Vulcan, in future naval battles, turn off anti-ship missiles on your vessels until a target is in range of a few of your ships (at least 3), then turn them on. Rather than your missiles firing of piecemeal and getting shot down by CIWS, all of your ships will fire at roughly the same time, overwhelming the enemy and guaranteeing a few hits. Think of it like holding your fire until you "see the whites of their eyes" rather than plinking off chance shots at max range.
A fun lil trick I learn’t when using OHP’s, well really it can be applied to all ship based ASMs, is to turn off the Harpoons of all your ships until you have a target in range of all selected ships and then just hit “Turn off Weapons” twice and select a target. They all fire at once and you can bet on taking out their ships much more efficiently. With OHPs, since they carry 16 missiles yet only fire one at a time, you can do this 16 times. Seems like it takes around 5-6 missiles to break through a Naijin, Luda to kill on average. Have to admit, was pretty impressed that your Pegasus managed to kill himself first time I’ve seen something like that xD
Not at all what the game is about, it would be like having direct control of an aircraft carrier, the game is about managing soldier level units, if you go any higher than that it just becomes a sim and not a game
@@tomsoki5738 A battleship and a Carrier are not the same at all. The Battleship would be fulfilling a direct action role just like a destroyer or cruiser. It's just bigger. It would make sense because it would be right up in the action, unlike a carrier, which would be rear echelon support with aircraft. The way they implemented the Carriers makes sense, but Battleships and Kirovs would have been a very interesting and fun addition to the game.
@@huntclanhunt9697 It would have to cost about 10,000 points to balance, a battleship is a divisional and up support platform while War game focuses on at the very most Battalion level
Pro-tip! If instead of defending you move your forces to Ongjing and Kaesong without initiating a battle, the enemy has to spend it's next turn to routing your forces out of there, meaning you get the political points from Seoul and Chunceon during the next turn. Now you won't get the points since these areas become contested immediately.
That ain’t a pro tip, because if he loses the battle at oinjing by too much then he will lose cohesion and shit, making the defense of busan ans Seoul even harder
To win the Enterprise battle, I typically spawn as many command ships and cham su ris as I can in the top corner of Delta and send them all into the adjacent enemy spawn. You can destroy their ships and block the cap zone almost immediately and lose minimal units. Rushing and overwhelming is better than buckling down and waiting for naval.
It’s actually quite easy for the first battle for the 2nd Korean War, just put normie cheapest CV on the points and only use pegasus overwhelm enemy CV’s CIWS and destroy them only. While using other CV’s and Korean Cham-Su-Ri to from a defensive CIWS along side your CV’s. Place your pegasus behind the defensive CIWS line and slowly chip away the enemy CV’s and get a easy total victory. (note to remember: space your Cham-Su-Ri and CV’s a little bit apart and horizontal to the enemy fleet the former is not to cause a chain reaction of explosions if one enemy missile get thought your defensive line, and the latter is to maximise the use of CIWS of your ships. Also constantly resupply your pegasus only as it can take a lot of missile to fully take down the enemy fleet, try not to resupply your CIWS defence line as they eat up your supply ships extremely quickly. Also the first part of the attack is quite hard so I suggest you take out the lone Sovremenniy in Navel sector November so they don’t spawn in more ships in that area, then you will easily contain the enemy fleet at Naval sector Mike as the AI usually don’t go back the November) Also try to move your fleet in friendly controlled area
Damn I love this video, IDEK what to belive anymore :D Also I would like to be able to fight wih the CV and all of it`s planes, dont tell me that ca CV that can carry over 100 planes has only 4 on a full alert duty.

I hate people who play this like an arcade... They could just put points with the name or symbols instead of the graphic quality and the careful environment to be used as cover and they wouldn't care... they just click in a straight line and look for farming and exploit with units in groups. I'm sure they would complain about the graphics later.

This game should have had Iowa class battleships. They were in use, and imagine the damage in a coastal bombardment!

That pegasus commited seppuku on the spot. Im gonna be honest, i like the 45 min episodes much more. :)
donica42 I second the motion for longer episodes
TMSD 72 the new ep is 40 min so we kinda won! :)

Vulcan-Your were not supposed to win the 1st naval battle! Now you have messed up the balancing for the entire campaign. Well done I love this series.

My guy I love you I just tried this and couldn't believe my eyes that it was working and only lost the 2 cham ris
You got lucky, i had a match where they rushed me with all their tarantuls, komars and both their sovs.
hahah truu
Ok game this campaign is meant to take place in 1992, yet you give access to super hornets which entered service in 1999...
When I was barely able to get major defeat (almost total), Vulcan was able to get major victory. Wow.
24:28 lmao, you can't make this shit up
The thing about the Russian Granit missiles is they're the size of a car and CIWS has appropriate trouble stopping them.
You know this is a good game when the Pegasus kill itself and the OHP kill 3 SU-27 by killing himself
The OHP didn't kill itself. The SUs hit it with their missiles and its death turned them all into fireballs. Which is hilarious.
raozspaz Yeah... I know that, but I don't really care. That OHP is a hero.
Oh most certainly : D
Thank you for more Red Dragon campaign videos.
thank you Vulcan. north and south is one!
i realize it's a 3 year old video but cwis is pronounced See-Whiz
Inb4 You win this game too in first turn. Jk :D but loving this series, keep up the good work!
Excellent job Vulcan. You did very well for your first skirmish with those Russian naval units. Cannot wait for the next video.
The game feels so different 6 years ago
"See Aye Double-Yoo Ess."
Please, no. CIWS is pronounced "Sea-Whiz."
I wonder why you don't employ more support for your units , most looked like their ammo was depleted
For my naval games ill take 3 Olivers, one kongo and 4 chan su ri’s and create a hedgehog formation. All i need are resupplies

Second battle is a hell of a lot harder
How to open koreqn scond war, should all mission finished first??
Would love to see you play through the European Escalation campaigns as well, they're very good, arguably better in their own ways
that pegasus didnt lang for this world :D
It looks good, is this as complex as it looks?
Wtf this dude is a pro
I saw a guy take 10 turns to take that map

Penguin Dan I mean their was more than 4 planes... 4 tomcats and 3 fa/18 hornets. But, I get your point.

Maybe you could have avoided some losses...
It should be much better if we could play with URSS...

Whoooo
