  • Drag Racing is quickly becoming a game of data, refinement, and implementation of technology to do and see what you never have before. The Motion Raceworks High Def Driveshaft wheel delivers data that allows our customers to set new personal bests on their first outing. Whether you you log driveshaft data (or do not), the data this wheel will give you for interpretation will open your eyes to what is going on in the first 60' in a way you have not seen before. Reading from virtually zero speed, there is no longer a delay on the "hit" when data is needed the most!
    www.motionrace...
The Motion High Def Driveshaft sensor works across nearly every platform and datalogger on the market. Simply put, if your system allows for 16 pickup points and uses a 3 wire style hall effect sensor for driveshaft data, this will work for you. Some of the popular applications are MSD Grid, MSD ARC module, Haltech, Holley EFI HP Dominator and Terminator, Fueltech, MS3Pro, Megasquirt variations, AEM, and even stock applications when putting a late model engine in a swap where there are no wheel speed sensors.
We carry in stock sizes 1.812, 1.875, 2.125, 2.187, and 2.500. These sizes provide solutions for Ford 9 inch, Ford 8.8, Dana 60, GM 12 bolt, GM 8.5 10 bolt and more! Additionally we have sensors to work with all of these as well as the Strange Ultracase 5/16" diam in case sensor.
If using your own sensor, you can NOT reuse the sensor you previously used with a magnet style wheel. This setup requires a hall effect gear tooth style ferrous pickup sensor. Other sensors from Racepak, Haltech, MSD, Holley, and other brands will work great with our wheel, so long as they meet this criteria.
    Quick Reference for wiring:

    Red M12 style sensor
    Blue: Sensor Ground
    Tan: Sensor Power
    Black: Signal to ECU
Remember! If you hook your power and ground up to a standard ground or power, this sensor may or will not work! Power and ground need to come from a dedicated sensor power and sensor ground!

After installing and setting up the kit, which controller do you lean more towards using a Holley Dominator? I see that Holley has their paywall traction control system and Davis Technology has their add on module. So I'm curious to know which youd prefer and why? Both ways require your kit, it's just now deciding how to apply that data that I'm curious on. Thanks and I really have enjoyed using other Motion products so far!

I ❤️ ❤️ those 2 dogs in the video. Very informative video as well my good man. I just watched your episode about hall sensor alignment. I had nothing but problems with my new build. I turned the sensor 45⁰ degrees and everything cleared right up. I cant thank you enough for the incredible info!

      @@MotionRaceworksOfficial Take my money!! 😂
There’s nothing to bolt a bracket to on the 12 bolt (especially if it’s leaf sprung)!
In order to build a mount for one, your probably going to have to require a hole to be drilled.
Don’t forget the fbodies have the torque arm mount on the drivers side.. so probably design it to go on the passenger side of the housing to keep it universal.

Does this work with the LS Terminator X , and will is require a resistor?

    • @MotionRaceworksOfficial
      @MotionRaceworksOfficial  4 роки тому +1

It will! It should not require a resistor, but occasionally you will find irregularities on different inputs even on the same Ecu.

So what is your opinion on using the Hi-Def Driveshaft sensor over using the speed output on a 4L80 when in conjunction with a Holley Dominator and traction control? I had planned to use the 4L80's speed output due to me driving the car a lot of street miles and did not want to take a chance of knocking the driveshaft sensor loose or out of alinement.

RRM Garage I believe the 4l80e has a 40 pulses per revolution output. This will work on some systems but others will not be able to interpret and use that high of a tooth count. I also am not sure of how good of a sensor is used but I would imagine it is decent. It doesn’t cost much to give it a try if it’s all already there! Worst case it doesn’t work and you can extend the wires and run one of these

I like your videos. But can you please invest in a tripod. The swaying is super annoying and makes me sick...
