+Keith Richards keith richards is a copy cat and seriously over rated. I hope thats not your standard for a guitar player. his skill is remedial compared to these guys.
What I love about Tommy is that he is always willing to share what ke knows with anyone he meets, and as he shows here, ego is not an issue when he shares... Mark of not only a great player, but a good person.
This is my favorite situation to listen to and play guitar. Sitting in someone's studio or living room or front porch and sharing ideas and jamming. It feels so much more free, without an audience. I suppose to a degree, that's selfish, but for me true. These guys are the absolute top of the heap in that regard. This is priceless.
They make it seem so easy and it is to them. Both amazing guitarists . Been wrestling with the guitar for decades and have something in common with this pair; but its only as far as opening the guitar case, - after that the comparisons end. Well joyful to watch and joyful to be.
Yes I know the feeling well, so I just keep practicing what I know, and get better at it, now I'm Gradually getting better, Slow is Fast, and gradually you get better then you expand, and repeat that process 😊😊😊
1st time listening to Juber. I was always pretty sure Tommy would turn up sometime. Two great players having a good time and sharing it with us...bum notes and all. Very real.
I'm glad these moments were captured. I'm a musician but I have a family of 6 and a full time job. Very little time for practice. I get immense satisfaction seeing the very best of the very best jamming and having a good time. Kinda makes up for not having the time I'd like to grow in my own music. Keeps my mind churning anyway. Always love Tommy. Such a nice guy and so talented. I always refer to him as the best guitar player in the world. Amazing music!!
Oh My Goodness That was rare air. It’s like they literally couldn’t put the guitars away. Laurence didn’t even mess around when he saw the opportunity to jam, literally RAN to get his instrument. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS!!
This is the essence of where UA-cam's worth is really manifest. A sneak peek at world-class musicians playing in a relaxed environment. A genuine rare treat.
Just incredible!!! Two masters interacting so fully respectfully of each other and their incredible musicianship. Beautiful!! And then there is the music itself so effortlessly being made.
Thank you for posting this, and thank you Tommy and Laurence for letting it go out to us in "cyberland". We don't often get a chance to hear this kind of stuff. It makes me happy. :)
True story: I own a Martin Laurence Juber model and one day I was at Guitar Center and to my amazement LJ was there in the acoustic room so I had to meet him. The nicest guy ever and when I told him “hey I own one of your guitars” he said “Well I want it back! “ Great moment and have a picture with him to boot - also if you’ve never seen Tommy play live you’re missing a lot. Two amazing musicians and yes, a tour would be incredible!!
Sheesh! These guys start humming at each other and playing a few notes then hit a couple of chords and BAM the electricity takes over and they are off and running communicating by humming and nodding when they got it without saying any real words. Absolute genius at work! Just love it.
Thanks! I've been a long time fan of LJ and only found out about Tommy Emmanuel through this video a few months ago. As luck turns out, Tommy is touring in my home town in January 2017 so can't wait to see him. I do love this video- the effortlessness with which they play and their enthusiasm is inspiring
What's up with that undulating distortion -- like it's being projected onto wobbly Mylar sheet. Using the LSD drug effect filter? :-) Great behind the scenes look. I so admire them both. Rare treat.
Looks like video image stabilization. It picks a few interesting pixels and tries to keep them in the same place, even though the (handheld) camera is shaking, so the world shifts around it. Great video, all the same; I love to see them having fun while making that incredible music.
Kinda cool how Tommy was saying it was originally played. Your mind just kind of puts the "missing" notes in there anyway. I wonder if that would be the same if I hadn't heard the more contemporary versions first. This is awesome. Two MAGNIFICENT musicians goofing around.
The best instrumentals I've heard have been 2 guitars playing off each other, one playing harmony and the other melody, then switching roles. Doesn't matter the style, at all. Surf, blues, jazz, rock, it just works. Hint to players out there, nothing else acoustically sounds like this.
I always love to hear Tommy play the less bombastic things he so seldom gets to share because everyone seems to expect that from him. He has such beautiful feel for the instrument and can coax such deep emotion from it when allowed to. The pyrotechnics are fine - just overemphasized IMO.
Had the pleasure of sitting down and doing an impromptu jam with these two gentlemen (and Ritchie Sambora who was out after one tune) much like this. Tommy said. Man, that is a loud Martin, Lawrence, a Martin endorser, says "well, they're making em right these days" so I sez.. well, Tommy, you do have a soundhole plug (for controlling feedback) in your Maton mate (he and the other 2 were about to go on) probably should have kept that to myself
I definitely know what Tommy is saying about that Gibson guitar - had one in the 80’s ( it was Gibson’s answer to the Ovation , and I don’t know what happened, but they were obviously made by some really good luthiers , because they were magical guitars !! Mine , unfortunately was stolen around 92 , I believe ... someone just lifted it from the stage at a gig we were playing and walked out the door ... I think I cried ...
Laurence Juber. CRITICALLY underrated.
For sure.. top 5 or 10 in the world.
at ping pong
Laurence Juber. Unnecessary theatrics.
+Keith Richards keith richards is a copy cat and seriously over rated. I hope thats not your standard for a guitar player. his skill is remedial compared to these guys.
Juber's a freaking monster.
No egos between these two greats, just passion of music and how they can contribute!
What I love about Tommy is that he is always willing to share what ke knows with anyone he meets, and as he shows here, ego is not an issue when he shares... Mark of not only a great player, but a good person.
Amen!
Chuck Parshall definitely
Chuck Parshall his brother was the same way , May he RIP
It's an Aussie thing.... And yep, Phil was the same. Legends of the instrument...
He is a down to earth Aussie that's why. We are proud of him.
that's like 90% of the world's acoustic guitar talent packed in one room
Like two friends throwing candy at each other....a joy to watch and hear....thank you both so much!
What a privilege and an insight to any young musician watching these two masters having a jam!!
🐬💓🎸 Ти привет брат!!!
Tommy starts playing Django and Huber immediately picks up a guitar. Thanks power of Django
I love Tommy's last comment..."Yeah man, you've got a lot to say in there...." Laurence, "well, next time...." LOVE IT!
Two of the great talents on an acoustic guitar. I'm so pleased to see and hear these guys trade licks. Thrilling!!!!
They make it seem so easy and it is to them. Both amazing guitarists . Been wrestling with the guitar for decades and have something in common with this pair; but its only as far as opening the guitar case, - after that the comparisons end. Well joyful to watch and joyful to be.
I was once compared to Tommy Emmanuel; they said, "Compared to Tommy Emmanuel, you're crap!" ....
Yes I know the feeling well, so I just keep practicing what I know, and get better at it, now I'm Gradually getting better, Slow is Fast, and gradually you get better then you expand, and repeat that process 😊😊😊
Superb. Someone buy them a guitar strap, please.
Russ Ferris lololol
If this is completely impromtu, well it's scary. These guys are from another planet.
+Stephen Powell yeah earth!
shure both arranged the titles before......
What really impresses me is his mastery of a great many styles from Blues, Bluegrass to Jazz and back again...
Nope the planet of "no guitar strap" Tommy never even looked like maybe was gonna drop.
Django!!!😎😎😎
Masterful, beautiful and unique. When the instrument was created
this is what the universe had imagined for it.
Way beyond GREAT!!
Breathtakingly hilariously amazing! This is the top shelf of all jams. Django is smiling somewhere and waiting.
What is so cool, these guys are walking around standing no straps and produce this master work, truly amazing.
Love these two! I've been fortunate to have met them both. What truly personable great fellas! I've also learned to play a few of each of their songs.
Love that style of music...makes you feel like sipping barcardi and coke on an island resort somewhere. You can see Tommy's passion for guitar.
Better still, put on the music of Django Reinhardt, (which it was).
1st time listening to Juber. I was always pretty sure Tommy would turn up sometime. Two great players having a good time and sharing it with us...bum notes and all. Very real.
This is just about the most fantastic impromptu jam I've heard. Instant empathy and chemistry. Hot club de France vibes.
Luv and Peace.
If you love guitar, you love Django. Thanks to Tommy, Laurence and you for letting us in on this.
God! To have a full record of these two together. Sublime!
I wish these two greats would tour together! That would be so great!
To right what a show
Awesome, two fabulous musicians
Correct 👍

I have been coming back to this video for some years now. The chemistry between these two musicians is fantastic.
Как же это, красиво. Два человека заняты любимым делом. Музыка, ты как ☀️ солнце! А лучики твои , на гитарах передёргивают лады.
Oh
My
Goodness
That was rare air.
It’s like they literally couldn’t put the guitars away.
Laurence didn’t even mess around when he saw the opportunity to jam, literally RAN to get his instrument.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS!!
So wonderful
I really enjoyed that.... Love both those guys... Crazy Talent...
These guys don't often get to play with someone who can do what they do......Respect....
One of the finest moments in humanity.
Canada20

My two favourite acoustic guitar players
Two masters going at it....very cool! BTW, at 7:00 that's a kick drum head signed by all four Beatles....nice piece of swag that is.
is it a picture ?
Just saw Juber tonight-Wow.I've been a fan of Tommy's for years.Ahhh the two of them together is amazing.
Thank you for posting this, and thank you Tommy and Laurence for letting it go out to us in "cyberland". We don't often get a chance to hear this kind of stuff. It makes me happy. :)
Perry Mike makes me happy too my friend
@@froter1 It's an AOL vintage Me too from me too.
Luv and Peace.

i played a LJ model one day for about 5 minutes, and regret to this day that I didn't buy it. Finest guitar this lame-ass acoustic player ever played!
This is amazing ❤
Laurence and Tommy could make that blue vacuum cleaner sound heavenly!
Me too.
Sheesh! These guys start humming at each other and playing a few notes then hit a couple of chords and BAM the electricity takes over and they are off and running communicating by humming and nodding when they got it without saying any real words. Absolute genius at work! Just love it.
Tommy don't need no strap! Love him and Chet.
love to see that passion in their eyes and the constantly interest in learning new stuff.. (y)
This is what the world, life, is about. Living in a harmonious, peaceful, loving free moment in time
Brilliant!! absolutely love this video - two consummate musicians enjoying themselves.
Two AMAZING players. Love them both.
Just so good. LOve the style and sound.
Sweetness to the soul
LoL Tommy plays like 300 concerts a year...and still cant put down the guitar. lol
lol
If I had the same skills.. i dont think I would either
Should spend more time with his family like Roger Hodgson!
Two greats! That was superb!
To the thumbs down -- What, ... you didn't like the curtains?!
it's called self loathing.
One day my lad, all this will be your,s , what the curtains, no my lad, all this.
Magnificent!...and real real to boot.
Holy Crap. Very inspirational.
If I'm ever feeling down this makes me happy. Two of my favourite guitarists
That might be one of the nicest comments ever.... so glad to hear it!

Awesome, prepare to be amazed! Tommy is fantastic, I am going to see him live again in January 2017, too.
Yeah beautiful!
freaking brilliant guys
It just doesn't get any better!
once i saw juber go for his axe, i knew it was gonna be good
Careful With That Axe, Laurence
What a treat. Thank you.
That was amazing!
This is what it's like to be a fly on the wall. Magic!
They were playing Django, who had to play with 2 fingers on his left hand. That's amazing.
What a treat.
Very fantastic...
They are both just ridiculous. Love it!
Fantastic! Thanks!
I did not know they were both so proficient with a pick as well. Love This video.
What's up with that undulating distortion -- like it's being projected onto wobbly Mylar sheet. Using the LSD drug effect filter? :-) Great behind the scenes look. I so admire them both. Rare treat.

Interesting techno-nugget. I guess fully automated has its drawbacks. Anyway, like you implied -- who cares when you have these lads playing about.
This makes me smile.
Absolutely awesome guitarists.
God bless youtube!
Kinda cool how Tommy was saying it was originally played. Your mind just kind of puts the "missing" notes in there anyway. I wonder if that would be the same if I hadn't heard the more contemporary versions first. This is awesome. Two MAGNIFICENT musicians goofing around.
Piękna melodia.Wspaniałe funkcjie.

Just jamming. Love it.
Is this CG because Tommy ain't playing it the way I showed him.
I got it.. LMAO
Damn, that Kalamazoo sounds SWEET!
How come these masters just decided to have a jam together? Hi mate nice guitar . Have you heard of django? Do you like my guitar. Boom
Tommy is such a beautiful human being. God bless him.
Wish God would bless those that really need it instead .
Bloody awesome ❤️❤️❤️
Haha 5 LOSERS thumbed this down!!! If you don't get this, cut your ears off - you don't need them :)))
It's jealousy. Nothing else.
M Carter exactly
two of the best.
quelle classe ! que de facilités ! une vrai jouissance !
TE , does Django so so well, Love the Kalamazoo
ahhh....nothing like some guitar porn to start the morning off on a good note......
I always love to hear Tommy play the less bombastic things he so seldom gets to share because everyone seems to expect that from him. He has such beautiful feel for the instrument and can coax such deep emotion from it when allowed to. The pyrotechnics are fine - just overemphasized IMO.
And also that guitar does sound fantastic.
My two favorite acoustic guitarists.
He's playing Wednesday night, April 17 at The Write Off Room in Woodland Hills, CA!
greats mixing with greats
I would just love to live next door to both them. wow what a dream. two master musicians.
Two masters.
What a way to live
Wow wee. Gonna share this one to all the Tea Timers for Workshop Wednesday With LJ

I'm not a jazz guy at all but holy shit these guys are good. Wow
