They are secondary products made with left over materials which the factories permitted the workers to make and sell for pocket money, often using the same machines at the factories. Some finished items may have tiny defects, rejected for exports, given to the workers for resell markets
In this kind of market you first ask the price, then the shop owner will name a price, then you knock the price down to around 30% of it, then the shop owner will scold you. If they scold you, then that mean the price is right, leave them, then the shop owner will call you back.

Reckon you are rather lucky, the shopkeeper did not call the "thugs" , the protectors of the shopping mall to come after you, esp. the video-recordings. Fake-Goods Shopping Malls are mostly only patronize by foreigners, my STRONG ADVICE ... do not go there esp. presently these malls are no longer crowded and thus personal safety and security ...are of serious issue of concern. Best to AVOID !!!
