsorbing into the wood.
New Moon is tomorrow. New Moon ='s new beginnings, the opportune time to synchronize with the celestial clock. Have a great year folks, and remember - no matter what lands on you plate - it's a blessing in the form of opportunity to improve.
It's been a warm winter so far! I'm amazed at how warm our passive solar house has been so far this winter! Previous winters we wanted all of the heat we could get, but this year we are keeping some of the curtains closed and opening windows. It's cooler outside than inside, so by opening windows it's pretty easy to keep it from getting too hot. Our roof overhang keeps the sun from hitting our house in the summer, but even in the winter, the sun is an impressive heater! Curious to see what you do to keep it from getting too hot in the green house during the summer. Enjoy your channel! Wishing you a wonderful new year! 😊🧡🏜️
Thanks for revisiting 2024. You house has come a long way. I miss Crew as well he was part of your life when I first discovered your channel. Hope you all had a wonderful Xmas and please ring in the New Year safely
Another awesome video ! You guy's do such a great job in your creative building 👍, So much work but when you have more time than money you use what you have :))
Happy new year.🎉. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I learned much from watching. You have inspired me to start a flexibly routine to my day. I tend to work and neglect my fitness.
Burlier, stouter, sturdier, more stronger than enough. Hurricane strapping, lateral stabilization, reinforcements to protect the pole barn / greenhouse from microbursts wind shears and whatever ferocious extreme weather events.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
absolutely! when doing lots of physical things one needs to make sure that their body has balanced exercise. Nothing worse than having super strong muscles on one area of the body and then those muscles pull you out of shape and cause pain. Grats to both of you--so much work, so much done
hi Paul from the UK dont worry about being autistic you are doing great it just means you think more into things before you reply and as for skills you are perfect and your going to shine very soon
I'm curious how durable the elastomeric will be in the greenhouse on wood. I do roof coating. I prefer an acrylic roof coating over elastomeric. Much tougher in the hot Arizona sun. I have never really applied either to wood though.
Nice exercise weight set. I have the same or similar one hand set. When I was in my 20s, now 50+ years ago, I could lift 50# cartons of nails. I had lost that ability for decades. Now I have it back. You made a good choice.
What was used as a moisture barrier between the ground and the mudsill? End grain absorbs moisture the quickest. Was anything used to seal the end grain?
You guys are amazing! So much you have accomplished. I miss Crew also. Good luck on the diagnosis I'm sure all will be good. Love you guys take care. Happy new year.
Happy New Year guys! Another year tu git a lot done. Hope your progress continues in a timely manner, barring weather, and other unforseen issues. Thanks for the vidios!😊
Happy new year! 🎉 Relatevely new so appreciate the recap! Its cool to see how things develop over a year! Sometimes figuring these things out is a big help to connecting with others with a similar experience! Looking forward to seeing what the new year brings! 🌿

Suggestion, a roller may be a bit faster painting that elastomer paint. 2” and 4”

Have you seen the vents for greenhouses that use beeswax to open and close automatically? That's a really interesting device.

nice layering your clothes , so much better than that sweater. you guys are doing such a good job , im vary impressed .

Thanks for the year in review post. You two have made tremendous progress. Looking forward to the next year of work

You have accomplished so much in a year! I am excited to see what you are able to do in the coming year!

Great work y'all! Happy new year!
According to Home Depot, temps need to be between 50-75°F to paint elastomeric products.
Cold can affect its adhesion (stick to boards, etc).
You both have moved leap and bounds forward with the house.
I love all the 80's references you sprinkle into your videos.
We love the 80s too!
Nice work my friend
Thank you so much!
You guys have big plans for 2025 and are following through with them! Ausum!🙂Looking forward to the completion of your green house!
Happy new year to u both. Happy to see your steady innovations on your home

y'all did a huge amount of work in 2024
Were you planning to rock wall the dome to match and sturdy up the round roof? Happy Holidays!
Everyone should have the same label. "Individual"!!!

I just noticed that you did not stagger the roof panels, why not?
