They are more than just ground effect machines, they are also excellent dynamic soarers. That is why you can watch them go from the limit of your vision, across in front of you, and out to the other side limits of vision never flapping a single wing. Look up dynamic slope soaring if you want to see the effect on a large scale. Gliders doing 400 mph. Not kidding.

I’m in the UK, I only fly sub 250gm models now including drones - it’s difficult to get drones sub 250 but Tricopters are a bit easier. I’m using a DLG Glider with a motor more than anything else now, it’s great fun for slopes and beaches! The big bonus is no real restrictions on where you can fly with sub 250gm I do roofing surveys (unpaid) with my drones.

Hey Daniel: Seeing you standing in the bed of iceplants South of the old Edison Plant off Magnolia, blasting that FPV - reminded me of my youth, without the ceaseless grief and aggrivation of living in/behind the Orange Curtain, was a close enough preview for me Old HB has certainly changed for the better - as I live in San Diego. Great pictorial review of the West from the perfect viewpoint. rObt
