    Since this is an older video you might not see this. I HIGHLY recommend Impossible Burger. It's an amazing vegan ground beef substitute that's certified Parve by the Orthodox Union. It's so good that you can fool meat eaters.

    For a vegetarian dish, if you like spice, try Gochujang braised chickpeas over rice. So delicious. Add some cucumber and carrot for an early bibimbap or just some kimchi and salad leaves to make salad wraps. Always add sesame oil!
    Edit: I just checked, there is kosher Gochujang and kimchi from a kosher brand.

    Who did you learn your cooking skills from?
    I like how you have multiple spices in a small bowl and spread them all together. Also, the baking soda and salt to soak chickpeas was a great recommendation. Should you add baking soda and salt to all dry legumes (for those who may not know: lentils, beans and peas) when soaking ?

    I just found this channel and I'm OBSESSED. It's EXACTLY my style as a frum Jewish mom living in Israel. Amazing! I have a question, how do you keep the rice from getting hard once it's stored? Even on Friday when I make rice for shabbat, it already hard by the time we get to the meal. It stays fluffy if I mix with vegetables, but that's not always practical. Any tips?

      hi Adara!
      I am happy our paths are now connected:)
      to keep the rice nice and soft i put a bit of water at the bottom before putting it on the plata: and the rice stays beautifully fluffy and soft!
      I hope it helps!

    • @frumitup
      @frumitup  Рік тому +2

      Hi!
      There is a principle that the majority wins in kosher laws aka since the majority of the eggs we use Comes from mass produce eggs and they are kosher / no blood spots then we can assume that the eggs from
      This type of production will be kosher too hence being ok to use even being boiled eggs BUT if you can check your eggs ( like in a cake recipe,.. ) you should check them to make sure

    Hi, thank you for this great video, I am looking forward to try it out!
    Could you please tell me though, how do you store this prepped meals? For how long do they stay fresh? You make the salmon on Sunday and it stays perfectly good until next Friday evening?
    Do you reheat it then in the oven again or just microwave?
    And so the ingredients stated in the description are all for a family of seven?
    (sorry for bombing you with all the questions, but I am first time on this channel so I don't have any idea if you have these already answered somewhere else...)

      @frumitup  2 роки тому +4

      Good morning Ana!
      I am so happy you found my channel and feel blessed you are taking time to ask me your very good questions!
      I make this meal prep on Sunday usually and store everything covered in the fridge : everything stays nice and fresh until we eat later in the week between Sunday and Thursday
      The fish I prepare on Sunday is eaten before Friday.
      For Shabbat we do a different fish/menu that I usually make on Thursday evening after work.
      I have 2 Shabbat prep video for these kind of menus if you want : I can give you the links ❤️with pleasure!
      What needs to be reheated will be put in the oven covered with a bit of water at the bottom for the pasta to stay moist for example
      Yes this will serve a family of 5 and permanent 2 guests so for me it’s a family of 7!
      I hope it answers your questions: I am here if you have more!
      Looking forward to reading from you soon!

    Do you sort beans and sift flour in a sifting cloth and rice in a wire strainer to ensure no hidden insect or insect eggs in it such as grain weevils & rice weevils?

    • @frumitup
      @frumitup  3 роки тому +3

      Hi! You are exactly right!!
      We soft the flour through a fine meshed sifter to see the worms and insects in the sifter after sifting the flour
      For the rice/ wheat/ spelt,...we use a larger mesh sifter to find the insects on the white surface after shaking the grains in the sifter at 1st and then after we are going to be looking though the grains on a white surface then we look of insects are floating on the surface of the water:)
