    I bring a motorcycle cover. All my stuff get's laid over the bike at the end of the night and the cover goes on. It keeps everything dry and the dew off of things. Or like other people have mentioned, I also will put things under the hammock tarp, but I normally don't bring a ground tarp, so it's only within other bags and normally only when it's raining and wanting to keep things close.

      That’s a good idea! I just got a haven tent it’s a flat hammock and it has way more space inside for gear. It’s been working really well on the last few rides. I’ll have some videos about it in a few weeks.

      @@xpeditionpgh actually haven’t decided we’re prepared to do both we enjoy camping, but depending on weather, we may want to get out of the elements since we’re coming up from Florida and anything below 90° is cold for us lol

    I am new to Adv motorcycling. Bought a KLR 6 weeks ago… gearing it up to go camping and just read about the BDR system… so viewing your vids and seeing how the BDR program rolls… was very cool. Thx for posting.

    Great video. Heading up there next week to do the same ride. One word of caution.....it is fall in Pennsylvania and that means that deer are rutting! Extremely unpredictable and dangerous. I would recommend taking it down about 10 mph this time of year.

    By the way , I've posted extensively this past year on the rear brake rotor getting super hot on the KTM 890 Adventure. On ADVrider. The consensus is this is normal for rear rotor. The rear has far less surface area and only one rotor in rear; than front. No issues with front. I've tested both with OEM and Warp 9 rotor. Both generate a lot of heat. I know lean on my front brakes more.

      The rear doesn't get airflow over rotors like front. Also just less surface area. I experienced that for first time fiddling with rear wheel after ride. @@xpeditionpgh

    If I get to ride this BDR-X, I'll take it slow and easy to appreciate the scenery.

    Underneath the hammock is Where you keep your stuff. I carry a walmart backpacking tarp for a ground cloth. Serves 2 purposes. Keeps your stuff off of the ground and keeps the ground condensation from creeping up

      I know it was a remote spot, but I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my camera gear on the bike or under the hammock. A tent is a little more secure for your belongings. I personally prefer sleeping in the hammock but I’m pretty convinced a tent will be a better solution for next time.

      I hammock camp serveral times a year . I carry 2 light weight Wp bags for gear storage . Use hunters strap which has hooks to hang these bags on a tree. These bags will hold my helmet and all my riding gear and keep dry and bug free. Don’t forget your panniers are WP also.

    You have a tarp over your hammock, put your things to keep dry under your hammock.

    Amazing content and wonderful scenery. I'm about to get a dji omso action 4 to replace my gopro ugh. What mic adapter and settings are you using for the gain? Perfect voice and sounds of the bike. Also I recently purchased a 2023 890 adventure base model in July of 2023 I absolutely love mine.

      This is the DJI Mic. It’s awesome I got it the day before the ride and took it out of the box and that was the extent of the time I had to play with it. I’m planning on making a video about the mic and the video setup. I made some mistakes with it and I’ll include that as well. Hope to do that in the next few weeks

    • @xpeditionpgh
      @xpeditionpgh  6 місяців тому

      I couldn’t tell either but I tend to ride 35 to 45mph. When I stand up on the bike the camera looks way faster than I’m actually going, maybe because you can’t see the bike in the shot.
