@@UbergeeksBiz Okay, so I am a pc technician, specializing in software. I was given 5 HP laptops to configure for our organization, all came with Windows 11 home. I do have a ms account that I could use and was ready to use, however, when I started up the first laptop, and it gets to the point of asking you to connect to a wifi network, I chose ny network, but unchecked the always connect. The next step was it was doing an update...then it went to this question...Who is going to use this and you put in a name, then a password....answer all next questions and it proceeded to update again. Then it opened up and it was on a local log in. I could not believe it, so I did the same procedure to the next laptop, when I got to connect to wifi network, again I chose my wifi network, unchecked the always connect, put in my password for my network and it did the same thing. Logged in with a local network....never once did I have to create or was asked to create a MS account. Give it a try and see what happens.
@@sharencuster6252 Thank you for sharing. I'll give that a try. BTW, with WiFi, another way is turn off the router to trick laptop for not finding the WiFi. To bypass answering MS questions. Appreciate your insight. Thank you
@@UbergeeksBiz I understand that but this way you don’t have to turn it off. I thought it was a fluke but was able to do this on all 5 laptops. Thanks for reading my solution.
Your instructions are right to the point. No unnecessary chatter. Thank you! Just opened my new laptop, did not understand what the problem was until now.
Great Video Thx My new Acer didn't come with an either net socket so I set my phone as a WIFI Hot spot and that worked awesome then I switched the WIFI Hot spot off
Great tutorial, thanks! I am going to try to set up a Win 11 system for a friend, later today and will keep you posted on how it goes. I totally agree with the way you did the set up, less is better, especially with MS and Hp, just too intrusive in my opinion. This will be m first shot at doing an 11 system, I did set up his Win 8(gaaaaaaaaaaah) system when he got it a few years ago and frankly HATED it. I have both Win 7 and Win 10 systems, which aren't a problem but my main systems are Linux, the Mint variant, which I have preferred over Windows for years. Thanks again, excellent tutorial!
This trick is for Windows 11 Home. You don't need this trick for Windows 11 Pro, there is an option for local account. In addition, it may be useful to connect to Wi-Fi and press the next button and then turn off the modem or router immediately. I haven't tried it myself, I don't know if it will work.
Thank you for this helpful video. I'd suggest turning off your video lighting - you don't need it when you take video of a luminous object like a computer screen - and it makes unwanted reflections.
Man the info is spot-on but you really need to do something with the placement of your lights/devices in your studio. The lights are reflecting horribly in your monitor. I'm not putting you down just trying to help you.
Just unplug your router and it works if you already connected to WiFi and can't get past this. Will bypass and ask your name and to create a password. Verified working June 2022
best video ever, one question tho, lets say i have windows 11 now and need to do a clean install of it on my desktop PC, can i do the same thing as you shown and demastrated in this video ????...... so far this is the easiest video how too i have found as of yet, thank you and hugs....... 🥰 , i'm still on windows 10 home 64bit, i'm going to wait till windows update pops up wit the option to upgrade to windows 11, i got till october 2025 to upgrade to 11.........
Yes. When you go to Settings, Updates & Security, Recovery, Reset this PC to do a clean install of Windows 11. It will then bring you back to this video screen I showed. Follow this step and you will have a local standalone PC. Thank you.
Question on your ethernet USB you showed the yellow ethernet cable connect to the black USB to the hp laptop. What did you plug in the yellow ethernet cable on the other side?
How are you connected to the internet when you disconnected the laptop from the ethernet to USB connector? Are you purposely not connected to the internet during the initial set-up process?
Mine goes from What country, is this the right keyboard layout, do you want to add a second keyboard layout straight to Let's add your Microsoft account. How do I get past that. No skip, no restart button nothing but Next...then when you click next it loops right back to sign in at Microsoft. 😩
That makes me not to use any of applications without that Ms account which I have already tried buh yet still displaying same thing and even to in app from another PC is wahala and my laptop is same thing as urs right now
I wish i watch this video before setting up my new laptop. I used MS acct during set up and all my files are now visible on the laptop which I don't want. So the whole point of not connecting to wifi is to avoid using MS account? How do undo this?
Hi, I have started to setup my new computer without Microsoft account. But, I have already put the WiFi pass code. Would you please help me a little bit as how can I by pass this WiFi Pass code? Thanks
THaaaaank you! My gosh, Microsoft gone so vicious with its forceful methods! Wish they get sued for that crap. Seriously, if I buy laptop- it is MY laptop, whya re they FORCING you to make account with them without any options to skip.
Doesn’t work for me. When I unplug there’s an upside down ice cream cone on the screen and it says “oops lost Internet connection”. Then it won’t move forward anymore in the process.
Hey, i got the same laptop but now it's logged in with a microsoft account but i don't want it. How can i remove it now? I want to use my laptop without the account

Could You technically sign in, then go use "nteplwiz" and create new Local Account with all administrative privileges options, and then just sign out + delete the first connected account?
I found an easier way to connect and totally bypass MS account. If you would like me to tell you let me know.
Yeah, I'm interested to know. Please show

One more thing, this has to do with wifi connect, not ethernet.

The other end of yellow cable goes into router LAN port

How can I connect my New window 11laptop set up for the first time
How are you connected to the internet when you disconnected the laptop from the ethernet to USB connector? Are you purposely not connected to the internet during the initial set-up process?
Purposely not connect to internet - To avoid signing into microsoft account
so does that mean no wifi? How will I get internet when I want to browse?

If you have already joined the WiFi, either turn off at the router or block web access for the device then click back.
