Tips about the raglan : 1- Make more rows in the back before you join in the round. For better fitting sweater. (Because the back in higher than the front). 2- make more stitches in the front when you make your raglan to give space for your bust. (specially for big boobs girls) then decrease in the body. 3- you can crochet elastic around the neck if it’s dragging down. I really like your sweater and looking forward see more sweater like this ❤❤❤
If you’re not planning to use the yarn immediately putting that extra tension on your yarn can be bad for it in the long term. Especially any natural fibers.
When you have yarn cakes, do not do a center pull! That way you don’t get the tangles. Got me all fired up as well. But now I’m a very happy and calm yarn-cake-user 😁☺️
This yarn worked up so beautiful! I love top down sweaters, once you get the gist you can use different stitches, make the neck a cowl, you can do whatever you want. I adore making sweaters 😄
Totoro, what a good kitty for being so helpful 🥰 Really love the spring/ lemon-lime colours, so exciting seeing how much yarn they sent you in that box!!
Love that you tried a raglan! If you’d like some unsolicited advice, maybe try using a smaller hook for the collar and ribbing next time. It helps it stay nice and proportionate with the rest of the stitches. Love you and your videos! I watch every week❤
absolutely love this sweater you’ve created!! such lemon summer vibes! by the way you can absolutely do a tapestry design on a raglan sweater, just have to use single crochet, 2 balls of yarn for the background color to go round and round haha and to flip the design upside down, oh and make sure you’re not putting the design on the sleeve! lol i think a raglan sweater with one of the other colors with a solid-color tapestry design would be to. die. for!!! love your videos like always
19:40 I had the same problem with my ball winder. I finally figured it out, after a few balls, is the tension. Also, as soon as I saw the ball start to get too big, I stopped (even though I was not done with my skein) and took the ball off the yarn winder and re thread the yarn back on to the yarn winder without cutting the yarn, but you could but mine was a variegated yarn and I didn’t want to mess the pattern up. Sure you will have a “train” of yarn, but since you have smaller yarn balls you won’t have any knots as much because the yarn isn’t trying to find a place to fit. I applaud you for trying something new!! It looks gorgeous ❤!! Thanks for sharing!!
normally I dont watch a lot videos that are in english because...comfort zones and such. Not my mother tongue. BUT. You are such a fun person! I love your humor and to watch your videos is always enriching, entertaining and inspiring. :3 thanks a lot for your work!
Btw, @crafted.by.cat has an awesome top down sweater pattern called the Crescendo jumper. I’ve made it once as she wrote it with the stripes, and the other two times I used that Caron Cloud cakes self striping yarn with the same pattern. The neck is great on it and her pattern is clear .
The SW yarn means super wash, it's treated to make it feel really soft. The colors are all in different places because it's painted yarn. ❤ When you take the skein off, put a toilet paper tube or folded label inside the middle. You can also put it in a cozy to keep it together. Like a drink cozy for your drink. You can criochet those, too 😊 you can weave some thin elastic cord around the neckline with a tapestry needle to make the neck stop stretching.
I made this sweater as mg first sweater. The pattern is so easy to follow! I love how the colors are different on the arms based on where you pulled from. Never thought of that before!
It looks like lemons with the green leaves on their top! It turned out awesome! I am obsessed with AFW colors but I haven’t actually bought any of their yarn yet. I definitely plan on it though. I’ve heard great things. I watch their hand dying videos here on YT and they’re very neat.
You gotta pull caked yard from the centre. And if you are inclined, make a little yarn cozy for your cakes. I have one for every size cake I own. The yarn clings to the inside of the cozy right down to the very end. You can take in with you and throw it in a bag… it never tangles. I’ve heard cut off panty hose work well too. I LOVE cakes. I cake all my yarn. And I’m so jealous you got yarn from Arcane Fibres. I’ve been watching their videos and drooling over their yarn for over a year now. Someday I’ll save up and order some.
Omg!!!!!!! I can't get over how perfect it is!!! And the colors are amazing!!! It's my dream to have enough of this yarn to make a cardigan with it. Their colorways are just so gorgeous!! I am so thrilled that they sent you this yarn, and I cannot wait to see what else you create with it!!! Totoro is the bestest helper btw! ❤
i use a cut down to size toilet roll center or a hair tie to hold down the center pull of yarn when im winding, and then i have a hand holding the yarn from the guide to the winder itself for extra tension to stop it from winding around the bottom of the base.
It looks like an impressionistic pattern of lemons with green leaves! 🍋 I thought that’s what it was from the thumbnail and was curious how you did that pattern. Really pretty!
Really enjoyed watching you do something different. Love how this turned out! I’m so behind on your videos as we’ve had a month of illness in our home 🫣 so I’m now catching up!! 🥰
I only make too-down options because I struggle to finish tops that are just 4 rectangles. And I always finish my sleeves before the torso section to avoid running out on the sleeves and then never finishing it. I can live with a crop top but not one sleeve 😅 also measure your arm length and then you can just use that as the template for your sleeves!
Arcane Fibre Works is THHHEEEEEE BESTEST!!! So so AMAZING!!!! And look how generous!!! I’m so glad you received the yarn and are doing/did something awesome with it! Hugs from an Ohio fan (yours and Arcane 😉) - Lisa ☺️🫶🏻🧶. PS: the names are so good - esp with the pictures on their site. Annnd, I had tgg bc at EXACT blue typewriter as a youth! EXACT. Might still have it somewhere, lol. 20:21 : SWEATER IS STUNNING. It reminds me of a summery flowery meadow! STUNNING.
Great sweater, I love the way colors pooled on the sleves! I've been eyeballing that yarn winder for months now but after you pointed out the issues with it I'd rather save my money. Thank you so much for that ❤
I’ve been so excited for this video since seeing you post sneak peeks on Instagram 💚💛 I’ve been wanting to tackle a raglan, this is my sign to go for it. It turned out so nice!!
I absolutely love the colors!! Looks great, makes me want to try to make one, although I doubt if we have that brand of yarn in the States. Thanks for sharing!
Do you pull from the middle when using the yarn thats wound on the winder? I've never had this issue, I just pull from the middle. also make sure there's tension as u wind it. Also its erin b has a yt video on this type of sweater, but doesn't add the cuff around the neck, so you can add it on at the end how u would normally (if that makes sense)
Also! 10/10 recommend measuring a sleeve on a sweater you like and matching that length on your current project, so you only have to check its length once or twice.
You might know this already, but the pattern designer, MJ's Off the Hook, has a UA-cam channel with tutorials for all of her patterns. FYI. She has some top down with different stitch patterns that are really pretty (and on my to-do list).
Hi, awesome video as usual! For next time, when you use this yarn, to avoid the weird pattern on sleeves, ball up 2 skeins of yarn and change balls every 2 rows, you will have more uniform color pattern.
I just made this pattern from this creator for my mom and it was so easy to make. I’m a little surprised that your pattern didn’t have a bottom ribbing because mine had one and I made mine longer than the pattern was asking for. The sweater is so gorgeous, the pattern and the yarn just came together wonderfully. Is it weird that it reminds me of a lemon tree for some reason
I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about this!! I'm such a fan of super-wash merino yarn and raglan shapes!! You did such a great job 😍♥♥♥ would you be willing to try a raglan cardigan??
michelle: you should make a top down sweater
me, watching the incoming summer in a tropical island country: omg so true, i will
hey, itll be winter again eventually
Use cotton and a lacy stitch!
Tips about the raglan :
1- Make more rows in the back before you join in the round. For better fitting sweater. (Because the back in higher than the front).

Hold the yarn going from the swift to the wonder. Adds extra tension and winds up tighter and neater. :)
This!
If you’re not planning to use the yarn immediately putting that extra tension on your yarn can be bad for it in the long term. Especially any natural fibers.
@@jeweldeeves7028 that's why you wind it twice! the second go round it'll be looser and not add too much extra tension to the yarn
When you have yarn cakes, do not do a center pull! That way you don’t get the tangles. Got me all fired up as well. But now I’m a very happy and calm yarn-cake-user 😁☺️

Yes! A smaller hook would have tightened it up and made it feel ore secure.
Knit or crochet, I love a top down sweater/cardigan/top. Looks great 😊😊💙🩷❤️💜💛💚
absolutely love this sweater you’ve created!! such lemon summer vibes!

love your videos like always
Love the mixture of the yellow, white and green. That colour combination is your colour ❤

If you ever wash or block the sweater beware that superwash (SW) grows a lotttt with washing. Adding elastic in the collar is the way to go.
normally I dont watch a lot videos that are in english because...comfort zones and such. Not my mother tongue. BUT. You are such a fun person! I love your humor and to watch your videos is always enriching, entertaining and inspiring. :3 thanks a lot for your work!

SW merino means Super Wash Merino. It's 100% wool. Sooooo soft and squooshy 😊
Ooo that’s good to know! 😊
Actually it's not necessarily merino, other blend of yarn can be SW too. Unless of course, it says it's merino
I made this sweater as mg first sweater. The pattern is so easy to follow!
I love how the colors are different on the arms based on where you pulled from. Never thought of that before!
I'm making my first pair of socks with some of their yarn! It's so gorgeous!
You look darling in your outfit you made. Very creative. You and your sister look like you have a lot of fun together.
It looks like lemons with the green leaves on their top! It turned out awesome! I am obsessed with AFW colors but I haven’t actually bought any of their yarn yet. I definitely plan on it though. I’ve heard great things. I watch their hand dying videos here on YT and they’re very neat.

Love how the sweater turned out! Definitely gonna have to try not only the pattern but that yarn, too!
This yarn is scrambled eggs and spinach with a dash of pepper
Hello Michelle,
The Raglan sweater turned out cute.
The sweater pattern is simple and cute, allows the pattern of the color to stand out. perfect for spring ☀️ 🌱
Gorgeous! Looks like a Monet painting. ❤️❤️❤️
i use a cut down to size toilet roll center or a hair tie to hold down the center pull of yarn when im winding, and then i have a hand holding the yarn from the guide to the winder itself for extra tension to stop it from winding around the bottom of the base.

Making a raglan with some hobbii acrylic yarn, but I'm doing TC instead of SC! It's looking so good and is SO quick!
Loving the colors!
Turned out lovely! I love raglans!
Really enjoyed watching you do something different. Love how this turned out! I’m so behind on your videos as we’ve had a month of illness in our home 🫣 so I’m now catching up!! 🥰
This sweater looks fantastic on you!!❤ Make more of them for sure.
I wonder if you’re on the same jouney as me. I graduated from crochet panels to raglan crochet and then finally knitting 🤣👀 .. im invested..
I only make too-down options because I struggle to finish tops that are just 4 rectangles. Looks lovely 🥰 🎉 love those colours

I love a raglan sweater! I used MJs pattern as well to make my first one. The yarn worked up so beautifully 💗
Ohhh this sweater looks gorgeous, I'm going to have to make this.
I can’t wait to watch! I’m currently making a top down triple crochet sweater ❤
omg me too!!
Great sweater, I love the way colors pooled on the sleves! I've been eyeballing that yarn winder for months now but after you pointed out the issues with it I'd rather save my money. Thank you so much for that ❤

I broke down & got a package opener tool. No more worry about using nice scissors on packaging!
Also! 10/10 recommend measuring a sleeve on a sweater you like and matching that length on your current project, so you only have to check its length once or twice.
I LOVE RAGLAN IN KNITTING!! NOW, I have to try it on Crochet!!! I love your sweater. ❤🎉
yayyyy another video!!! 🤩🤩 love ur work!! im also working on a top down sweater!!
After making this raglan sweater I want to make more!
I have the exact same yarn winder! ❤
You might know this already, but the pattern designer, MJ's Off the Hook, has a UA-cam channel with tutorials for all of her patterns. FYI. She has some top down with different stitch patterns that are really pretty (and on my to-do list).

Looks so good!
Love your wearables 👍❤️🎃
Love your sweater!! It's beautiful
I’m crocheting as I watch you, and this has inspired me to finish up my knit raglan. I got scared of it right at the bottom of the body.
This is too cute
I just made this pattern from this creator for my mom and it was so easy to make. I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about this!!
I'm such a fan of super-wash merino yarn and raglan shapes!!
You did such a great job 😍♥♥♥
would you be willing to try a raglan cardigan??
The odd line looks like your join line. You need to use a join thats less noticeable. When joining, go into the 3rd chain, under both loops.
Great job
Once my cakes get too loose to stand alone (I pull from the centre) that’s when I just ball it up instead and put it in my yarn bowl.
Great sweater.
Gorgeous sweater on you !❤😂😊
Making a top down sweater or cardigan is the greatest.
michelle video, me happy 😊
I have a winder and hate it. Prefer to wind by hand. I’m doing a top down pattern after the blanket I’m on for my sister who’s due her 4th baby. ❤
I let my husband wind my yarn. His particular brand of ADHD seems to really like it lol
Your ball winder is too small.. get a 10 oz Stanwood it will make beautiful cakes with center pulls, or outside pull.
you have to hold the yarn while winding that's why its tangling
this kind of sweater is exactly what I'm trying to do now, except I'm uaing 100% acrylic, pastel colors
Use a Wool Jeanie, pulling from the outside, and live a happy life. 😅
I have the same winder and I bought it for the same reason😂😂😂😂 it looked like something they made too many of 40 years ago
Can we modify the with of the armpit hole and the width of the arm?
I wonder if you could figure out tapestry crochet on a raglan sweater like this. But the stitches might shift too much.
you can add an elastic cord in the neckhole to singe it in 😉
That’s a great idea!
Was there a plus size adaptation with this pattern Michelle?
The pattern goes from XS to a 5X
The ball winder you have is not a great one. There are much better ones out there.
