We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.
@joshh2308 it's not so much they purchased their favorite from this list, they purchased a speaker, searched it up and found this video, then they comment how theirs is the best
I loved my flip 5 until last week after about 18 months the play, volume up/down and pair buttons became unresponsive. Can’t reset it because it uses these buttons to do that.
I don't know about that, mate. But in this video the Emberton was the only speaker that sounded anything slightly resembling a live performance. The others have over the top bass, and sound muddy AF (except for the JBL).
Based on the recordings (which did not seem level matched (at least for white noise)) I like the Marshall the best. Mids and high more balanced and free of the box sound. The Sonos was boxy, the jbl terrible and UE hot in the treble.
@@Climate.Realist I just purchase one today and it blows the Sonos away. If you pick up the Sonos it feels so light and empty. The sound was garbage compared to the Emberton which is not just weather resistant. It's waterproof and has been tested so not sure what these guys are talking about. I am very particular and if you want a clean true sound the Emberton is the best sounding. Oh and the Emberton by the way can be cranked up ALL the way and it doesn't lose it's base and quality. In fact from 70% up it sounds better!.... It's not all about how loud a speaker is. It's more about the sound quality and the Sonos does NOT do what they say. Marshall all the way out of this lot!...
Definitely team Jonathan. Sonos Roam is my 1st Sonos and it is so feature packed with tremendous sound. Also, I don't need it to survive falls and drops and dunks in lakes. It has everything I need and more. Looking forward to my next Sonos purchase.
I have a house full of old gen 1 sonos and I am unsure if the old speakers have the functionality where you can cast from the portable speaker to the older units? do you know?
Brilliant, detailed and impartial review, it certainly beats channels that do the "Best five [product type] for 2021" and just read out marketing blurb and show stock footage. Awesome job!
Born in 64 at age 7 got my 1st AM portable radio, speaker sounded like metal foil, My teenage years in the 70s I got a Boom box and it's sound was limited to non-digital radio or cassette tape but worked with Punk anyway lol, Now older I got a JBL Charge 1 in 2013 and I still use it, In the Shower every morning, outside construction, working on my car in the driveway, The beach, Motorcycle trips across the country, I love that thing and it sounds amazing. Basically though if you don't own a nice Bluetooth speaker your really missing out.
What a great video! You guys talked in-depth about every aspect of the speakers from your different perspectives, which really gave me a complete understanding of what to expect. And that 3D audio sound comparison was amazing!
I purchased the UE boom 3. I never crank this thing up all the way as it is too loud at 70% volume. That is what I like. Crisp Powerful sound with extra on tap that I would never need. UE boom 3 is a solid choice and you will not be disappointed with the performance
Wow I love this kind of review set up!!! It gives a more well rounded view of the speakers compared to other reviewers who can only present their perspective which is fine but it’s nice to understand why different people would rank the same speakers differently. For me it’s a toss up between Marshall and Sonos but I do reallyyyy envy the features the UE boom has, with the loop, durability and floating.
I purchased the roam from you guys on launch. I have Sonos throughout my home, so this was a simple choice. It adds to my ecosystem really well. Don’t know why I would choose anything else. Sounds amazing, looks and feels like all Sonos products - premium and sturdy. I would never through it in a lake🤣
Can’t deny the sound quality of the Roam, but I’ve had JBL Flips since the 3 and they’ve always been top notch for me. The volume, bass, durability and ability to fill an area with sound can’t be beat. Tried the UE before I got my Flip 4 and the sound fell a bit flat for me.
Bro how come? Flip is the one working with a single driver. It sounds flat the most among these speakers. Boom is more muffled maybe compared to flip. If you’re looking for a soundstage on a speaker the right choice is Marshall there. I recommend you to try. I have a charge 3 also and I stopped using it completely after getting the emberton
Totally agree. It’s bottom for me in looks but top in filling open spaces. On vacation at various airbnbs have had a chance to try all these and I was blown away by the performance of the JBL in an outdoor dining scenario. It sounds surprisingly rich for a portable. I WANT to like the Marshall, would look so much better with my little outdoor festival lounge setup.
@@manojpoudel3661 I generally listen at 50-80 percent range. I listen to it in my bachelor that’s why I don’t need my Bluetooth speaker to be really loud. It gets upto 87dB loud but I really don’t listen to music at that level. What I can say tho Marshall do not distort even at 100 percent at all. You lose from bass department when it’s at 100 percent volume but the clarity soundstage etc is still there. Mids and highs are shining. I have to admit I’m a rock music lover. Marshall’s sound signature really gives the edge on rock genre much more than party music. If you’re more into party music and you like to use your BT speaker outside mostly I’d say get a JBL. Marshall is more of a lifestyle product.
@@mattheturk8158 Jeebuz. Reading your comment just shows that it pays to keep on grinding... I've watched 20+ video reviews over the past two days on various smaller Bluetooth speakers, and your comments about the Marshall Emberton have helped to seal the deal for me. I've owned a JBL Flip and have nothing but good things to say about it, except for the fact that it does cater to the electronic music crowd just a bit - still, it's an absolute no-brainer choice for all genres of music; however, I don't crank the volume so much, so, the latest Sonos Roam and/or the new Marshall Emberton II are quite possibly my best bets based on style, but more importantly, full spectrum sound quality at lower levels. Thanks!
I’d like to take a moment to appreciate the sheer quality of this video! 👌 Guys, these reviews go from strength to strength and the endless quality and professionalism of your videos is outstanding! (You may recall I once made a comment regarding a previous sound quality issue previously in one of your UA-cam videos when you first started filming from the studio/shop, which turned out merely that you had ended up having to rely on an older boom mic, when you didn’t have any other option… A perfectly valid reason) Well needless to say, that turned out to be a one off and now everything is truly ‘on point’. Sound quality is massively impressive!! I honestly didn’t think the ‘sound tests’ on these products would translate too well, but it was perfectly decent and gave a fair understanding how similar the sound was between the speakers, yet the minor details in warmth and clarity were also distinguishable too! The editing of this video was absolutely first class also, with plenty of little editing touches to add a little ‘magic’ and make the video memorable. I love the progression you guys are making in your reviews too. The idea of Lui loosing a Roam for 3hrs in a lake and someone suggesting a clear container to demonstrate the water resistance on camera as a better idea, just makes me laugh in my head as I watch this video. The humour levels were brilliant, the banter between you both, the fact you kept the intro/outro ‘blooper’ in etc… Honestly, as far as product videos go, I think your team has moved into a league of its own! It’s relaxed enough to be inviting and be a more personalised viewing experience (Rather than what you’d see from a big named retailer like Curry’s for example) But is also high quality too, making it clear you are easily identifiable as ‘experts in your field’. (No I wasn’t paid to write this and no I don’t know the lads personally either) Reminding me that the ‘Troll Free Zone’ comment was brilliant and I like the idea that your fan base is becoming a community of watchers who share your audio passion too and comment appropriately with the focus being on the products and the quality of your productions. Constructive criticisms; * Consider using a Gimbal like a ‘Smove’ or something similar for the Close-ups of products sat on desks or being used in someone’s hand. In my opinion that minor detail, and not having ‘camera operator shake’ while capturing content makes a HUGE difference to the overall feel of the quality level you’ve retained from start to finish in the video. * Secondly, maybe consider re-capping the prices towards the end of the video also when you detailed your ‘Speaker Showdown Results’, as maybe I missed it, but apart from the Roam (which Jonathan said in person) I found myself pausing the video and going back to the start to re-look at the prices mentioned at the beginning of the video. I originally glazed over the prices at the start if I’m honest, as often a price is not really a comparable attribute until you have looked at the products quality and compared their features etc. The only thing the prices did at the start was potentially indentify to viewer to continue if they felt they could justify or afford those products, or swerve this entire video if they felt the products were too pricey potentially. 🤷♂️ Apart from that… UA-cam perfection in my opinion! 👌 Well done Guys!

@@rohittkrr When you are breaking down subjects by specifics then be fair. The Emberton is the best looking by far and I actually totally disagree with most of the comments. If I'm hiking the last thing I want is a speaker hanging off my back pack with music blaring. I'm out listening to the wildlife. If I travel the speakers would be inside my pack until I reach a destination and then pull it out and listen to it at moderate level. Why the hell would you blast your speaker so loud when hiking. Their scoring is so wrong. The Emberton is also extremely rugged. I've listened to all of these and the Marshell Emberton sounds cleaner and far more natural than the rest.....
Got the Flip 5 and Marshall Emberton. JBL Flip 5 has a forward mid to high range while the bass is filling, but it's not balanced. Marshall Emberton has a very balanced sound, it's not got that much bass compared to the JBL Flip 5 and it doesn't get as loud as the Flip 5. My preference is the Marshall Emberton as it sounds much more cleaner and balanced.
Great review guys. After listening to each of these similar sized speakers in your video, I found them all all lacking in terms of their overall sound reproduction quality, and you’ve convinced me to look at speakers that are a bit larger and hopefully have better sound because their speaker drivers are slightly larger.
thats so dumb literally ruins the point of these speakers theyre awesome to carry around with you literally everywhere and always have a decent speaker
Just from your sound test. I liked the JBL Best,UE boom, Marshall and then the Sonos. My opinion.and I want to thank you guys for doing these test. They do help us All on picking out the best speaker for our hard earned money. Great job guys. I'm on team both
Legends: Marshall Emberton: me Sonos Roam: sr UE Boom 3: ue JBL Flip 5: jbl My preference: 1. Design: me >> sr >>> ue >>>>>>>>>>>>>>jbl 2. Sound: me >>>> sr >>>>>>>>>> jbl >>>>>ue Not saying anything about features, portability and battery as these are objective.
Wow, UE Boom series never learn. Never sounded good to me. Design is nice and all, but overall sound quality is terrible. Marshall and JBL definitely have the major go there. JBL is more versatile, resistant and sounds awesomely good. The app is horrible though. Marshal sounds great too but more as an elegant peace of furniture that reproduces a nice ambient sound.
I have the UE Boom 3 and have been travelling with it for the past year and I love it. I can throw it anywhere and not worry about it. I have an older Bose Soundlink for when I’m at home and it still sounds great and performs well for around the house.
I own both the UE boom and the Sonos Roam. Although I love the UE Boom (I've used for 2 years) the Sonos Roam is far far superior. It's slimmer and lighter than the Boom, plus slightly smaller in height too. When traveling light, especially on airlines with weight restrictions, this is important. It feels more premium. It draws a lot more attention from friends. The sound is a little more crisp (although the Boom packs great base).
I own the JBL and UE speakers. Both are great battery wise and easy to have on adventures outdoors. My UE is definitely louder and the one I use more. But I believe the JBL has a better sound.
Wanted to buy a UE Boom based on prior experience, but to do my due diligence before spending the money. Feel very confident I've spend my money well based on this, thank you!
Thanks guys great job 👍 the Sonos roam came across with better clarity .. and price .$300.oo in Australia similar speakers . JBL 5 $190 (on special). UE boom 3 $200 . Cheers 😊
The sonos addicts are here. They csnt accept anything that sounds better than sonos and there only real counter argument is that "it connects to my sonos system."
@@oyindamolar.teniola1569 Because he's telling the truth. The Sonos doesn't come anywhere near the Marshall Emberton in all categories other than "it fit's in with my Sonos hone system". Sonos home systems are average at the very least. If you want a real home entertainment system spend a bit more and get Bose if thats what you're after. On a portable speaker level the Emberton blows all the others mentioned here out of the water.
I had 2 UE Boom's and both failed miserably after 3 months. To get the speakers replaced was a nightmare after all the troubleshooting recommended. I just ordered the Roam and hope to have a better experience.
For the sound purist, aka me, it has to be hands down the Roam, even though its portable it begs to be looked after and on that basis a clear winner especially as more than 10 hrs battery life is not a big factor at all with the myriad of charging and additional power source options available
For me, it's down to 2 winners depending on your lifestyle. 1. the JBL Flip 5 is fantastic if you're a mover, hiking, bicycling, playing ball, tennis, moving around stuff. 2. if you are a traveler, vacationer, business trips, camping, etc Marshall wins - in this video. however, in the traveling scenario, the JBL Charge 4 is the clear winner due to its 3.5 cable connection (the Charge 5 does not have this) for watching on your phone or tablet. until the LAT of Bluetooth is overcome you still need that connection and the ability to charge your phone is icing.
Not sure if it’s mentioned later but in the design section there’s no mention that the Sonos and JBL speakers are meant to be place horizontally like the Marshall. Only the UE is a true vertical speaker.

I don't understand how it is possible to compare speakers and NEVER talk about how much power they deliver, in Watts...
I have 12 or 13 UE boom speakers hidden all around my backyard and hidden in the bushes and plants around the pool and the sound is great and the party mode is amazing. I never take them in except to charge them and they survive the rainstorms for days . I still have an original Boom that has been through hell for around 8 years and besides a couple of scuffs and one small patch on the fabric, that looks like frayed rope, it still works like new. Without a doubt extremely durable!
I bought a Roam in early 2021 and was quite impressed for a few weeks except I thought it could have had a few more visual indicators for battery life and connections status etc. It sounded good while using it in my house and garden on Wi-Fi. HOWEVER, I took it on holiday to CenterParcs and couldn’t connect it to their public WiFi so I used Bluetooth and it was horrendous! It sounded like something you get free with petrol tokens, there was so much distortion which I tried everything to fix to no avail. Took it straight back to the shop for a refund on my return home. Really spoilt my first Sonos purchase experience.
Hi Jon, that doesn’t sound good and not a great experience but I can ensure you it must have been a fault with your unit as we have no heard of this issues with all the Roams we have sold. It also worth noting that it is hard to connect any Sonos speaker to a public Wi-Fi as the ports used to communicate with Sonos are normally blocked by the business who controls the Wi-Fi. Hope this helps.
Design wise, I think the JBL is the best, followed by the UE. The Marshall is third but definitely still beautiful - just a different aesthetic than the other two. The Sonos is fine, but the full plastic body seems like it wouldn't hold up as well as the fabric wraps that the JBL and UE have or the metal the Marshall has, especially if you're taking it out and about. Sound wise, the Marshall is best overall with good instrument separation, but the JBL is a close second with its better bass. The UE is third and the Sonos is the worst, especially given it is the most expensive. Features, for me, would have JBL in the lead due to how good Partyboost is, UE in second, Marshall in third, and Sonos in last (needing wi-fi to pair multiple speakers together is a huge letdown). I just wouldn't use the "smart" functions the Sonos has to make up for not natively pairing speakers together. Portability has JBL and UE tied, with neither the Marshall nor the Sonos really seeming like they should be taken out on a walk or hike but rather just meant for indoor use. Agreed with y'alls ranking for the battery life on the four of them. 1. JBL 2. UE and Marshall 4. Sonos
Team Lui for sure. I'm not interested in what the artist wants his music to sound like, I want to hear it the way I like it. The sound is the most important aspect of a speaker and should be weighted as such.
I’ve been looking for some reviews and comparisons between all four. There is no best one, it all depends on preference and use cases. I personally enjoy the sound from the Marshall Emberton the most. But I still ended up getting the UE Boom 3 because it is much cheaper and because it is much more durable. I intend to use the speakers when I’m at the beach, and the UE Boom 3 being more durable and also being dust/sand proof is a big plus for me.
Thanks for this review, still trying to decide. I'm looking for something that's durable for travelling but with good all round sound. I know it's hard to really tell sound quality from a youtube video but my take on what all sound like this side of the fence... Marshall: Good all round flat sound Sonos: Nice clean but warm sound JBL: Very nice balance and clear reverb on the vocals, much nicer than the others UE: very muddy sounding, hard to hear vocals. Given the cost of the JBL, its a winner for me. I'd like to hear the sound for myself though before deciding.
I have the boom 3 and mega boom 3 that are tuff and battery is still good after 3 years of use and most importantly for me it has an equaliser I have it set Bass 1,2 Mid 4 Treble 6,7 Great speaker 👍👍👌 So Glad I bought it
The end was hilarious! I'd have to go Boom 1st, Flip & Roam close 2nd and Emberton last (though I do like the design and smaller size) judging from your video. Really helped me out thanks!
If you want to hear loud music outdoors on a hike - wear headphones. A lot of us go outdoors for a hike to get away from unnatural sounds. Please have some consideration for others. Ps. I have the Emberton, great piece of kit, but I wouldn’t inflict my musical takes on others in the great outdoors.
That's dumb advice. You should never wear headphones when you're mountain biking. Hiker's aren't going to hear your music anyways since you'll be taking on different trails.
This review was unnecessary from the get-go. If you just want volume while you drink with your friends, pick whichever If you are an audiophile and appreciate amazing sounds, you hands down go with anything made by Sonos. Simple.
I have the Jbl flip5 & I mainly use it for my balcony & hotel room so I listen to volume not more than 25-30% I think as don’t want to disturb others . Price is not critical for my decision . I am interested in sound quality 1st & premium looks only ! I need a WiFi speaker as I have more range in my house ( I have WiFi coverage in entire apartment ) & don’t need to use my phone or iPad to stream music I can stream direct from WiFi & use my iPad or phone like a remote like I use on my other sonos speakers . Thanks for the review guys ! I will buy the Sonos roam for the advantages above the flip5 wich apply to my usage . I am very happy with the flip 5 sound it is an excellent sounding Bluetooth speaker I was afraid that it would sound better than the Sonos roam. At low volume I think flip 5 & Sonos will be hopefully similar sounding ! I will update my comments reg sound when I get the Sonos.
Sonos roam a winner for me clean sound nice touch of bass good battery easy to use. had a ue boom easy to set-up solid feel but poor quality sound,.muddy sound i would call it .but each to their own. Great video guys.
The JBL Flip 5 doesn’t sit on its side flat because when you place it on a table, the slight angle aims the driver more towards ones head, say if the speaker were placed on a table.
I have a LOT of Sonos speakers throughout the house. I love the Sonos system, it works great. I have a pair of Roams and a pair of Moves because the Roams really can't deliver the solid sound, even in pairs. However, teamed with a pair of Moves and now you're talking serious sound. The Roam is a great speaker for portability, but it really doesn't have that "Sonos" sound the One has. The Move is a FANTASTIC speaker, but it is heavy and I don't think it is nearly as portable as the Roam. I Also have the Bose Resolve which I think is a very solid speaker.
I use my speaker when I go mountain biking. Their are plenty of basic Bluetooth speakers out there for $40. Keep in mind that you can lose a $200 speaker as easily as you can a $40 dollar one.
I have the MagaBlasr speaker with Alexa. Pricier but nice. Alexa is limited compared to the DOT they have, but ask it to play music, it adds to it's quality.
The JBL Flip is basically the default option where I live since none of the others are sold in stores near me, only JBL and Sony, the rest are generally crappy cheaper versions from general electronics companies
assuming the sound test was 100% done in the same conditions, every speaker sounded kinda like it had a low pass filter, the JBL flip 5 however seemed to be the only one with that clearer sound. Thank you for this review, now i know what to buy for Christmas :)
Great video! I enjoy how the viewers get different perspectives on the product. It felt authentic. Very well done. As a runner/hiker I gotta go with team LUI!!!
Very helpful video, guys! In terms of features, you forgot to mention something in the features section: that the UE Boom 3 does not have a microphone and can not help with speakerphone needs. That information has solidified my purchase of a Sonos Roam.
Thank for this wonderful video! Great feedback, and I really appreciate having two reviewers with different perspectives sharing why they like one speaker over other. Jonathan, you mentioned you have a Sonos system at home; what Sonos pieces do you have? I am contemplating a new TV and new sound system to go along with it, and Sonos has to be a consideration. For the TV, can I use other Sonos speakers, say a combo/system of Sonos 5 and 1’s, in lieu of a soundbar? And use those speakers for both my TV and listening to non-TV audio?
I’ve listened to boom a couple of times and compared it to the same speakers. Boom? It’s the worst sound. It’s muffled and it sounds like a an Aliexoress speaker worth $1. Seriously. I’d go for Sonos or Marshall.
I was doing a bike trip and my jbl flip 4 started to be deffective and a few days later it was completely dead. I can only turn it on if it's on charge so the battery is probably dead. During the bike trip it was on the back of my baggae-carrier at direct exposure to the sun, outside temperature was not higher than 27°C. Quite disapointed that an "outdoor" speaker can't handle some sun. A friend with a cheaper bluetooth speaker didn't have any problem (and it was black so It should have heated even more than mine)
I had a Sony speaker, then bought the UE and bought a JBL as well. The Sony sounds ok, but it has horrible Bluetooth, and it depends on what you have connected if it will cut out. Overalls the vol is nice, a crisp and decent bass on it, but at 60 percent battery, you lose max vol. The UE blutooth seems great, no cut out, and the speaker is great, nice bass at lower volumes. The upper it lacks if you play high bass music because it's not as clear, but terrible. If you like country and rock, I'd say you would be more than happy with it. The JBL blutooth is good and has never experienced a problem. You can't tell much difference in low volume for the others, but the higher with it, you can hear it, and it's clearer on high bass songs. Overall, having those three and could only buy one id by the UE boom 3, it's not too much bass and crisp sounds and perfect on mostly any song's.
Marshall 6 in quality sound? on trial you didn’t mentioned which volumes you play all those four speakers, personal experience I notice Roam lack of bass and more distorsion at maximum volume ....I think there is also a bit unclear meaning of clear sound .. maybe because Roam as a incredible twitter but overall its unbalanced ... Marshall its warm sound and gives more impression to hear a natural sound ... and its a personal choice what to buy because both give different experience ... but to judge quality of sound 6 vs 8 I totally disagree. jbl good for party and background music .. the last ... well just power but found a flat sound comparing to otehr 3 . appreaciate your feedback guys .. thanks
a friend brought the UE Boom 3 over to my place and for sure it has great bass and plays LOUD for its size. It had a tinny quality to the highs though and after an hour or so listening to it, I had to turn it off -it literally caused me fatigue in my ears. After watching this, I wonder if he just messed around with the EQ and set it to cranked up bass and treble, leaving the mids too low and maybe it was user error. Local shops don't have these available for listening, so was hoping to figure out the best path forward using reviews. Our Bose SoundLink gen 1 speaker just crapped out and I wish I could just get the exact same thing over again! Great sound, good enough battery and reliable connection. I've now returned two of the current generation Bose speakers because they both had flaky bluetooth connections. Looking to move on......
Yep, totally agree. Had these all these port bt speakers in the past and the flip5 is my personal choice too. It’s not the best sound by far ofc but for the selection here, I think it packs a solid deal. Had my pair since release day and I could be happier. Just waiting for the flip6 now in my neck of the woods and I might give that a shot to see if there’s a discernible upgrade which warrants upgrading.
Just wow. 11:11 - UE Boom3
Not all heroes wear capes
I found a case for the sonos on Amazon that has a loop/carabiner just FYI
Team Johnathan for me, I have 2 Sonos roams and love them. Nice sound connects to the rest of my Sonos system, and just has a nice feel
hi is there a big diffence in sound when using in 2 speakers? thanks
@@sunnysy888 yeah definitely, especially if you stereo pair them together. The bass is better with 2
@@mitchflanagan8901 thank you 🙂
A very thorough and useful review. I am a Sonos fanboy but the UE also looks quite impressive.
Just bought 2 Roams to stereo pair them in my bathroom. I hope they sound good!
@@TronApostle they sound amazing in a bathroom.
@@mattheturk8158 do you listen to low volumes only or Emberton has enough loudness for most of us, despite being less loud in comparison?

Jeebuz.
Guys, these reviews go from strength to strength and the endless quality and professionalism of your videos is outstanding! (You may recall I once made a comment regarding a previous sound quality issue previously in one of your UA-cam videos when you first started filming from the studio/shop, which turned out merely that you had ended up having to rely on an older boom mic, when you didn’t have any other option… A perfectly valid reason)
Well needless to say, that turned out to be a one off and now everything is truly ‘on point’.
The humour levels were brilliant, the banter between you both, the fact you kept the intro/outro ‘blooper’ in etc…
Honestly, as far as product videos go, I think your team has moved into a league of its own!
It’s relaxed enough to be inviting and be a more personalised viewing experience (Rather than what you’d see from a big named retailer like Curry’s for example)
But is also high quality too, making it clear you are easily identifiable as ‘experts in your field’.
(No I wasn’t paid to write this and no I don’t know the lads personally either)
Reminding me that the ‘Troll Free Zone’ comment was brilliant and I like the idea that your fan base is becoming a community of watchers who share your audio passion too and comment appropriately with the focus being on the products and the quality of your productions.
Constructive criticisms;
* Consider using a Gimbal like a ‘Smove’ or something similar for the Close-ups of products sat on desks or being used in someone’s hand.
Apart from that… UA-cam perfection in my opinion! 👌
Well done Guys!
Wow, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! We always appreciate feedback, especially constructive feedback, but it's also great to read such a positive review and see how far we've come. We love creating content like this that helps our community make the right purchases for them and find some new products to enjoy their entertainment! Our channel has come a long way but we're still just getting started - thanks for joining us on our journey 😊
P.s we totally agree with the use of Gimbals and have reinvested money made from our channel back into our equipment to up the quality of our videos - including a new slider.
Thanks again for the comment, enjoy the content!
Marshall design a 6? Surely that guy have a great fashion style. Not 😅
He mentioned he is looking for more outdoor and adventure-and Marshall is completely opposite
@20:20 what about Marshall’s features then? 3 😅
He got hurt when the other guy said the least for him is JBL flip 😆
I feel like it's rude to play music while hiking. It would disturb other hikers. If its at low volume maybe it's fine but earphones exist for that 😅
Love this concept for a review video. Two guys with different opinions which helps us to make a more informed decision. More of these please!
@@alalal123421 not dumb. Just a difference in opinion and preferences.
I had 2 Flip 5 on my E-Bike in the same Colour. Great Sound until biking ! Greetings from Germany
Awesome reviews! Got the JBL. Fantastic piece of sound and design. Greetings from Brazil.
For 100 bucks, you can't beat the JBL flip 5
Just from your sound test. I liked the JBL Best,UE boom, Marshall and then the Sonos. My opinion.and I want to thank you guys for doing these test. They do help us All on picking out the best speaker for our hard earned money. Great job guys. I'm on team both
Legends:
Marshall Emberton: me
Sonos Roam: sr
UE Boom 3: ue
JBL Flip 5: jbl
My preference:
1. Design:
me >> sr >>> ue >>>>>>>>>>>>>>jbl
2. Sound:
me >>>> sr >>>>>>>>>> jbl >>>>>ue
Not saying anything about features, portability and battery as these are objective.
UE is built like a tank for sure. I've owned it and loved it. For pure sound quality though, JBL flip 5 is way better.
is the ue boom still holding up well? I want to buy one but i heard they stop working after like a year
@@kshsajahanshsjsbwb3551 mine is still working like a charm and it’s been on beaches, rivers and poolsides. Battery is also holding up well.
I have the JBL speaker and the UE Boom speaker and I love them both ,but I definitely want to buy the Marshall
i got the sonos roam, works seamlessly with my home system. Great video gentlemen
Best ever video! I'm Switzerland in this, all the speakers are great depending on what you want!
Hi baby
I own the JBL and UE speakers. Both are great battery wise and easy to have on adventures outdoors. My UE is definitely louder and the one I use more. But I believe the JBL has a better sound.
how is the ue boom 3 holding up? i want to buy one but i’ve heard that it stops working after like a year.
This comment is so funny 😆 you sound fed up
@@oyindamolar.teniola1569 Because he's telling the truth.
@@rdp8545 wow if any brand is overrated it's Bose .
The Boom 3, if you press the + and - at the same time, you will get a audible reading on the battery life
I had 2 UE Boom's and both failed miserably after 3 months. To get the speakers replaced was a nightmare after all the troubleshooting recommended. I just ordered the Roam and hope to have a better experience.
UE sucks big time
For the sound purist, aka me, it has to be hands down the Roam, even though its portable it begs to be looked after and on that basis a clear winner especially as more than 10 hrs battery life is not a big factor at all with the myriad of charging and additional power source options available
Not trolling but flip 5 yes. Jbl is is best…charge 5 I would say everyone should buy.
Marshall Emberton the best! 💪🏼👍
Not sure if it’s mentioned later but in the design section there’s no mention that the Sonos and JBL speakers are meant to be place horizontally like the Marshall. Only the UE is a true vertical speaker.
I don't understand how it is possible to compare speakers and NEVER talk about how much power they deliver, in Watts...
too much of empty talk
Excellent !!! Subscribed !!! Have a JBL but will soon buy a Marshall
Thank you for helping me make my decision. I am buying Flip 5.
You crazy homie. I like it, I have like 6 around my house grouped up. Just got hit play and every room has music.
@@Tiralful For me they have been the best! When I have a pool party or BBQ nobody knows where the sound is coming from.😂
Top-notch video.
You guys have a bright future. Well done.
1. JBL
2. UE and Marshall
4. Sonos
to check the power on the ue boom you can press + and - toghether
UE Boom 3 has the highest points when you add up the points for both the guys. Winner!
I love UE products but it's 2022 and they don't have USB-C ports yet, so I'm going with Sonos because they are up to date.
Call me crazy but Emberton should be used next to a backdrop. I don't know about the other speakers but at least it really oomphs Emberton's sound.
Megaboom 3 for me
Thanks for this review, still trying to decide. I'm looking for something that's durable for travelling but with good all round sound.
I know it's hard to really tell sound quality from a youtube video but my take on what all sound like this side of the fence...
Marshall: Good all round flat sound
Sonos: Nice clean but warm sound
JBL: Very nice balance and clear reverb on the vocals, much nicer than the others
UE: very muddy sounding, hard to hear vocals.
Given the cost of the JBL, its a winner for me. I'd like to hear the sound for myself though before deciding.
I have the boom 3 and mega boom 3 that are tuff and battery is still good after 3 years of use and most importantly for me it has an equaliser I have it set Bass 1,2 Mid 4 Treble 6,7 Great speaker 👍👍👌 So Glad I bought it
Before testing is heard…I love Marshall and Sonos…Sonos speakerphone would win me over!
The end was hilarious! I'd have to go Boom 1st, Flip & Roam close 2nd and Emberton last (though I do like the design and smaller size) judging from your video. Really helped me out thanks!
After watching this, imma gonna learn scuba diving and buy the Sonos Roam.
Great Video. My Bose Soundlink Mini has died and wanted something similar in price range but louder and all of these seem to be a good fit.
If you just want volume while you drink with your friends, pick whichever
If you are an audiophile and appreciate amazing sounds, you hands down go with anything made by Sonos. Simple.
My friend has JBL and I have a Marshall, the only reason why he is happy is that his speaker is cheaper and saved some money.
Marshall has it's class.
Yes that is the exact reason they designed it like that I think he is just being stupid and nit picky
Sonos is great if you are a sucka
I don’t need any of them but it would be the Marshall for me, all day long!
JBL’ s are awesome I have had the Flip and a Charge.
Loved the vid guys. Haven't watched any other vid by you guys but I like the different opinions you guys have.
UE is the best overall. The on/off from the app is my favourite feature, can't live without it
Oh my God please stop
I listened to Emberton, Sonos, Boom and JBL sound tests on my JBL Flip 5 😀😀😀😀😀 technically my JBL was a judge in its own case🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Absolutely great and informative video, keep up the good work 👍🏻
The JBL Flip is basically the default option where I live since none of the others are sold in stores near me, only JBL and Sony, the rest are generally crappy cheaper versions from general electronics companies
Buy the JBL, you won't be disappointed
anyone thinks that all JBL products look so ugly? Cause that what I think and stick with Marshall.
yup. JBL flip4/5 with white colour are the only good looking JBL speakers. I owned Marshall Emberton and it is really such an eye-candy.
JBL is for kids who don't want to listen to music but just party. I will go for Marshall for the sound quality is exceptional.
assuming the sound test was 100% done in the same conditions, every speaker sounded kinda like it had a low pass filter, the JBL flip 5 however seemed to be the only one with that clearer sound. Thank you for this review, now i know what to buy for Christmas :)
Great informative video as always… this allows many to choose the best speaker to meet their needs. I have the Roam and JBL.
Which do you prefer? I purchased a Sonos Roam yesterday and it's nice, but curious if the JBL would be a better choice.
Great review. Just don't know of that many people actually have Sonos products in their homes for it to rate that high for its features.
Younger guy likes to go on adventures, older guy is conservative.... LOL.. I am older and like the younger guys impressions of these.
Marshall all day long; especially the black and brass
Marshall for me... The Sonos is so light and the bass is very muddy when you start to put the volume up.
Hey guys, awesome video, could you tell me where Bose Soundlink speaker will sit in this lineup according to you?
Marshall is a clasic I love it I would never change for other one.
Hi guys, please do not ignore such important features as supportability of the Bluetooth codecs(AAC,aptx, ldac) as it really impacts the sound quality.
I don’t have any of them, but I would probably go for the Sonos Roam as it has WiFi and could use it with my Play 1.
Good afternoon. This is great news for me. I'm going with Sonos roam.Right now. T/you.
Marshall its warm sound and gives more impression to hear a natural sound ... and its a personal choice what to buy because both give different experience ... but to judge quality of sound 6 vs 8 I totally disagree. jbl good for party and background music .. the last ... well just power but found a flat sound comparing to otehr 3 . appreaciate your feedback guys .. thanks
Marshall is the best by far to me.
Have a Flip 5 and Marshall Emberton, different sound signature, Marshall more for serious listening due to stereo ability, tuning more rock'n'roll
a friend brought the UE Boom 3 over to my place and for sure it has great bass and plays LOUD for its size.
Same thing happened to me. Friend bought it to work. Boom is so loud bass. I want to get one but I hate the round design
I’m team both 😁. Great vids guys
