We had a big opportunity to show Lava Guitars to one of the greatest guitarists, guitar virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel. Very inspiring moment for me as a creator of Lava Guitars. Hear how great virtuoso plays! Year 2017, Vilnius/Lithuania.
This video is made not for advertisement bases. It just shows the great player opinion about these handcrafted instruments.
About Tommy Emmanuel: tommyemmanuel.com
I’m sure it’s a great guitar, but Tommy can make a ketchup bottle sound good!
This a perfect example of why I say shredders suck. They play with NO FEELING! Tommy can blow you away with speed as well. But at the same time he makes it sound beautiful. He feels every single note
dont insult me, im a shredder...I also watch TMNT
@@tridang4714 lmao I don't even know you fool so please don't get so butt hurt about what I said. What I said is 99% truth. Guys considered to be the top shredders in the world such as Satriani, Malmsteen, Vai are all great guitar players and phenomenal shredders but they really don't play with any feeling IMO. The play guitar for the speed. Go on UA-cam and you can find as many shredders as you want. They all do the same thing. Rip scales as fast as possible up n down the neck. To me that's not impressive
I agree. So many shredders just seem to think the only things that matter are speed, scale noodling at high speed, fretboard gymnastics, ultra high speed runs, harmonics, octave jumps and general wankalotting. There ARE a few who are able to combine shred with feeling and an interesting melodic line, but the others just strike me as self-obsessed narcissists. I recently saw an upload about someone who had spent an alledged 10,000 hours learning to play a shred that was so godawful it sounded like a cat being disemboweled with a garden fork. Someone like TE shows them all up for what they are.
Neal Schon is great example too
He proves he can wail with any lead player ever.. Wonder how many of those great lead players can come close to him on acoustic?
Tommy Emmanuel is the best guitar player I've ever seen... By the way, thumbs up for this young guy Rapolas Gražys from Lithuania. He is a creator of these "Lava Drops" beautys... ;)
So good to hear him play on a very good electric.... wish he would do it more on stage. That is some kind of great sound in Lava Guitars....
Dave Webster thank you for a good words!
Dave Webster you should hear his brother play electric , even better when they both play together ,incredible
Heard! incredible!
Have a listen to his determination album. Some great electric songs on that👍
Wurthit 123 or The Journey / Terra Firma album. His collaborations with phil are amazing in general
Tommy makes any guitar sound great!
Great advice for any luthiers promoting their brand get Tommy Emanuel to test it as he can make any guitar sound amazing.
Good tone in that axe. Tommy E is as always stellar.
tone..all in the fingers.. amazing playing
This is what they meant when they said tone is in the hands 👏👏👏👏
Those guitars sound great and with TE playing them I thought they might burst into flames at any minute! I am always amazed at how large Tommy's hands are - great for playing guitar. The old saying about a man with large hands, he owns big gloves ...... ha, ha!
I don't see Tommy play electric much. But he's great. His brother Phil played electric a lot. RIP Phil.
Wow that amp sound killer too!
Tommy gots it all, amazing how much grace he extends to us...
I used to regularly catch Tommy and Phil at the “Bondi Astra” way back , it was continuous guitar duels. I remember Tommy on his tip toes in a high piece, thoroughly immersed in the climax, when Phil would just pull his lead out. Tommy just used to give Phil the brotherly “Death Stare”.
Mee too
That's hilarious 😆💕
I miss his electric playing, his early albums are timeless.
Pity camera man didn't get more front on shots so we could see the guitars properly
We are sorry that you could not see the guitar front. We had a quick opportunity to meet Tommy in his daily schedule. It was not planned to make a good quality video but we have done our best to make that happen. Next time we will do as best as we could to have all the material.
Please look at this video where you can see and hear more of the Lava Drop + the Sapele unibody model

Hiding from Aliexpress guys
Hey Lava Guitars that tone is absolutely beautiful!!!!!! I love Fenders and Gibsons and that thing covers both worlds!!!
Mick Brenton thank you. We are making Lava Drops Guitars as much versatile as possible. Take a look at our internet page to know more

Best damn endorsement you can get
Had to smile when Tommy was riffing ACDC. :)
Yes, the Blackstar sounds awesome.
this axe and amp sound great, and i'm eternally grateful to hear tommy play like this. but holy crap i've never seen worse lookin guitars in my life. wtf are you doing lava?
great guitar and great player
They called me in to test the case 👀
I was thinking these guitars give off that Robben Forde sound and then Tommy starts playing some Robben Forde. Legend.
6:15 that lick is Robben Ford - Revelation good track didn't know Tommy Emmanuel Listen to Robben Ford cool thanks for posting
Tommy is the absolute MAN. I hope there was some Waynes World-esque "WE'RE NOT WORTHY" before this was recorded.
Always generous with his time can't imagen a lot rock star types taking their time to do something like this when they're on the fly.
A bit of Robben Ford @6:15 - NICE.
Sounds fantastic,
If they're your own pickups,
they sound amazing..
Robert Falconer thank you! First guitar with boutique Lace Alumitone humbuckers, the second one with Seymour Duncan custom JB models
Great little amp too.
Would of been nice to actually see the guitar, tommy knows his way around any guitar always makes you smile✌
The guitars sound nice and Tommy is the best anyway... But for me the real surprise is that little amp!
Neuroguitarist it's a HT - 1 Combo
Blackstar - best of British amps - better than Marshall in my opinion.
Blackstar 1watt and reverb, great amp from britrock to blues and really nice highgain stuff
Yep sorry Metal dude’s. 4:24 Tommy can also do screaming harmonics better than you too.
OUt of context...and by himself....the guy has a sixth limb and is the guitar. Don't be so snotty, he's not even muting properly. He is been playing since before the Bee Gees were famous and did have an electric guitar hit in the 80s with a Tele but obviously is not used to high gain with distortion.
@@einarabelc5 This word "properly" is open to translation. Chet Atkins, arguably one of the world's best guitar players, stated that his (Chet's) own playing method of using his thumb on the bass string in his earlier years was "not the right way that he was supposed to be playing" and he kept doing it. Years later, it made him famous. Jimmy Paige using a bow on guitar strings wasn't the proper way, either. Tommy Emmanuel is one of just a handful of people that Chet Atkins himself declared "Certified Guitar Players" because they were so good. No metal player or shredder has been vetted by anyone else so talented. They cheat with noise and scales.
nice tone , like a warm tele 👍
The guy on glasses is the definition of excitement 8-)
What a good marriage, love at first sight. 👌🏿👏🏿
Tommy with some gain. Awesome!!!!
sounds great. is that solid rosewood neck? neck thru?
TruthSurge it is Sapele/Mahogany neck-trough with Ebony fingerboard.
i could listen to te noodle on this electric day and night, nice guitar too
Thank you!
Tommy needs to join Bonamassa on a tour. Playing electric of course
Ilove how he plays Robben Fords Revelation :-)
"AWESOME!"
Good enough for Tommy? Good enough for EVERYBODY!
when tommy shows off, he doesnt show off
Tommy is really enjoying himself!!!
He was! And it was so great to see this moment :)
AC/DC part !! yeeeeeaaaa!!
Tribute to Malcolm Young.. Way to go Tommy
The secret to this here is, a very good experienced player can make sound any instrument fantastic. And Tommy is the best guitarist know on this planet since the invention of guitars. Any questions??? But sure, Lava guitars still can be good instruments.
Annd you're so fanatical you actually ignored the comments of the guy you're idolizing...how ironic.
He is right . Wish he would do some more country stuff . With paisley or Brent mason
AHH, he thinks at the last second... That's why you didn't want us to see them... Lol.
wow! awesome!!
Muito bom parabéns vlw mestre Tommy Emmanuel
Oooo, pretty!!!
The Lava seems to be flowin'
Is that a little Blackstar Ht1 amp..?
Robert Falconer yes!! In a wide room with a natural reverb!
Go the Aussie guitarists. Tommy Emmanuel, Nathan Cavaleri, Angus Young. RIP Malcolm Young
If I were you I would make a guitar to give to him, if he loves it he will play it and it would be a good move for Lava guitars...Might be better to make an acoustic though...
Goober tuber one day, Acoustics in the future, now concentrating to electric guitar. Although, Tommy has an electric band.
I was more interested in that Blackstar amp honestly.
Small amp is amazing.... What is it?
They should have filmed the guitar
What the heck does this guitar LOOK LIKE??
Shit. There's a reason it's not shown from the front!
Tommy is the best !
Be nice if he faced the camera, so we can see it and his hands!
sick
Dude you're tall. I think Tommy is already like 1,90 or something. Am I correct on this?
Yes, i think he is around 1,80-1,88. Just a guess
i want that one.
David Boles for more info please write us to info@lava-drops.com
ahhhh i love that fat tone sound.
Watching this guy noodle around on an electric guitar is like watching B.B. King, Brad Paisley, Eddie Van Halen, Chet Atkins, and Les Paul take turns trying to outgun each other. I think he could even give Andrés Segovia a run for his money.
Just in case anyone didn't think he was also the best electric player hahaha
What model lava is this and amp used..
Hi Keith, these were usual Lava Drop double horn version crafted from Sapele model (neck through) and Lava Unibody Drop crafted from Maple wood.
Please visit our page to see all model lineup : lava-drops.com/guitars/
The amp as we remember was a very small Black Star HT 1R tube amp.
как божок босичком по жилочкам,до дрожи в душе..
No one comes close
Koks čia ampas? Blackstar fly3?
Blackstar HT-1R
Couldn't we get a close up?
Phil O'Shaughnessy www.lava-drops.com
What a lucky guitar...
All this "What does it look like" business...tell me, how does it sound in the hands of a master? Any wimp can swing a sword, but a master will make its craftsmanship shine.
Wow! That's almost as good as the Lil' Wayne guitar solo
(Joke)
Terrific playin & Great Tone, but from growing reputation- British -'Blackstar Amps'...
トミーがロベンフォードのRevelation弾いとるやんけ!
I like LAVA Guitars! But it's a shame that you can only see them from the side ...!
NET FLUTER www.lava-drops.com
I guess our ears speak for them selves ))
unfortunately we don't get to look at the guitar
tim warner www.lavaguitars.com
TE on electric!
Used to see him on electric a lot back when he and Phil played together. He can play a Tele like Brent Mason.
Tommys hands are bigger than many peoples arms ... which may go a ways towards explaining why he has more music in one finger than many people have in their entire bodies ...
Lava should try to have him demo the new carbon fiber pro
We do not produce carbon fiber guitars. It is another brand that taked our name.
@@LavaDropsGuitars wow. I assumed the carbon fiber guitars were yours. How does a guitar company use the name Lava when there is already a Lava guitar company?
@@smoorej we do not know how thay can do that. We feel not very pleasant about that. Othervise our full brand name is Lava Drops. We build exclusive one of a kind instruments and not mass produced plastics. You can see more of our works here:
www.lava-drops.com
I would have gave him a lot better amp purhaps a chair or something as you all know when your showing something it needs to be the best...
Is it just me , or has Tommy lost some weight? Never was heavy, but he looks kind of thin. Didn't hurt his guitar playin' none!!
Most people can't even play Tommy's mistakes or stuff like this where he's just fooling around.
Rad
i think the guy should talk a little more
electric has so many more different sounds
Thumbs down cuz the camera angle never really shows the guitar.
Falm to face
Why does he turns into a generic bluesman with an electric?
because its easiest to noodle with and compare tonally
Because he can
Shame an Aussie doesn't know how to play Highway To Hell correctly! Cmon, man. that's just not right!
He's just mucking around dude.
@@brent.johnson but he's from.... AUSTRALIA! You gotta know highway to hell, mon! A A A........ D D G......... D D G... D D G... D A A...... ?
Why bother making a video highlighting a guitar that we can't see. It's like making a car commercial where all you hear is the sound of the engine but never see the car.
Larry Villano you can always look at www.lava-drops.com
Face front
Are these guitars made of real lava, or just Lava soap!🤔
James Pardee we do not use soap in our guitars ;) you can check our guitars at www.lava-drops.com
@@LavaDropsGuitars Well they ARE gorgeous, and they do have a clean look about them! 👍😆🎸🎼🎶🎵♩🎶🎵
Cameraman must like Fenders or Gibsons as he didn't want to show what the Lava`s really looked like! Shame as they sound amazing! :(
Stephen Stone please visit our internet page www.lavaguitars.com to see all the models.
Boffff... We don't see the guitar...
Phil AMMELOOT www.lava-drops.com
Sounds great although Reverb played apart. Guitar itself? Looks like shit sorry.
