H’mmmm!? A man cannot give the memory of his truth!? “It is not a possession”. But! He can share the experience through encouraging you to “seek and you shall find!?”
What if you read books of memories of other peoples truths, and then you have a memory of anothers memory of their truth? Kind of like, learning from other peoples mistakes before you learn from your own ;)
I worked as a musician for many years. However, I never “made it”. Most people don’t. When I examine my path, I realize that I started out writing music from my own “map of reality”. People loved my music. But I then became obsessed with Kurt Cobain. I learned a lot from my in-depth study of his life and music. But at some point, I lost my own “map of reality” in songwriting, and started to just emulate Kurt. I lost my own voice in the process. I had tons of success with my music at first (when it came from my voice). But as I became less myself, people noticed and many tuned out. If you lose your own “map of reality”, you will also lose a lot of respect for the things you put out into the world. People are intuitive. They know when something truly comes from you, or is just an echo of someone else.
Aw Snap Tiger! U've said a POWERFUL AND BEAUTIFUL MOUTH FULL OF YOUR EXPERIENCE AND ENLIGHTENMENT AFTERWARDS. KUDOS MY DEAR, AND THANKS FOR SHARING THIS!
But most of our thoughts/ perception of reality is based on what we see, hear, observe while growing up. And it is on this collected information that our psyche is created. Whatever our 'true' personality is , it is just an amalgamation of all the things we have experienced outside ourselves.
@@TheAlchemist1089 The Resurrection pretty much covers everything but if you need a slower entry to ease your way into new ideas the Power of Awareness is a good start. He speaks very plainly. Nothing pretentious. He gives a valuable tool and exercises designed to strengthen the mental muscles used to create and demands you to take responsibility for that power. It's essentially self hypnosis and controlled visualization then carrying those imaginings into your dreams. He claims that's the most effective way to impress upon the subconscious
As a person with a mental health condition one day I realized I had to trust myself. From that day, I became more stronger, more balanced and my life started to change when I followed my own intuitions, I found my own answers and believe in myself. I am no longer the person I was and everyday I am finding more answers. Be brave, believe in yourself and learn from everything and everyone.
Wonderful words!! I love what you are saying, I have mental illness too and I've also learned that you have to trust in yourself and that your own quirky ways are special.
yeah, i trusted myself once....that was the last time......he beat me up, robbed me, and left me in a ditch, then in the morning made me pancakes and took me out to mcdonalds. I can never seem to get away from him and he is always there....always watching...almost as if he is in my head.... Most contradicting insane person ive ever met.....
nothing is true, everything is permitted. people only live and fight for what they believe is true for that everyone is equally represented as the hero and the villain to their respective audience.
This is sad because sometimes it feels like almost the whole world is filled with followers. In my life, I've met a lot of people, and maybe three or four of them were actually thinking for themselves. It's frustrating when everyone agrees with me all the time because the conversation becomes a monolog, not a constructive dialogue.
Not to be another yes man who agrees with you because believe me, it's a pet peeve of mine too, like you're talking to an echo chamber, but you said this really well. I love the description of "monologue rather than constructive dialogue", I've never even thought of that. But, to be honest with you, I feel like it's always been that way. That most people are followers. That's just how it is. I feel like that's the real message the Matrix movie was trying to get across too. Anybody can be freed and wake up at any point, but they don't. We're asleep. It's like we're dreaming and we could become lucid but don't. Just living life without ever being aware of our place in the universe. And, that's okay. It is sad, but it's alright. We all have the freedom to question everything, ourselves and our beliefs included. And hey, even if we're conscious of it or not, we'll always be growing in some form or another, learning things as we get older. We'll be asleep for as long as we want to, and when we don't want to be asleep in this game anymore, we'll wake up. And when we don't want to be awake anymore, we'll go back to sleep.
I get what you mean about 'people not thinking for themselves', but the way you casually dismissed 'followers' as below leading types, just irked me. I think that with the beating downs of age and time, it really does a number on a person. You'd be surprised that the followers you casually dismiss have depths to them that are inaccessible to you.
@@ti2218 What do you mean at the end by "we'll go back to sleep"? Can you really become even more ignorant purposely? It seems to me, that we're both sleeping while being awake at the same time, like sleeping with your eyes open, but in a dream aswell.
@@Yusa_Beach well, we can choose to become more ignorant, I'd say. It's like an addiction. We know smoking cigarettes are bad. Yet, some of us do it anyway and construct a complex system of lies we tell ourselves to rationalize it. We do the same for all kinds of bad habits to convince ourselves it's alright, even though deep down we know these habits are not good for us. Basically, we can have knowledge of something that would be of great benefit or detriment to us, but not act in accordance with that knowledge. "There's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path." This is what I mean by "we'll wake up and we'll go back to sleep when we want to". We can choose to open our minds, our hearts, and our eyes, at any time, but sometimes it hurts. This is why we are very hesitant to let our guards down, especially around strangers but even with those closer to us. It damages our ego. We put down our walls and become vulnerable. It's how connections are formed but it's also how we get burned, double crossed, hurt, insulted, and humiliated. But connections are ultimately what matters most, at least to me, though one of the longest running studies have shown that of all the things in life that bring joy to people it is almost always having positive bonds, and strong, authentic ones, with the people you care about. Love and compassion. The more you tend to these flowers in your life, and "You can always be more kind" (Tenzin Gyatso), the more they will blossom and, well things just get better. They feel more purposeful too. That's my opinion anyways, I'm not doing too great of a job articulating it and I may be wrong. If you ever any rebuttles or things to contradict what I just said, please throw them at me. Believe me I love getting proven wrong. It's an opportunity to learn, grow, and it's always humbling.

One of my favourite sayings is “There is your truth, there is my truth and then there is the truth”. My reality of my existence is what is truth to me, no one else. I pride myself on being a sovereign human being. I still love to learn and have recently been learning about different philosophies. I am always wary of anything man created. I use my discernment and decide for myself what is the truth to me.
@@Mr.Honest247 I have a friend who really wants to know the truth and is keen for the truth to come out, especially around covid. I am honestly not bothered any more about the real truth. My friend wants to know what is going to happen all the time. I prefer all the magic to unfold and to be surprised. The truth is no longer important to me.

One thing I've noticed is that someone can give you advice on something they have experienced, a precautionary warning of sorts, but you'll end up doing the exact same thing that the person has warned you against anyways. It is only after the fact, that you see for yourself what the person actually meant. Only then can you go back to that person, as an equal in that experience, and really have a conversation adding your own perspective
Yeah... That happens. Gotta note that while this is right, you do it because you, not knowing he's right or not, only "know" that there's a 50% chance he's right or wrong. Gotta see yourself, unless you think it's too dangerous to try.
Sometimes that's true. Other times you are dumb to repeat the mistakes of others. Easy example: i have never been so drunk that i regretted it, but i constantly see people puking or doing dumb shit while being drunk. I learned from their mistakes without doing them myself
There are reasons why we were put into boxes and all those boxes boil down to mental "disorders". I understand why categories were created in the first place. We were once just humans born on a planet along with trees and nature. In the ancient time.. these "mad" people were seen as holy and gifted to be able to feel and exist out of the majority senses. Follow the history of the medical field and how it has been warped to profit those that gain from your "disorder". There's a reason why Know Thyself is so powerful.. because we have been conditioned to do the opposite and then rely on pharmaceuticals and shrinks for the rest of our lives. Today's society is excapism and entrapment of your true potential and lable you in the same category as "conspiracy theories". It's a long story being spun and you have to know that you are powerful beyond measure. Each one of us has been stigmatized. Loss of identity, feelings of hopelessness and loneliness. Pain and violence thrown at us from almost every angle now and it's all led up to this point in time. Everyone needs more than their salary to be financial stable. The best thing to do with your money is to invest it rightly, because money left for saving always end up used with no returns.
I’m looking for something to venture into on a short term basis, I really need to create an alternate source of income, what do you thing I should be buying?
The quest is simple, seek tranquillity, be inquisitive, but don't believe everything you hear, did you learn anything, your own map of reality, be a devotee of truth, my own unique perspective✅
This really makes me think about our current social media culture, with me following people...what am I really "following" certain people for? What am I really learning? And also, what do influencers really want?
I just deleted all my online accounts. Why do we worship others when we should work on the betterment of ourselves? We literally only see the best of what people post. It is not real life. Real life is the one that you make
I recently started reading Berserk and the way Guts acts in the Golden Age arc really made me wonder. The speech he gave to Casca about bonfire of dreams and Griffith inspired me so much. The more I delve in, I now realize Guts and the life he lives fits to Nietzsche philosophy so good. Rest in peace Miura.
This is exactly what I've been feeling. Lately I follow everyone around me. I follow their way of being and start to lose sight of my own way. I became a follower. Now I'm sick of following people so I'm literally leaving. Not forever, just for a bit, to gain back my own sight, my own reality.
I feel like following can be a problem in certain situations, doing everything that everyone around us is doing just because they’re doing it can be dangerous, especially in this world with a lot of peer pressure, It really matters who you are following, that’s why I follow the Lord Jesus Christ, his wisdom instructs and sustains me through the day while being a light for me in the dark spots of this world, I highly recommend reading the Gospels for the wisdom in them, they are very edifying, much love to you man 👍🏽 ❤
Wow. We can all learn a good lesson from this. I’ve been watching a lot of docs on cults lately and this is the exact opposite of what cult leaders want, namely: “Follow me, trust no one.” It’s so important to pay attention to other people’s (and our own) motivations. Trust Yourself!

I'm in a very rough place in my life right now. And for whatever reason, this video brought me to tears. I couldn't help being so incredibly overcome with sadness at the fact that most people in our world are so far disconnected from any hope of finding truth, and so caught up in drama and belief that it feels like we will be stuck in a dark age forever. But then, at the end, I was overcome with joy, at the reality that we are all the same, and if I have the potential to realize this, we all do. And maybe we can overcome this period of disconnection by learning from each other. Thank you for this video.

"It is my perception that a true friend never relies on anothers dream. A person with the potential to be my true friend must be able to find his own reason for life without my help. And he should put his heart and soul into protecting his dream. He would never hesitate to fight for his dream, even against me. For me, a true friend is one who stands equal to me in all respects."
It's so interesting that just today I was debating with myself on whether I should trust my own beliefs or those of others such as my parents, teachers and friends. I have always wanted to follow my own path, however meandering that is, but the winds of social pressure and societal constructs are constantly trying to blow me off course. At times I even contemplated going away from my path but now I know that I was right to believe in myself the entire time. Thank you internet person, for both restoring faith in myself and shielding me from the winds.
I grew up thinking for myself. I wound up having a completely different perspective on religion, life, and reality itself than everyone around me. I started this journey by myself, for myself. This video pretty much sums up what I learned by mapping my own reality. My fears have set me back from allowing others room for the same path. I live in a place where the masses follow violence, so I became afraid when those close to me did not listen to my teachings. I don't want them on the path of the followers, but that never will be my choice to make. I think aside from learning to think for yourself, learning to let others learn about thinking for themselves can be harder. No matter how wise and knowledgable one gets, no one is the absolute authority. That will always include myself. Life does not fit neatly in our human labels. Just because we limit our perspectives on things, does not mean reality is limited to our perspectives.
Belief is comfortable because uncertainty is scary. We've evolved to find safety within our comfort zones and our beliefs, which are our comprehensive perceptions of the world are within that. However, seekers of truth do not hold on too strongly to one worldview and are open to having themselves challenged.
Why I had to move out of my parent's house and get my own apt. I love them and their support but it was time for me to grow independently and mature as an individual, away from their nest.
Perhaps this is why I've grown to resentful of my parents. The older I get, the less patience I seem to have for their never changing, narrow, deeply imprinted ideas of how reality is, and what it always will be according to them.
@@Isaax That doesn’t mean you should be resentful of them. They’ve nurtured, sheltered, supported, and cared for you. They just have their perception of the truth, and it’s time to find yours. One isn’t better or worse than the other; you guys just have differing views.
@@w00borg34 It's meaningless to tell me that I shouldn't be resentful towards them because of this, I just feel this way and it's outside of my control for as long as I don't move out. And I think I'm better off never assuming reality to be one way and rather continuously shaping it as is suggested in the video. Perhaps that's why colliding with my parents limited worldview is so frustrating to me, exactly because I no longer comfort to any one set way to view a thing, or attempt to anyway
@@Isaax I understand your point, because I felt the same. But I found out that carrying resentment towards them will only bring you down, and hurt you. There is no advantage on this. We have to forgive, and stop trying to change them, as we will never be able to do that. It is all about letting go, and exchanging that energy of resentment into something good for you, your dreams. Also, trying to focus on their good qualities will help you overcome this negative feeling.
Thank you so much. I have trouble with confidence and self-trust. I always seem to think I'm wrong and seek validation, even though I'm right most of the time. Now, before the 8th grade exams (in Romania) I'm trying to start to believe in myself and my abilities more. I just need to practice staying focused, organising myself better and really achieving that inner balance. To let you know how low my confidence is: I've had BREAKDOWNS that would go on for at least an hour just because I couldn't figure out an exercise in my homework. Then, when it seemed I failed, the bad thoughts would discourage me even more
My take on this is that at some point you'll need to stop asking how things are or how they should be, of course we need solid foundations on how things work when we are young, but as we grow older we develop as individuals our necessities and taste change from one another, they get so specific that you can look at the same thing but the other person will tell you that it's total different thing, that what are you seeing is false, but you should trust yourself, by this time in my life I've had a few mentors and comparing them they had extremely opposite takes on life and in their vision of life they were living the life they wanted (and they were doing well by their own terms), at this point in my life I won't bother to ask someone else "how is it?" or "how it should be?" I'd rather try it myself by my own terms without asking permission of anyone (and please don't take it the wrong way, I'm not talking about doing illegal stuff or being an a-hole), I'm saying that in this era of "gurus" you are not looking at the answer you are looking at his/her experiences and memories, that's not your truth, because you're not them and they don't know deep down to the core your strengths, your necessities, your taste, they haven't walked in your shoes for at least one minute, that's why I no longer ask people how it should be, because at the end of the day once you've heard enough bull from people you'll realize that everyone has a different take on "how it should be" make sure that is YOUR take and not someone else's.
I had the problem of being scared of doing something wrong and getting some sort of punishment for it (not meaning jail or beating, but more like being told off by a teacher or what ever), but nowadays I'm much more comfortable trying stuff without asking first, just flowing on, doing my thing and seeing for myself how it goes... I just ask myself "what is the worst that could happen anyway? :D", This development has made me bit more cocky or arrogant in certain situations, but I do prefer it to the shy silent pussy I used to be
This is something I too realized the older I got. The world is also too complicated to have everyone explain everything all the time, that's something I realized only after I finished school and became an adult
This philosophy is helping me find solace in the fact that I have moved on from my PhD and PhD advisor. I can hardly overstate how much trust and confidence I have in him, but I guess this immense trust could begin to hurt my own development as a scientist. It’s generally true in science that tenure is only given to those who have published studies with a broad range of other scientists, and not only their PhD advisor. How can you develop your own understanding otherwise? I still miss my PhD advisor a lot but at least now I have a better understanding of the importance of the separation. Many thanks!

This really helps shed light on what’s going on in present day politics in the US. I notice many people follow the philosophies and values of “their side” and so when it comes time to discuss issues and topics as individuals, they can’t. They’re just regurgitating what they were taught by “their side”. No one is constructing their individual maps so there’s no possibility in discussing topics openly and developing a view of the world together. Great video.

@@Yusa_Beach You're right, but in the case of Nietzsche, he WAS an intellectual; educated and a great thinker, on top of that with highly original ideas.
@@mikemodano863 Like i said, Yes he was educated and all, not discredicting his work, however He's just a person who was maybe delusional at that time (Because no one knows if someone else would have thought of the same thing) This is exactly what the video means when it comes to being a believer rather than a debater. Everyome sees him as an intellectual, great thinker with a high cognitive brain. It's what limits one view in trying to see reality. If you're curious abouy what im saying, I'll post my original comment here on what i said about the video to try to see how see to see reality in different ways.
@@mikemodano863 I think it's what one tries to do anything. By trying to find something you automatically limit your view when trying to figure out what you want to define, desire, try to do anything, and try to not do all those things to what i just suggested one would want to do. Ex: You could define life as really simple and you could be wrong or you could say it's complex and also be possibly incorrect. "Maybe" just might or might not be the word. Yes or no, Or maybe both "yes" or both "no". It is like a contradiction you could say, but by saying that it is what could also not be true (Like i said, limiting ones view). A better way of explaining it is that, it "could" be anything while it "couldn't" be anything. "It" (implying reality) is just "is" and when you try to define "it". You start to see different things And i think this was what Nietzsche was trying to say (But also not trying to say if you understand what I mean). I guess another way of putting it if you're still confused. Is lets take "yes" and "no" for example. When someone asks you something lets say they want something from you. And if i asked you is that true you would probably say "Yes" or if you thought something different then "no" Someone could say "Yes and no" but what if it was NOT "yes and no" (This is what I mean). It's somethung you probability couldn't even think of since even the langauge you speak can limit your type of view of how reality can be. When it comes to being a believer or ddebater, usually when someone who can't see how you see reality in a way that incorporates what you see is deemed intellegent, a genius or whatever. It's what makes you believe what they're saying. And then that's how you end up as a follower.
This is something I realized in school: you don't learn if you don't ask questions, ponder about these "dumb" topics on your own, establish your values and priorities first. You start by following the teacher/schoolbook/etc. first and everything seems boring and unnecessary, but as you grow, you need to find the info on your own, in order to UNDERSTAND your material. By age 16 I would get invited to classes to present complex quantum physics topics to students and I've yet seen them understand any of the topic. This is a wonderful video
"Follow no one, trust yourself," is relatable to the Bergson's intuitive method of inquiring reality, to which he called the 'pure duration' and the 'Elan Vital'. Thanks for jogging my thinking towards the phenomenology of the self.

My drivers instructer told me something that made me alot less anxious when learning to drive: - Getting a drivers license wont make you an expert, just good enough so you can discover and learn by yourself in practice. I felt that this is relatable, where most look for explainations and truth, they find captured moments of someone elses experience, at a different time, and thus cant apply it to their own reality, but if you instead use it as a guide, general understanding of how things work, you can go out and experience it for yourself and then form your own capture of a momentary experience in your life, and hopefully many more.
the information in this video is eye-opening. I watch this video a couple years ago. I did not understand it then. Now, I see it after (unconsciously) become an inquirer myself. I hope this video will reach a lot more people and I hope everyone of you understand it and be an inquirer yourself.

This is true. I feel a dissonance when people talk about psychedelics (or pretty much anything) in a scientific level perspective but have never really experienced it.
As the mystics- religiously or nontheistically have all said. They've all said that they can only give pointers. Transcendence is only the result of an individual following pointers until none are of use, or needed. One walks this edge oneself. Maybe tomorrow 😀
As someone who is on the spectrum, I highly value taking the time to actually grow listening to this lesson. Through the video & like minded individuals in the comment community looking for what they also desire.. I feel renewed.
I get that, usually the comments are trash, but sometimes you come across something like this. As a truth seeker, I can agree with this video, it's not about being right or following the leader, but to observe the world in your eyes, and to learn on your time. Schools take that away, the ability to critically think, it doesn't matter if your answer is correct, you got to it the wrong way! Instead of grouping us all together, and expect everyone to come out the same, give us accomodations? Lol neurotypicals are blind.
This video really hit home with me because I have lived this experience in my personal life, and thinking freely, critically while trying to figure out the truth can be extremely painful. I used to be just like everybody else. I watched the news, listened to politicians, the media, the medical industry, all the official sources about the best way to think and live. At some point, I got tired of being lied to so these entities could profit off of me, fool me into believing what they wanted, and ruining my health. When I started to question all of these people is when life started making a lot more sense. Now I question everything and everybody, have learned multiple lies that I have been told, and yet, if I tell people how some entity is lying to them so they can profit off you, control you, or keep you stupid, nobody listens to a word I say... The truth is that 80 plus percent of people are just born to be followers, regardless of intelligence or I.Q. They don't ever develop critical thinking skills, never question official sources, and never put 2 and 2 together to see why their health is so bad, their lives suck or their social institutions are failing them. Most people are too lazy, willfully ignorant or just too physically sick to use their brains to think for themselves, and the controlling interests in our society COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND THIS AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS! I love this👏🏻 came to the same realization myself... Many people spend their life believing and following someone elses idea of enlightenment and freedom without actually experiencing it themselves. Its like spedning your life reading self help books, its all good in thought but we dont truly experience it untill we put the book down and transfer the skills into reality. Far too many people waste their life seeking the truth off other people who themselves are lost seeing the truth.. the harsh reality is that many of these "enlightened" UA-camrs🤥 have no idea what theyre preaching and are so lost they dont even realise
This is so extremely relevant with what's going on in the world. A huge group of people is blindly believing and following the "experts" without even trying to find their own perception of the truth, and another huge set of people have rejected the experts only to find other "experts" to blindly follow. A few months back I realized I was in that second camp and started truly doing my own research (which is not always easy, a s I'm not a scientist/politician and can't always clearly figure out what's going on without going through some biased source--but it's something we ALL need to do.) If we all do this, then we can come together and discuss our findings in a civilized fashion until we reach some semblance of a shared reality...one day. It may be a long, hard road, but I think we'll get there as more people realize how necessary self-autonomy, self-discovery, and intuition are. Thanks for this video!
That's literally what human beings have been doing for thousands of years, only to have it all tossed in the blender in less than 20 odd years with the invention of the internet. 🤦🏼♂️
People who reject the "experts" are usually labeled as conspiracy theorists most of the information they get are not coming from other "experts" it generally comes from people who have inquiring minds who have challenged many root assumptions....They are not biased sources they have knowledge to share...You don't need to be a "scientist" what you need is an open critically thinking mind and some willingness to research....Once you have achieved some enlightenment some things are just so blatantly obvious...
very true, the instinct to follow is powerful, the 'experts' demanded we follow and so we rejected them, only to meet others with similar goals, it's exhausting, especially since it seems the resources for finding the truth for ourselves were significantly scarce or actively suppressed. Of course hiding truth is not an effective way to convince a free thinker.
Very wise...we must all try and look at both sides as the truth is usually somewhere in the middle! The mind is like a parachute it must remain open for it to work properly 🪂

Watching this video has made me contemplate and wonder about the nature of myself and the nature of this world. From the beginning, most of us are taught to follow laws, beliefs, and idealism without the chance of questioning why. You asking why helps you become a curious soul and connect yourself with reality (as the video explains). It helps you see you how beautiful or how fucked up reality is.
*Most great accomplishments were achieved by the people, who at first had no idea what they were doing.* Keep going my friend. I am cheering for you. 🙂
Most people need teachers. Think about five people you know well, and consider which of them would gain knowledge, let alone wisdom, by themselves. Nietzsche frequently refers to the philosopher as a loner, and they are so - but they are a tiny minority.
Even as Inquirers, we still have to take _something_ on faith at _some_ point or another. As humans, we're limited in our time and energy on our own as to what we can inquire about, so we'll have to become Believers to others who can teach or guide us towards the understanding they had found themselves that we couldn't, or didn't, Inquire about. But we _all_ gain knowledge and wisdom over the years on our own. In some way or another. Profound understandings are few and far between, sure, but we're all growing from who we were yesterday.
Agreed, also I don't think Nietzche meant it as an absolute, all encompassing truth, very few of those exist eg death, that's an absolute truth for all people. Not much else
Our direct experience with this thing called life is the teacher, the only teach there has ever been. Sometimes it may take the form of another human but even then it is less them teaching you something and more your ability to grasp what's being taught. If we fixate our attention on a question, the entire reality will conspire to give you the answer. The real goal then is not to limit the form the answer will come in.
I was an everyday couch potato once at the start of my preteens, then I chose to be a devote of a guy who preached self improvement. However after a while I still found myself suffering, because I wasn’t true to myself. It was a good starting point but not everyone’s lifestyles should be the same. Slowly I began doing things my way and I found greater inner peace. It was a hard thing to become my own capable thinker, challenging his perspectives made me feel wrong and constantly doubtful of myself, but I am glad I let myself do so because I really you can’t shove everyone into a box. As an example, I strictly follow his routine of exercising in the morning, and whatever else it entailed, but it was immensely stifling to my own freedom, while I still do good habits as such, I do them the way I want and like to and that has allowed me greater motivation and peace.

I went from being religious, to being spiritual, to now seeing that those two are of the same coin called "seeking". Life is playing hide and seek. It hides as everything, and then we go off on this journey to seek it. As a person, I feel more and more isolated on this journey for truth because I realize people will latch on to things for security, get off a few stops too early from the train.
Don't be trapped alone. Some people have sought the truth. Learning from the honest thinkers that sought the truth (from their rights and mistakes) doesn't mean you're mindlessly "follow" them, but you cannot possibly figure it out everything on your own. Maybe the video hints a bit that you actually can figure everything out on your own. That's not true, however.
Watch "Awakening from the meaning crisis" series by John Vervaeke, here on UA-cam. It contextualizes the human nature of seeking meaning across history. Among other interesting topics...
@@fede0101 that looks very interesting and very profound. I think nihilism and existentialism are in part to blame about said meaning crisis, so I'm curious to Vervaeke's insight about that.
Born in a religious ambient, left that, started my own path, infinite existential crisis, went from science to philosophy (also eastern thought) to psychology to esotericism (also Cabala). All alone but sometimes with unexpected encounters and strange discussions. Yes the real world seems like a desert, seems that I can find "inspiration" only in internet and books. But other times I feel like I have fear to wear the symbols of my path. Maybe people hide them too.
The last couple of days I've been feeling bitter and resentful, partially at things in my life that have become pathological, but also that some of my beliefs and assumptions about the world are showing weakness. Resentful of what I've become, but also confused that nobody around me sees the same world that I do, I've been ruminating and sobbing at my inability to escape. I guess it's time for me to move on then, to pick up the most useful tools that I've acquired in this period of belief and to face something else. You can't step into the same river twice.
you are you at your core, no matter what beliefs you have or what things you attach to yourself. I hope you can find your way out of the existential pain.
This could have help me when I was younger. To learn how connections can come to an end in order to grow. Even if it means to grow apart from each other.
This reminds me of an old saying.... "it's like a finger pointing a way to the moon.. don't concentrate on the finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory" (ok I think this comes from the -Tao Te Ching- but the quote was made famous in recent times by Bruce Lee) map of the farm land = finger point a way to the moon the land itself = the moon So when Zarathustra tells his followers to stop following him... he's right. Because he sees the folks following him concentrating too much on his words and not the actual truth (which cannot be fully expressed/verbalized accurately because it must be felt.. experienced..) EDIT: man my memory is playing tricks on me here I was wrong as to which Taoist text this quote came from. No the quote is not from the Tao Te Chi.
@@leemansuleiman5907 maybe I got my source wrong as to where that story came from.. I know it wasn't Bruce who originally stated this but it was said by one of various Taoist sages of old. It's been a few years since I've read Tao Te Ching at length so my mind may be doing that Mandala Effect on me. but Bruce Lee actually did state this in a movie (I even looked up the clip to be 100% sure of the exact wording he used). Memory issues aside the point still stands on the rest of it.
I've looked for answers like many to life's questions, but this is the first time I've thought (because of your video) about followers and believers. To me this is both simple and profound - it is actually very apparent and intuitive BUT I actually often follow when I think "I'm thinking for myself". There is a subtlety where I fear being wrong and unsure of things, I look for foundation and something to guide me. I find it in the teachings and wisdom of others, I learn and integrate it (as did the traveler). It is the last part of where the farmer says to part ways, and the essence of this video, that I never notice...that I never leave. Being a believer led me to trust too much, false promises and empty words - advice that is hollow. All because I didn't verify and find out what worked for me or if it were true. This story perfectly illustrates what is less obvious in the world...following a mentor, following textbooks, following good advice and others. Where we never move on and become inquisitive again. Thank you for this video and your channel, it's been very helpful!
*THANK YOU* !!! Someone I used to follow blindly my whole life sent me your YT channel. Now I understand why this person suddenly "abandoned" me and why I felt I was on my own. I guess it was time for me to grow up, alone but more connected to reality. Thank you ! (maybe this is not the real reason, but it feels good anyway :D) Have a nice day everyone ~ !
Following someone is following their view of reality and life through their experiences and has no guarantee that their reality is correct if you don’t prove it to yourself in some way or another. when you communicate with someone and you both share your own realities, Instead of people agreeing on one imperfect persons view of life it helps form the truth
I think social media is hazardous because of this exact reason. It is so easy to lose your ability to think and find yourself flowing in a river and can't do anything. My opinion is people should restrict their accesses to social media and even they access, they should never start to accept what one person says and be obsessed with it, otherwise the sense of truth from our understandings will be replaced and there will be just emptiness.

Follow Christ
"There's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path."
This is what I mean by "we'll wake up and we'll go back to sleep when we want to".

Ex:
You could define life as really simple and you could be wrong or you could say it's complex and also be possibly incorrect.
And if i asked you is that true you would probably say "Yes" or if you thought something different then "no"
Someone could say "Yes and no" but what if it was NOT "yes and no" (This is what I mean).
“ it is your road and yours alone, others may walk it with you, but no one can walk it for you”. Rumi
SOOO POWERFULLY AND BEAUTIFULLY SAID!

As an example, I strictly follow his routine of exercising in the morning, and whatever else it entailed, but it was immensely stifling to my own freedom, while I still do good habits as such, I do them the way I want and like to and that has allowed me greater motivation and peace.
It is in self peace where you find true happiness
@Snow Crystal as humans emotions are key to us we thrive on human interactions and temporary joy! To everyone reading this success is in your path!
I just started with his book beyond good and evil but I love hearing peoples perspectives of his work
*_A talk with my friends told me this._*
*_You are the ultimate teacher, the ultimate one who decides your destiny. Only you decide your life. Others are but guides. If theirs cannot align with you, simply leave them alone._*
*_And I said that we used to be together... but then we drifted apart because of different ideology. I believe that's how humanity became divided among themselves, instead of working as a single collective species._*
“No one can construct for you the bridge upon which precisely you must cross the stream of life, no one but you yourself alone.”― Friedrich Nietzsche
I love this! As someone who has asked, "Why?", and not gotten satisfactory answers, this speaks to me! ❤🤯❤
I’m so much like this that I have trouble trusting others. My doubt of others has hurt our relationships. If anything, I’m trying to listen and learn from their truth more. But it is just that... THEIR truth.
Such a fresh and simple perspective to look at things. Thank you for sharing this!
Wow. I don't know what I have to offer but the person who made this is very wise
Read the book thus spoke Zarathustra its more interesting
This title hit me hard as i've often seen things coming but i chose to trust what others see rather to blieve in my feelings and often i regret to not have followed my inner voice
I felt this
@@fede0101 that looks very interesting and very profound.
Brilliant app is actually pretty good.
I never comment on those things but that is one I enjoy!
Saudações de um BR para o outro!
Thanks, I’m just downloading it because of this comment.
What app?

"it's like a finger pointing a way to the moon.. don't concentrate on the finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory" (ok I think this comes from the -Tao Te Ching- but the quote was made famous in recent times by Bruce Lee)
map of the farm land = finger point a way to the moon
the land itself = the moon
So when Zarathustra tells his followers to stop following him... he's right. Because he sees the folks following him concentrating too much on his words and not the actual truth (which cannot be fully expressed/verbalized accurately because it must be felt.. experienced..)
EDIT: man my memory is playing tricks on me here I was wrong as to which Taoist text this quote came from. No the quote is not from the Tao Te Chi.
Not sure if it actually belongs to Bruce lee but 100% that statement is NOT from the Tao te Ching
This is powerful. We must seek out the truth ourselves
Wonderful. Thank you for this. Blessings be upon you.

Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life.

@@bornagainluis What a revelation. The book about Jesus also claims he’s the only path. The truth requires no belief, no faith, it just is.
@@ipatch9651 The bible says seek God. it also explains in its own way the truth.
I've always felt it is important to have a sense of critical thinking, or as you mention, inquiring about stuff. Verify stuff that can be verified in logical ways and let the rest to faith and destiny. But don't skip on obvious important things that are usually taken for granted like believing that your life should follow the template of society.
For office worker, or someone who work in an organization:
When we started to impress someone for benefit of his/her attention, that is when we should go.
Best advice I've heard on the internet. Don't conform to the ways of people and the ways. Of the world. Be transformed by renewing your mind. Question all authority.
Wow wisdom in a simple place in the nick of time love it
